Most of us associate hotels and Airbnbs with holidays—a special time that doesn't come around too often. A time we want to make the most out of. So, naturally, we're super excited to get away, stay in a lovely hotel, and chill by the pool. Just relax. However, sometimes our expectations aren't met. Maybe the carpet design makes our room look like a bloody crime scene, or maybe the ceiling of your bathroom is so low, you have to kneel in order to take a piss. To remind you not to skip the reviews before booking, Bored Panda has compiled a list of hotel and Airbnb fails that aren't doing these establishments any favors. Continue scrolling and check out the pictures!

Something tells me, however, that we shouldn't expect hotels and Airbnbs to fix these problems anytime soon. Their main priority right now is survival. In November, 71% of hoteliers said they won't make it another six months without further federal assistance given current and projected travel demand, and 77% of hotels reported they will be forced to lay off more workers. Without further government assistance, nearly half (47%) of respondents indicated they would be forced to close hotels. More than one-third of hotels said they will be facing bankruptcy or be forced to sell by the end of 2020.

The package includes a second round of PPP funding and other benefits that will help the hospitality industry.
"The legislation contains many of the provisions AHLA has advocated for, including a second round of Paycheck Protection Program loans, increasing the size of PPP loans to 3.5 times payroll and making PPP loan expenses tax-deductible," Rogers explained. "This will provide a critical lifeline for hotels and other businesses that have been decimated by the pandemic. Other hotel industry priorities include a one-year extension for Troubled Debt Restructuring (TDR) relief so that banks can continue working with borrowers to gain additional forbearance and debt relief, business meal deductibility through 2022, and expanded Employee Retention Tax Credit."
While this relief is welcome, leaders want to believe that it is just the beginning. "More will be needed to restore the 4.5 million travel jobs lost in the travel and tourism industry, but the process that produced this agreement is hopefully a positive sign for what will be possible to achieve in the next Congress,” Roger Dow, president/CEO, U.S. Travel Association, said.
Anything for you guys. Just save this list and deal with the issues in the pictures after the pandemic is over, OK?

That is about $67 in us currency. Also, what lengths are they going to, to know if you have "sex in the room or area"😆
Is that 2,000 Baht per person or per couple? I need more details please. Thanks.
Read the title carefully, it says *hostel* not hotel. Most hostels have shared rooms for many people making this sign a lot more logical... The last hostel I stayed in there were 6 bunk beds lining the two long walls. The last thing any of us wanted was for someone to start having sex in their bunk!!
Why is that even a thing? What they heck do they expect people to do on vacation?
It's in a hostel. Usually you share bunk rooms with strangers in a hostel

Load More Replies...It doesn't say anything about sex in front of the room, so...
I wish this was hanging outside the door when I was 9 and it was Valentine's day and I slept in the closet and my parents were sleeping in the hotel bed and I could hear... everything... that was the day I lost my innocence...
Firstly, they put you in the closet?! Most hotels provide camp beds for kids!! Secondly, you have my deepest sympathy. There are some things that you just shouldn't ever have to experience!!

I was at a hotel once - not a cheap hotel, either - where the only window in my room looked out into the elevator lobby. Literally every single person who stepped off the elevator couldn't help but look directly into my room. Also the air conditioning was broken (in 90 degree heat), so they spent three hours installing a new one... that smelled like it was burning. I told them enough was enough and that I would be finding another place to stay, and they said because it was after 8 pm by then that it was company policy to charge me for the full night (even though I hadn't spent one minute in the room). I'll spare you the exhausting details, but the summary would be no matter what I did I never got my money back.
I hope you Trip Advisor-d the h*ll outta that place!
Load More Replies...My worst hotel experience was pulling up in the parking lot and seeing several cop cars and an ambulance. Our family started joking about what might have happened. They hadn't closed, so we went into the lobby. We saw little red spots on the floor and of course start going "oooo, it's blooood!" Long story short, two people actually had been murdered. We went to get on the elevator, but the one that opened was the one a crime scene team was busy cleaning. On top of everything, we were next door to the room they were killed in. My brother and I kept trying to get into that room from ours using the connecting door. Our mom kept smacking us and telling us to go to the pool LOL
I remember i stayed at a hotel in the airport and i booked a room that had a balcony when i got to my room i noticed that the balcony had a super nice view of the runway of the airport i went to open the door to the balcony it was locked then i saw a sign on the door and it said “this door is closed for safety purposes you are not alowed to brake window and jump onto the runway”
I stayed at a hotel in France where the lights in the bathroom were motion sensored so while I took a shower Ihad to keep waving my arms about because the lights kept going off. At that same place the glass doors to the street folded in half but they folded out instead of in so every time you walked up the door you had to stand aside or you’d get hit in the face with the door.
1/5 OK, This is from my TripAdvisor account The Croft Hotel, Leicester, UK. Where do I start? Well, we booked months in advance (Early March) for a room at the end of November making sure to tell them that I am disabled and would need a room as close to the ground floor as possible... so they put us on the top floor as far away from reception as possible. Upon entering the room we noticed how cold it was and found the french doors to the balcony wide open. The light for the balcony was barely bright enough to light the light housing and the balcony was surrounded with thin chicken wire and a used tea bag was on the balcony floor. We could not lock the window for our own personal security as the catch was broken. There were a few missing light bulbs so half of the lights did not work. The pillows on the bed were paper thin as was the 'quilt'.
I stayed at an expensive hotel in Beijing, and on the marble wall in the washroom was a Chinese symbol written in poop
I used to travel a bit all over the U.S. and Europe. I have never had anything like this. One hotel In Italy, in '76 had a very tiny curtained shower under 3' in diameter in the bedroom/living room area. That was about the worst.
Not always. Management is everything. We have stayed in discount or expensive. Price wasn't the key to a good stay. Some were fantastic some horrible.
