30 Honest Wedding Photos By Ian Weldon That Are As Funny As They Are Chaotic (New Pics)
Interview With Artist“The coolest wedding photographer in the world” - that’s what photographer Ian Weldon’s Instagram bio says and it might just be true. Those who aren’t too fond of the perfectly polished cookie-cutter wedding shots will probably enjoy the unfiltered and hilarious photos taken by Ian.
"Much as I’d love to stand around for hours lining people up and taking photographs of every combination of family members and guests, I’ve more important things to be doing. And quite frankly, so have you," the photographer told Bored Panda in a previous post about his unique take on wedding photography. Scroll down to see his newest works.

When asked about the most memorable wedding he’s photographed, Ian told us: “It’s difficult to say, really. Each wedding has its own personality and rhythm so they are all memorable in their own way. I’m also very lucky that I get to travel a lot and always enjoy experiencing different cultures.
In 2016 I traveled to Los Angeles to shoot Steven Yeun’s (Glen from the Walking Dead) wedding, which was my first real high profile wedding, and that was quite a memorable experience.
As far as hilarious situations are concerned, there’s always something going on. There has been everything from minor scuffles, medical emergencies, and missing guests, to wedding cakes being dropped on the floor and cars being crashed into courtyard water features. It’s all in good spirits though, and most people behave themselves. Mostly.”
Is it too sour, or has he poked himself in the eye with a straw? We'll never know.
“I always have a few things going on at the same time,” Ian tells us about his life outside photography. “I have an interest in community and more underrepresented aspects of society. I’m working on a few long-term projects that include: working men's clubs, body building culture, and festivals, and there are always other ideas floating around."
At least they had a cake lol. The people responsible for my wedding cake forgot to bring it at all 😂
Too many people order WAY too much cake(I'm a previous cake maker). The only thing good about this is the fondant work. Wth is with the top?
"About the time I was getting serious with photography I was also in a band. I played guitar and could sing (shout) a little. I was never really serious about it and never understood music and it fell by the wayside when my photography started to take off. During the pandemic, I had a chance to go back to music and started to learn the piano. I can get a tune out of one, I can read music a little and I understand much more music theory. I’m not doing it with any goal in mind but it is something I enjoy and it’s a different creative outlet. Also, during the pandemic, I learned a little bit about shooting video and that has given me ideas about some short documentaries.
And there are motorbikes. I've been obsessed with them from a very young age and still am today. It’s great that when I have weddings in Europe I can road trip on my bike. I have a 2-week tour of France and Italy coming up - with two weddings to shoot while I’m there - and then another in Switzerland a couple of months later. I expect they will be very memorable trips.”
When asked about the future, the creator told us: “I’m not sure I have any future goals other than to keep working. I feel very lucky to be able to travel and to be invited to weddings and parties. I get involved and get to eat amazing food and drink and dance and make photographs.
In 2019 I had an exhibition of my wedding photography at the Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol, which was the first exhibition of wedding photography within a fine art context in the UK. Ever. Possibly the world… I really think that shone a light on the possibility of wedding photography and showed that it didn’t have to be done in a traditional manner. If I can continue to promote that within this industry then I suppose that is something that I could aspire to.”
Well. There is nothin wrong with this. It’s the two stars enjoying their big day
Personally it makes me smile whenever I see someone taking a photo of something that clearly makes them happy
Guy in the middle is either shocked at how good the food is, or how bad it tastes, or he just saw something unbelievable outside and stopped functioning.
Oh I forgot to brush my teeth! I’ll just give them a little rub, there, that ought to do it!
Wow, that's a lotta meat. Odds are there's no vegetarian table, I reckon.
