We've seen our share of crappy designs, but store shelves are so abundant with them, there's always more to poke fun at. For example, toys. They're usually designed and made by adults, so you'd expect a considerable amount of consideration before manufacturing them, right? Well, not so much. Bored Panda has collected some of the most questionable toy design fails to prove that some designers have no clue what they're doing.
From a doll head, used as an actual tail for a pony to a psychotic Elmo, it seems ridiculous someone actually greenlighted these horrible ideas. We're pretty sure, however, that the employees who did have a 'long talk' with their bosses after the fact. Scroll down to check out what we mean and vote for the funniest toy design fails that made you cringe the most.

My Dog Destroyed Her Toy Cactus, And There Was Another Sad Cactus Inside

Why Do These Toy Design Fails Happen?
Sure, it’s all fun and games to look at these funny toy design fails, but have you ever wondered how come they’re actually there for you to buy in the first place? Surely, you have to be some evil mastermind to create these atrocities, right? While that might very well be the truth, we figured more realistic causes that might allow some of these worst toy design fails to happen:
First things first—to create engaging toys, the manufacturers have to do thorough market research. If they skip this step and imagine kids being these little monsters, chances are they’re headed for a toy design fail.
Furthermore, even if the designers did market research but failed to actually test the products with real children, toy fails might be inevitable.
Lastly, the quality of production (like stamping completely wrong eyes on a doll) and even an overly complex design can be a straight pathway to some epic toy design fails.
All in all, it requires a great deal of creativity and thought to create really good toys. If some parts in the process are missing, it might lead to some toy fails of massive proportions. But hey, at least we have these funniest toy fails to laugh at!
My Little Sister's Toy Looks Like It Just Smoked Itself Into A New Era
I got my hands on one of those cute little dino's! They wiggle their heads, and blink their eyes and their mouth opens and closes when you "feed" them and they play music and small kids can actually sit on the back and bounce which changes the action of the dino. I think it's a great interactive toy! It's so cute, I wish I still had it. And I'm 60 years old!

This Fantastic Toy
true story: I had something like this as a kid (4/5yo) and I really thought that's what the male genitalia does (I can't ask then, culture thing). fast forward a year or so I had a dental emergency and my dad taking me to the dentist and decided to use his motorcycle so we can get there faster. I was so shocked I really thought he'd really would do the thing but I was even more shocked when he didn't bc I thought he didn't do it bc of my sake. what if the police stopped him for not putting the thing in the thing?? anyway, I learned the real thing soon after. I felt so stupid.

This toy is for very small kids, for them there's nothing wrong with this. Also, if not for this post, and I had seen this toy somewhere, honestly I would have not thought anything negative otherwise.
This Squishy Toy's Eyes Fell Off But He Came With Back Ups
I actually thought #1 with the sad cactus inside was brilliant. It helps you feel better knowing your dog gets a second chance with a toy they rip apart... and having to reflect on their actions every time they see that sad face, lol.
I must admit most of them are very funny. Some fails, like the soccer ball printing or paw concentration camp are brilliant XD But I also have to say, that we - adults - are perverts :P A kid won't see anything wrong in a doll figurine with a hole where you attach the wooden branch or the pupming hole in a baloon between its legs. It's our filthy minds making most of these toys embarassing :P
Yeah, but it's mostly adults who design these toys, so.. ...

#51 is actually exactly what it's supposed to be. If anyone has watched the Shin-chan anime, he does an elephant dance with his penis.
I would've wondered what's so funny a few years back... But now I'm starting to turn into a "boring" adult, as my friend and I used to call them. And it turns out I simply couldn't appreciate adults' humour. Well, now I do, at least most of it... However, it doesn't have a lot of variety in all those jokes and fails.Every second fail features a d*ck fail.
I think most people seem to forget that the vast majority of these are more than likely just cheap fakes/copies Hence why they don't intentionally resemble the character they are supposed to be, just enough resemblance to make a child want it even if it is a bizarre Spongebob something or mis-spelt Simpsons.
I think it's mostly to mislead the parents who don't know the shows well enough to know it's wrong. Like bootleg versions of kids movies. A kid can definitely tell if it's not their favorite character, but mom probably can't tell that Pikachu isn't supposed to look like that.
Load More Replies...#52 is from Shin-chan....you should look up his famous butt dance. I love that cartoon, but I imagine some prudish parents would be offended at that

Bwhahahahahaha...(0.0)? Whoops, I just fell off my chair (probably because I didnt have the correct hole for the chair attachment) ;))
Made in China and they don't give a damn. Their manufacturing philosophy is "at least it looks like the real thing" and I am not kidding. I worked there for a few years and as long as somewhere along the line it looked like the finished product it was okay for them. That is how they ended up with toxic powdered milk that killed babies, toxic toothpaste that was exported, drywall exported to the west that was banned in Europe because it was toxic, cardboard filled humbao(dumpling rolls) to eat. They are the worst when it comes to consumer safety and especially childrens products.
