This Online Group Is Shaming People For Failing At The One Job They Had To Do, And Here Are 45 Of The Funniest Examples
If you liked our publications on the subreddit 'OSHA' or the Facebook group 'Looks Like An OSHA Violation But Ok,' you should enjoy this one as well.
(I'll commit the sin of paraphrasing this community's title, but trust me, it's just a minor change and doesn't detract anything from it.)
The subreddit is called '[Dumb] People At Work.' Even though it's smaller than its aforementioned cousins and has just over 9K members, the content is just as good. Or bad. Depends on how you look at it.
Tying up dirt and rocks with straps, building questionable towers from nearby material instead of getting a ladder... It's all there!

Most of these people look like they have never heard of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). It's a federal agency responsible for ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for employees in the United States.
OSHA sets and enforces standards for workplace safety and health, and provides training, outreach, education, and assistance to employers and workers.
OSHA violations occur when an employer fails to comply with OSHA standards or regulations. These violations can range from minor infractions, such as failing to properly label a chemical container, to serious violations that result in injury or death, such as failure to provide proper fall protection or failure to adequately train employees on the use of hazardous chemicals.

In the United States, OSHA has the authority to inspect workplaces for compliance with OSHA standards, and can issue citations and fines to employers who are found to be in violation. Employers have the right to contest OSHA citations, but if the citations are upheld, the employer must correct the violation and pay any associated fines.
There are several common OSHA violations that occur in the United States. Some of the most frequently cited violations include:
- Lack of fall protection: Falls are one of the leading causes of workplace injuries and deaths, and OSHA requires employers to provide adequate fall protection for employees who work at heights. This includes installing guardrails, safety netting, and other protective measures to prevent falls.
- Lack of hazard communication: Employers are required to provide information to employees about the hazards they may encounter on the job, including the proper handling and storage of hazardous chemicals.

- Lack of proper respiratory protection: Employers must provide adequate respiratory protection to employees who work in environments where they may be exposed to hazardous substances. This includes providing the proper respirators and training employees on how to use them.
- Lack of machine guarding: Employers must provide proper machine guards to protect employees from being injured by moving machinery parts.
- Lack of proper electrical safety: Employers must follow OSHA standards for electrical safety, including the use of proper grounding and electrical protective equipment.

Surprise, Don’t Listen To Your Boss? You Get Fired. Not Exactly A New Concept
If I was responsible for cleaning bathrooms, I think I'd be wearing a mask no matter what the policy was...weird hill to choose to die on, but aright
Um, one of the main reasons for mask use in the medical field is to prevent accidental transfer of bodily fluids. Bathroom are full of germs from bodily fluids AND solids. 🤦
AND cleaning liquids that can emit toxic fume. GG for playing yourself
Load More Replies...I think someone missed the point of a job : getting paid to do what your boss tells you to do. ( Of course within reasonable limits, like if something is dangerous to you or someone else. Wich is not the case, quite the opposite here...)
And I'll bet that individual wore GLOVES when cleaning the potties!
Not sure : I would not be surprised if he/she used fingernails to deal with hard-to-clean spots.
Load More Replies...This is where we are as a society, we've allowed janitors to believe they know better than infectious disease specialists , and they're calling for Fauci's prosecution and death.
Because these are the same people who basically thought a man who went bankrupt four times was a great businessman. And would most likely put bleach up their butts, because they definitely would put wormer in themselves. This is how fascist states begin. Where is you take the intelligentsia and destroy the belief in them, and everyone thinks they have more knowledge than the experts. That’s why Fauci was so downgraded because he was too much of a threat to Trump and his followers.
Load More Replies...What an imbecile. She deserves to be fired. Covid is real and is deadly. I'm not so much bothered if she gets it but she might give it to someone frail or with health issues. That's the problem, people think of themselves not realising they are protecting others.
He deserves to be proud. Youre the idiot. Go breathe all the toxic stuff emanating from your mask. Which btw does nada.
Load More Replies...I had managers who would spew new rules whether they made sense or not. They were always to afraid to say anything to their bosses when things were stupid. My all time favorite was the new pain scale for patients who are unconscious or in a coma. The scale came with a series pictures ranging from smiling to crying. I had two managers tell me, that if the patient is unresponsive, have them point at the picture that best describes their pain. I said that back to them. Yes, that is what you have to do. I asked them to repeat what they said. Now they seemed a bit testy. Okay then. If a patient is unable to respond, you want them to point at the picture. Got it. They went off on their merry ways & one of them came back to me later on, finally catching on to how stupid they were to say that. The other one defended the new policy for several weeks until they realized how stupid it was too. an unresponsive patient can't point at anything.
Maybe he should have been wearing a mask from the start, those toxic fumes have definitely done some damage on his brain.
Good on you for standing up and not be a stupid brainwashed zombie. People still don't see it after 3 years omg I wanna scream! Do you not realize folks what has happened? Omg unbelievable. WAKE UP the comment section makes me wanna die what a bunch of lobotomized idiots. Go read 1984, educate yourself, do something, follow the money and you'll maybe get it??? Mass hypnosis.. ring a bell??? Do you know how many babies were still born because of the freaking EXPERIMENTAL INJECTION you all got BLINDLY??? myocarditis, strokes, guillain barré syndrom, paralysis, and so on. But NOPE! For yall, SCIENCE IS RIGHT!! the covid f*****g cult.
Where I work, everyone except me has had the Covid jab and boosters and they all wear masks. I never wear a mask and refuse the jab. Everyone except me has had Covid. Some multiple times. No, this does not mean I'm just lucky.
Thank you!!!! At least ONE person makes sense here.
Load More Replies...Still thousand of good well meaning people are dining every day. You sound like an idiot. Quit being stupid, wear the mask.
Looks like he was unqualified for the job of swabbing potties. With an attitude like that, I suspect he's going to have a lot of jobs by the time he's 30.
As a boss of mine used to say, don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya
I don’t get this … is he/she/them complaining about some rule that says a worker can’t say no to the boss or the rule to ware a mask in public during a pandemic??? I mean a rule about saying no to a boss IS stupid, but waring mask even in normal flue-season is common sense and respect for others!
Maybe your boss just wanted ppl to feel safe! Obviously, you don't care about others!
I too worked in housekeeping, even before there was a pandemic on occasion I'd wear a mask because of backsplash. I'd also use disposable coveralls for really icky situations. Why you don't want to wear your mask is just weird! I'd understand if you're not working while customers are in the building, but to just flat out tell your boss "NO,it's stupid.....!" is the fastest way to being fired I can think of!
They deserve to be fired just for the lack of capitalisation in of some of the words.
Cleaned bathrooms? I'd wear a mask, rubber gloves, shoe covers, and a long apron.
People trying to make a point over ridiculous things. A thing these days. What's your point? Wow, you stood up about wearing a mask. How brave of you???
People aren't going to wait for you to finish cleaning before they walk in.
I read the title as surprise, don't listen to your boss? You get (a) friend.
Cleaning bathrooms during a global pandemic and you're refusing to wear a mask? Yeah, that's just culling the herd, bye-bye.

Given Her Statements , I Think This Qualifies As A Dumbass At Work
OSHA violations can have serious consequences for both employers and employees. Employers who violate OSHA standards can face fines, legal action, and negative publicity, which can damage their reputation and bottom line. Employees who work in unsafe conditions or who are not properly trained on how to use hazardous materials may suffer serious injuries or death.

Hey Boss... Where Should I Put This Plunger ?
It is important for both employers and employees to be aware of OSHA standards and regulations, and to take steps to ensure compliance. Employers should conduct regular safety audits and training sessions, and employees should report any safety concerns they have to their supervisors. By working together to ensure compliance with OSHA standards, employers and employees can help create a safe and healthy work environment.

Oh, I have a fun one! I’m playing D&D with my family. Background: the party just got our asses kicked, and have been captured. My mom was a sorcerer, my brother was a rogue, and I was a paladin. My dad was DMing. So, my brother picks the lock of our cell and sneaks out, and tries to steal the (asleep) guard’s sword. Critical failure, the guard wakes up. Roll for initiative. Literally the NEXT TURN, I, the MEAT SHIELD, grab the sword and lop off the guy’s head. Shortly followed by in-character banter about the meat shield doing the rogue’s job.
My dad once tried to attack a fire imp with fire. Also my players trial-and-errored though a simple Indiana Jones floor puzzle. This is why I love D&D.
