Whoever has never had a pet will call us all crazy, but trust me, animals very often underestimate their proportions and it results in some serious traps. Previously, here at Bored Panda, we covered this phenomenon in a collection of pics of stuck animals whose eyes were bigger than their belly and their belly was bigger than their bowl.
This time, we are taking a look at pets getting stuck in the most unusual places, like top kitchen counters, sofa cracks, window spaces, garbage bins… you name it!
Both cute and adorably funny, the pics show that nothing is impossible to your furry friend, even the most absurd ideas. Like chewing a hole through a towel and sticking your head in it. While some doggo thought it was the most exciting endeavor, their owner was probably not so eager to see the result. So scroll down and upvote your favorite pics!

For all those wondering what kind of duck this is, it is a male Cayuga. Cayugas are black, iridescent ducks with a soft quack and a protective nature. The females are excellent mothers, and will not hesitate to attack if you go anywhere near their nests. And Heaven forbid you have a baby Cayuga in your hands when she sees you, even if it's not hers she will adopt it. I have 14 of them, 4 runner ducks, 5 Pekins (plain boring white ducks. Loud), a Welsh Harlequin, and a wood duck they all adopted.

Yep, I rescued a dove that somehow fell thru the slats like this. When I put up my new fence, I remembered that little dude, and spaced my slats a half inch apart.

Although scrolling through pictures of animals getting stuck in weird places is really entertaining, we have to remember that for your furry friend, it may not be as funny. It turns out that two to three pets in the U.S. die every week from suffocation, and most pet owners aren't even aware of the risk. Of course, not every place or the item is dangerous to an animal, per se. A dog standing on top of the kitchen counter or a kitty stuck in the sofa crease will probably not do any harm, but getting stuck in some particular things can be really dangerous.

They can actually flip themselves back over on their own. YouTube it. It's fucken insane. I have a HUGE yellow footed tortoise who doesn't like sleeping in his winter enclosure at night so he climbs the walls n frequently flips himself over n he can flip himself back right side up. Although I have a weird 6th sense about it. Sometimes I just know he's flipped over n I go in there n I'm like "you dummy!" N then I let him roam the house n he chases my toes because he thinks they're banana slices. It's a fun ritual.

That's why I give mine a good warm soak 1-2x a week. That way he takes his big poops in the water where I can easily sanitize n clean it n I don't have to change his water 2x a day. N that way he doesn't stink or track poop all over the house. I love tortoises. But my tortoise is also like 50 lbs. so his poops are like dog poop sized. Lol. So it's quite a lot to clean up without giving him warm soaks. But the warmth helps them clear themselves out so less mess in the winter enclosure!

According to veterinarian Dr. Jeff Werber, when the animals smell a bag of chips, “they pick up the smell and they wanna go in. The more they breathe, it sucks in. And moisture kind of sticks to the inside. And before you know it, it's a vacuum."

Load More Replies... In order to make sure your pet is safe at home, you may want to empty any food packaged in bags, such as snacks and cereal, into sealed containers like Tupperware. Most importantly, before throwing away any type of bag, whether it’s a chip bag or cereal bag, snip it. Snip it down the side and across the bottom so the bag becomes completely open and flat.
If you find your pet in a situation where he’s suffocating, you must act immediately. Quickly determine if his head’s stuck in a bag, jar or can. Either cut the object off quickly, or in the case of a jar, you may want to try lubricating it. If the pet loses consciousness, it may be time to start CPR and head to the vet.

Another particularly dangerous object your cat can get stuck in is tilt-and-turn windows. Cats can try to climb outside using a tilting window. In many cases, they lose grip because of the smooth frame and fall into the gap of the tilted window. This can have dramatic consequences. When your cat gets stuck, this can lead to suffocation or damage to the spinal cord.
In such cases, cats will start to resist in an attempt to free themselves. However, this does not work and can only increase the harm done. The best solution is to prevent the cat from getting stuck in the narrowest part of the window or to completely prevent a cat from climbing out of the window.

One winter day, a friend came home, draped his winter coat on the back of a chair in the dining room, then went into the kitchen to start making dinner. Five minutes later he hears his cat screaming from the dining room. He looks all around, couldn't find her. Looks under the table and sees his coat sleeve swinging back and forth. Cat had crawled inside the sleeve and wiggled her way down with her head sticking out, just like this cat, except the coat was still hanging on the back of the chair. She had to make like Houdini to get out.

This is what we were told as well. Just have to have a really tall extension ladder handy. We were able to rescue a cat from a tall tree using an extension ladder and lots of patience. He followed us home and walked right in. During the lockdown due to the pandemic last year. After checking him at the vet for a chip and searching for an owner with no success, we named him Lucky.

My idiot dog banged into a table thus knocking off the sticky fly trap (like a cylindrical vertical glue covered pole). It got stuck to his tail. He then decided it was chasing him and proceeded to run around in a panic trying to escape it I managed to tread on the end as he did one of his circuits and he pulled himself free, but then picked up every scrap of dust or fluff from the floor until he went to the groomer for a trim.

Maverick got stuck upside down in between the cover plates in the kitchen aisle. Besides dismantling it, the only way to get him out was a small opening near the bottom. My son finally managed with tempations and wet food to lure him out the hole because his brother was getting his treats.

When I was four or five, I used one of those panty-swings the first and last and only time ... got one of my balls squeezed right when entering, it was squeezed so hard, it crawled up nito my belly. Came back without further means to be taken, but it hurt really bad ... I literaly saw stars for the first time (you know, when you deprive your brain of oxygen, you shose little shiny flakes floating by in your field of vision ... "Sterne sehen", this is called in german ... "Seeing stars" it is then ... is it?).

Perhaps some were staged, however, they could repeat what actually happened in the past, with my two cats, I often miss good shots, they see the camera, and gone, I am impressed with phone shots, but I do not have one, as yet, I have not mastered the video on my camera, I need to work on it, there have been some video ones I have missed, it was easier when I had dogs, we must cherish our precious moments, great post, thanks !!!
