Having read the title, you’re probably wondering: “What’s so funny about street names?” And you are right. Most of the time, it’s all pretty straightforward. A street name is just a part of your address, and they are usually named after some important historical figure or geographical location, or occasionally also after an event, like independence or the announcement of the first republic.

But every now and then things get weird and we get some really funny addresses. Obviously, some misunderstandings happen because of the “lost in translation” phenomenon. What seems to be a perfectly serious, maybe even boring street name in the native language of the place might sound hilarious to a foreigner. But that’s just one part of the story.

As often as not, you will find a place in your own country that sounds extremely funny. And that’s true not only of streets. You can come across road names, river names, and sometimes entire villages and towns that will make you chuckle uncontrollably.

What I want to know, and you are probably asking yourself this question too, is whether the naming authorities really don’t see the humor of the situation or if they select funny names for streets on purpose because we all need some fun in life.

So if you had to come up with funny names for streets in your city, what names would you choose? Have you ever come across funny or cool street names while traveling? Share them in the comments and enjoy the collection we have compiled for you.

Incidentally there is a road in Alabama called bloody bucket. It's very popular with motorcycle riders.

What kind of ho is England famous for? A titty ho, apparently, which for those of you who don't know are a type of English prostitute with big boobs to distract you from their horribly disfigured looking face and teeth(no, they aren't a new species of bird beaked subhuman, but they certainly do have some honkers on them). Which part of England can you go to, to pretend you're in middle earth and get amped up on the shire while enjoying their world famous titty ho's? The north obviously. /s /j hopefully also obvious

Far from the only place in in UK with this street name, it is very common in coal mining areas, it is thought to originate from the slag heap / coal slag. However, best of luck if you are driving down or looking for one of these roads, chances are the street name place is missing, they tend to get stolen for some reason?? :)

“Booger” is a term people in the Southern US use to describe Bigfoot. Similar to Boogieman. Maybe this road has been the location of many sightings of an unclassified North American great ape.

This is a duplicate. It is currently #68 on the list too (also for Lincolnshire, so not same name different England county). If you are going to list more Fannys, try F***y Street, or F***y More Lane....
