Yep, looks like my husband, who is not sleeping (that is what he says).
If it makes your sleepless nights any easier, know that you aren't alone. According to CDC data, more than a third of American adults are not getting enough of good sleep on a regular basis. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Sleep Research Society recommend that adults aged 18–60 years should get at least 7 hours of quality sleep each night to promote optimal health and well-being.
It's Too Late Now, Though
Sleeping less than 7 hours per day can lead to an increased risk of developing chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and frequent mental distress.

"As a nation, we are not getting enough sleep," said Wayne Giles, M.D., director of CDC’s Division of Population Health. "Lifestyle changes such as going to bed at the same time each night; rising at the same time each morning; and turning off or removing televisions, computers, mobile devices from the bedroom can help people get the sleep hygiene they need."

I'm actually really comforted by the fact that apparently thousands of other people have exactly the same issues with sleep that I do.
While I agree and it's totally normal to have these problems sometimes, it's very sad so many people don't get good sleep and that's some kind of merit 'not to have time to sleep'. Also there are so many health problems causing and coming from sleep problems and I hope people would take them more seriously
Load More Replies...That’s generous. Mine is apparently set for 4:30am. 😺
Load More Replies...When you are trying to sleep but only LED lights allowed in your continent and the blue light they emit scrw up your circadian cycle and your brain thinks it's daytime.
The ironic thing about this for me is that I am reading this at 3am because I can’t sleep :/
As I posted below… Me: *looking at these memes at 11 pm instead of falling asleep three years after the article was published”
Load More Replies...No one mentioned that moment of sheer terror when you have to be at work at 6 AM, forgot to set your alarm clock, took a nap and woke up at 7 PM!!!! (Thinking that it's 7 AM...) This drama works especially well in the summer when the sun goes down at about 9 PM and in mid-winter when it's dark out earlier and the sunrise is later.
A coworker of mine went home from work, slept until 6 p.m, woke up, took a shower and showed up for work again at 7 p.m. He was sitting in the car wondering how come the parking lot was so empty. He then decided to call another coworker and asked why everyone was so late. Let’s just say that he will be known as the guy who showed up for work at 7 p.m instead of 7 a.m for years and years to come.
Load More Replies...there really need to be some memes about insomnia hunger. When I can't sleep, I eat everything in the house!
Yea what you saved by not eating breakfast goes twice by imsomnia munchies

Noone ever heard of the relax method? It's a method where you lay flat on your back and consciously start to command every single body part to relax, starting from your toes. So: Relax toes on the right foot, relax toes on the left foot, relax left foot, relax right foot. Gradually work your way up to your body. I got this tip years ago and for me it works.
Doesnt work with a brain that keeps interrrupting :p

I feel privileged as I'm self employed, working from home, and I can just sleep in the morning if I want to. :P And work in pajamas, rolled in a blanket with a mug of coffee. I live the introvert dream.
I start getting excited about going to bed for the night about an hour after I get up in the morning 🤣
My mom is evil, she makes me get up at six. its like, come on, its not even noon yet!!!

Or, as anyone who has had military training knows... Mine was basic training with the army. Lack of sleep, rest, downtime, vacay, everything. So, during a classroom study period the eyes slowly close but that ever-vigilant DRILL SERGEANT is aware and sees you. He makes you squat and walk like a duck, up and down the aisles, all the while you have to yell, "I wasn't sleeping Drill Sergeant! I was checking my eyelids for holes!" Ah, the good old days...
Don't you hate when your drifting to sleep . . . and feel spiders crawling on your skin ?
For some reason sometimes i wake up at like 11-5 and i read the clock wrong thinking it says six but it doesnt and i think im late for school and i have a panic attack and get ready but its dark out so i think i missed school and then i realize the time
I always say, you know it's going to be a rough day, when the first thing you when you wake up in the morning, is figure out how many hours it is til you can go back to sleep.
