Artist Leaves Funny Signs Around City For People To Find

Artist Michael Pederson leaves clever little works of street art around the city that seem to carry on a conversation with whoever happens to find them. From mock gallery placards to solemn proclamations and funny signs his works of urban art are little bites of humor that will brighten your day.

Pederson began with his art installations in 2013, but not many of his cool artworks last more than a month. “I think we travel through urban space without really seeing it most of the time,” Pederson told CityLab. “I like the idea of interfering with the overly familiar background blur … Ideally with something a passerby might see out of the corner of an eye, like a street sign.”

With a background in painting, music, and film, it seems like he’ll never run out of creative ideas. We look forward to seeing what he comes up with next.

I love the 'Do Not Touch'. Let it grow on it's own without human harm or intervention.

I like them all, but wasn't there a movie about fairies wherein little girls photographed small cutout fairies to look like they inhabited the gardens around their house and convinced adults they were real?

That was featured on a show called Mysteries at the Museum, I saw it as well. That's probably what you were thinking of.

Fabulous, especially #5 Don't tell Them I'm Here' and #7 'Please Wait Here, Your Future Self...' Also right up there are the little people crossing the street and #2 'Please Don't Touch' the dandelion. Heck, they are all wonderful

Hmmmm..... Gives me ideas. Mine would probably be more primitive, but where I live we have an excellent arts district and lots of people who would notice and appreciate.

We should all grab a piece of trash and follow his lead while recycling. So entertaining!

Nice to see someone with a sense of humour looking at the ubiquitous little mubdane things and giving them a humorous twist! I'd be the one watering the dandelion. As for hiding in public, I've got that done to a fine art form.
