50 Times People Didn’t Give A Heck About OSHA Safety Regulations And Did What They Had To Do, As Shared On This Facebook Group
If you’re not new to Bored Panda, you probably know what big fans we all are here of OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration)-related content.
Numerous times we've covered the legendary subreddit OSHA which has set out on a mission to educate people about staying safe at work by showing what incidents lurk around the corner. Check it out here, here and here!
Now, this entertaining Facebook group titled “Looks Like An OSHA Violation But Ok” is a great addition to the educational efforts to remind people that staying safe at work should be the utmost priority!
Home to 492.1K members, the group describes itself as “a place to share images and stories of the most egregious OSHA violations, and other maybe-not-the-best-idea situations.” Scroll down through the batch of examples below!

I think I read somewhere that this is a type of "hazing" to new guys- tbh I'm more concerned that he's that close to it without protective eyewear.
When you have an ample supply of ratchet straps but don’t have an extra $250 for the bigger truck.
Bored Panda reached out to Brook See, the creator of the “Looks Like An OSHA Violation But Ok” Facebook group, to find out more about this awesome community. Boasting a whopping 492.0K members, the group started as a tag group! Brook recounted: “I saw an image posted one day and thought tagging it ‘looks like an OSHA violation but ok’ would have been funny, and fully assumed a group already existed. When I discovered it didn't, I created it.”
The creator of the group knew right away it was going to be big, but he said he had NO idea how big it would actually get! “And how fast. At one point, we were getting a thousand post submissions a DAY,” Brook told us.
When it comes to the content that gets shared on the “Looks Like An OSHA Violation But Ok” group, Brook explained that it’s “curated based on whether or not it relates in any way to any trade, and showing something dangerous, stupid, etc.” Beware that violence and gore are strictly forbidden.
Moreover, the group doesn't allow cross posting or advertising of any kind. “I think the course duration and moderating helped the group's popularity quite a bit, as it had a more curated feel than some of the wilder groups out there,” Brook said.
Make sure to take your OSHA approved 30 minute naps to stay rested and alert
That's going to eat their skin!! You aren't supposed touch it without gloves...I can only imagine their sensitive area's!!!
Don't worry, those are no longer sensitive.
Load More Replies...I'm assuming (hoping) this is a mud bath, I've been to one in Turkey and the mud does look very similar to concrete (and is fantastic for your skin)
I think you're right! It looks to me like the pit is made out of concrete, filled with mud. Look, it even has a little ladder there. I don't know anything about construction, but would workers ever need to fill a concrete pit with concrete like how it looks?
Load More Replies...They are being dehydrated at an astonishing rate, and the longer they stay the worse it will be.
It's mud. No reason for a bunch of ppl to be shirtless and chest deep in a pool of concrete.
U can touch wet concrete. I drive a mixer and I always get some concrete on me when I clean my truck but yeah it dries out your skin SUPER bad
I’m starting to wonder if this is actually a restorative mud bath. Some countries have incredibly mineral rich earth that that many people bathe in for its restorative properties. I highly highly doubt a bunch of men are casually bathing in caustic quick lime/cement…
All I see in these pictures, is the sheer brilliance and ingenuity of the male species
Male *of* the species. Men are not a "species", although, given the evident difference in intelligence, perhaps they are? :)
Load More Replies...A quick reverse image search shows that these are mud baths on the Volcan Del Totumo in Colombia, not a flesh eating concrete bath. No OSHA violation here! https://www.overtheplanet.com/unique-experiences-with-tour-in-the-bay-of-cartagena-with-dinner-included.a166695
mud baths - this is not cement. Bored panda is going downhill with fake posts!
Totumo mud baths. This is a volcanic mud bath. Man bored panda is going down hill now with fake news :)
They're not desperately trying to jump out, perhaps they've done this before?
Now we know how all those workers were encased in the Great Wall of China.
It looks like it is actually a mineral mud bath which are popular in some countries that have mineral rich earth. Mud baths looks very similar to concrete.

Load More Replies...My ex husband did construction, he had a tiny hole in his boot while working concrete and it ate a hole in his toe. He had to go to the ER and was out of work for several days as it just kept going. I really really hope that isnt real concrete, these men could literally die if it is.
So many "hard" jokes ....... so little restraint........MUST scroll on.......
Poor things. I feel sorry for people working where there is no regulated protection for their health and safety
I have a very strong feeling that this is a mud bath. Many countries with mineral rich dirt/earth have outdoor mudbaths where people can bath in the nutrient rich mud which is believed to be good for the skin.
Load More Replies...Mixing concrete. Good spray-down and moisturizer afterword and they'll be okay.
Brook also said that lately, no posts are being approved, or very few and far between. “With a group that size, EVERY post generates a ton of moderating, as people will argue about literally ANYTHING. It's just so much work to keep up with everything, so the group has been semi dormant for a while now.” Not entirely, Brook added, but “Looks Like An OSHA Violation But Ok” is no longer a 24/7 job like it was for some time.
“The audience is a little bit of everybody, but definitely attracts members of any trade,” Brook said when asked about the members of the group. “Due to the nature of the content, I believe this also added to the group's popularity, as much of the content is relevant and/or approachable by a wide audience,” he concluded.
“While perhaps one can say they are 'lucky' nothing has happened, that sort of behavior - the minor breaches - can lead to much bigger ones, or be indicative of general malaise or slipshod behavior, which can mount up and eventually cause huge problems,” Dr. Audrey Tang, a chartered psychologist, media spokesperson and author of multiple books, including "Be A Great Manager Now", "The Leader's Guide to Mindfulness," and "The Leader's Guide to Resilience,” told Bored Panda in a previous interview.
Dr. Tang explained that “with regards to the impact on employees - we only have a finite amount of energy we can devote to productive work within a day.”
She continued: “We know when we are ill, for example, that ability to focus diminishes and performance suffers - if a workplace is making someone sick, you have already reduced productivity (not to mention breached the trust of the employee), but also, even if an employee is worried about something they have noticed that is awry, their own mind will be distracted and in turn affect performance.”
Dr. Tang explained that the research into wellbeing at work previously looked more at the "hygiene factors” because they affected the satisfaction of employees if they weren't present (“a bit like if one didn't wash their hands, they could become ill”). “These include things like working conditions, behavior of immediate management, and the physical workspace.”
“However, more recently, people’s attention and the body of research have shifted more towards the organizational health speaks of 'psychological safety' as another element of health - at least emotional and mental health(!) - in the workplace.”
If a worker doesn't feel psychologically safe, “i.e. they don't feel heard, or perhaps they are criticized all the time, perhaps they don't feel they can ask if they need support,” it can be hugely detrimental to motivation, retention and performance. It also has a tremendous negative impact on the employee's mental and emotional wellbeing.
Concrete slab on water well washed off! Car was parked on the slab
Electrical… Approved!
That is definitely the most inventive way I’ve ever seen a nail clippers used
So my dad it’s cutting some exhaust pipe.
Just another day at the shop
Slav OSHA violation
USS Macon construction in 1906
Temporary wiring of new office lights, and this was done by a person who just renewed his electrical license.
Renewed it on his own laptop perhaps, rather than with an official organisation???
I think the second post behind it is even more disturbing, held up by a screw??!
that is a pair of air damaged ***** and a broken truck waiting to happen.
Why is the van even being incorporated in this project? The ladder is clearly long enough to get to the roof.🤦
Car jenga with blue tooth straps!!!
This is how they have their fridge plugged in no box at all. Old tube and cloth wire.
Breakaway glass replaced with masking tape
I mean duct tape would have been a better choice but ya gotta do what ya gotta do..
Should be ok
Guy at the bottom of ladder is the lookout for wife coming back
This was me, installing a lighting rig for a WWE style wrestling event
My husband does stupid s**t like this all the time
Step 1. Increase his life insurance. Step 2. Find smarter second husband.
To be fair about it, there are 194 countries where OSHA does not have jurisdiction.
There are 194 coutries that probably have equivalents to OSHA
Load More Replies...If you've ever worked with people like this, you know how stubborn they are, and if they're the one in charge, or they're a favorite of the boss, all you can really do is document and quietly make phone calls. There's often a culture of safety avoidance in jobs with long time employees who become complacent. Shortcuts and cost-saving can get out of hand, and as a new employee, you can feel pressured to comply. This kinda s**t has to change.
This is so true. So many people would rather risk losing a limb or their life than follow safety precautions.

This title is awful, as if OSHA, & similar agencies not in the US, IS THE PROBLEM, rather than the necessary body to prevent most preventablee work-related injuries and deaths.
So these are taken by a co-worker or the person they are doing the work for . . . but are not actually helping or making things safe. The only way to be worse is if they were also drinking . . . Does anyone still wonder why women live longer?
These pictures literally made me want to vomit.I wonder how many these people still alive if these are there practices I feel sorry for poor bastards who feel they have to do s**t like this to keep their jobs.
Lotta future Darwin award winners here! Maybe they could get honorable mentions.
all of these people have the potential to be on the Darwin awards
Number 66 is fine, has netting and straps holding the tires on. Most people don't even strap them down. Number 53 on the other hand........
I would be willing to bet that none of these involved women. I see why married women live longer than unmarried men, and why married women do not tlive as long as unmarried ones.
And the Darwin award goes to...... all of the above, Seriously I'm really shocked sometimes some people made it to adulthood.....
My 2nd uncle should join the list. First time using an electric plane. (The woodworking plane, not the flying one) He rested it onto his leg, after he finished, just like he would with a manual one. He forgot to turn it off though.
No pictures of extreme sports? Being upside down riding a bicycle 25 metres above the ground should qualify as exceedingly dangerous and ohs permitted.
This is also a good illustration of why women live longer than men
All of these looks like a Final Destination deth waiting to happen 😅
