On the internet, funny trends pop up all the time. You might’ve heard of "girl math". Initially, it was a light-hearted and witty joke. It served as a playful way for women to justify their spending habits by pretending they had a unique method for calculating expenses. It wasn't meant to be a serious analysis of mathematical abilities but just a fun way to enjoy spending on things you like.

Like many online phenomena, "girl math" took an unexpected turn. It evolved from a joke into an argument when some men online took it a tad too seriously. Instead of recognizing it as playful banter, they saw it as an opportunity to criticize women for lacking math skills. The situation escalated into a gendered debate about mathematical mastery, giving rise to a new internet trend: "boy math."

The emergence of "boy math" posts was a response to the fuss over "girl math." Women who started the joke felt unfairly targeted. So, they decided to create a jest about men as well. "Boy math" involves women sharing funny and ridiculous things men do. It’s like a way to say, "Hey, we can all share a laugh without taking things too seriously." Scroll down to join in on the fun!

agreed - ever tried to get a tubal ligation when you are still in your reproductive years. "No, you might change your mind and want kids". Men still policing women's bodies.

Instead of talking about money or extravagant spending, "guy math" is all about making fun of some silly things that guys do. Like when they say they're 6 feet tall, but in reality, they're 5'10”. While a few posts use real math, most of them are more on the creative side.

A million times this!! It doesn't matter how decent a guy you are (and I am sure you are) if you don't grasp the nettle and call your friend/work colleague/acquintance out for his 'jokes' then you are literally telling him that you agree with him and feeding the whole system. Just a simple "dude, that's not cool, don't be that guy" is all we ask of you.

While "girl math" was mostly fun and light-hearted, where women playfully explained the quirky logic of the trend, "boy math" jokes have recently taken a more serious turn. Some of the most liked posts now talk about topics like age gaps in relationships. For example, one post says, "Boy math is searching for someone 18 at the big age of 50," or "Boy math is being above 30 and dating girls in their late teens or early 20s because you know they can't see the loser in you."

Boy math is to cry about how all women are gold diggers but at the same time hustling so hard to get the money that would attract those exact same women they're crying about.

Beyond the humor of "girl math" and "boy math," these trends provide valuable insights into the way internet culture shapes and reflects broader societal norms.

The heated discussions sparked by "girl math" and "boy math" highlight the ongoing conversation around gender stereotypes. While the trends started as satire, they opened up spaces for conversations about the societal expectations placed on women and men when it comes to finances, emotions, and behavior.

I think the context is clear Lexekon. I also think it is an odd choice of words to say "cannot" when I think they meant "will not". even if you keep things tidy, there are dishes to be washed, dust to be removed, bathrooms to be wiped down and sanitized...

The reason to have a prenup is not only related to your fortune or the exorbitant amount of money you earn, it is to be clear about both what the situation would be when there is a divorce.

Boy maths is asking her when she's going to come and cook for you and thinking she'll still be your girlfriend afterwards.
