The time has come. You're finally quitting your job. Might as well go out with a bang! Don't worry, Even if you go a little bit overboard, what are they going to do? Fire you?

To highlight how satisfying it can be to leave your employer in style, Bored Panda put together a new list of people who just did. From making a meme to naming one of the urinals after themselves, here are some of the most creative "resignation letters" ever written.

My Boss's Secretary Quit This Morning After Delivering Breakfast

To learn more about quits, we contacted Germany-based personal growth and career coach Trish Lee.

"There are numerous reasons why a person should consider leaving their job," Lee, who also creates content for Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube, told Bored Panda. "For example, if they are surrounded by toxic colleagues (and they've tried to improve the situation by talking to their manager or said colleague but nothing changes), the company provides no continuous personal development opportunities, or their job isn't even something they want to do—maybe they got into it just to live someone else's dream. Or maybe they're offered a great long-term career opportunity elsewhere."

If someone is serious about quitting but aren't quite sure yet, Lee said it would be a good idea to start by simply considering the pros and cons of staying vs. leaving. "You can even write everything down on paper or an Excel sheet for better clarity!"

"Try to do some background checks on the new company if it fits your personal growth needs, financial needs, technical skills, future career goals, company culture (check reviews on Glassdoor, Kununu, and Google)," the career coach advised.

"If still in doubt, accept the invitation to go for an interview (for this, it's important to have a list of questions ready!). Clarify any doubts you may have about the new job or company background."

Lee highlighted that going for an interview doesn't automatically mean you're agreeing to the offer but it can provide valuable information and make your decision a lot easier. "It is just an opportunity for you to have a deeper understanding of the job and whether it suits you, while it gives the recruiter a chance to get to know you better if you suit the job—think of it like going for a first date! It doesn't mean you're gonna get married."

The personal growth and career coach reassured that when someone is good at what they do and believes in their capabilities, there will always be a stream of opportunities that will come their way.

But with that being said, Lee doesn't think that quitting your job on the spot is a smart move. "If you resign too soon but, for example, haven't got sufficient savings to tide you over the next few weeks or months until you find a new job, you are putting yourself in unnecessary stress."

"The interview process (from application to the actual interviews to signing a contract) can potentially take months in some companies!"

Unless, of course, you're in a really bad situation, like "the VP of your company or colleagues are sexually harassing you or bullying you in some horrible way. Which by the way, please report it to the police and consider sharing your experience online (Glassdoor, Kununu, and Google)."

At the end of the day, trust your gut. "Doing a job because of the salary is a good form of extrinsic motivation, but it can never give you true happiness and a sense of purpose," Lee said.

"When selecting a job, it is important to do something that gives your life meaning and joy (this is how intrinsic motivation and a sense of fulfillment is created). It really doesn't matter if that means being a bartender, a cashier, a hairdresser, an entrepreneur, an engineer, whatever. Your position or salary does not equate to your self-worth. This is a misconception many people have."

Your aim, according to Lee, should be to find a place where you are about 80% happy, leaving the rest 20% for possible minor inconveniences that both you and the company can work on in the future.

I hope these resignation letters will inspire you towards positive change.

Saying STFU to your boss kinda guarantees you have to remove that entire job from your CV because future employers might phone them to find out how you were as a worker... and they'll say, "Oh him? He told me to STFU, so there's that."

How did the two weeks notice ever even start? It takes my company longer than two months to even post the job, let alone hire and train someone new so what is the point of it? It’s not like you could all of a sudden finish all your work in two weeks either. It’s so awkward to have to stick around for two weeks after you’ve made it known you no longer liked the job.

I did exactly this after 2 years in company, plus one semiyear during pandemic. I closed the shop 1am, at 9am I got 22messages on my day off. My only reply: resigned, effective now. Solicitor details. And I removed any connection with the company, people, shops they have. Any manager who brings you to say STFU doesn't deserve anything. Thanks to the last company I have made it my mission to make sure people I interact with and hire do not let me or any other manager speak to them like sh*t. Your lowest paid worker is usually the face of the company. when your manager says "you need this job, you have to be available and ready in case we text" you quit. If people wouldn't be afraid to stand for themselves or afraid to lose salary things would change faster. Expecting workers to be early, stay longer and then you scream at them should never be tolerated. If those were children and manager a teacher. He would be jailed

All an employer can do is give your dates of employment, title and wage information. Two weeks notice is kind of b.s. If you are getting laid off or terminated, you usually don’t get notice of that.

In the US, a 2-week notice is actually NOT required. It is the professional thing to do, as it gives the employer time to try to hire/train a replacement. But it ISN'T required. And let's be honest: how often do employers treat their employees professionally? Do employees get a 2-week notice to find a new job, when they're laid off? Not usually. And of course they never get one when they're fired, even if that firing is for completely made up bullsh!t reasons. And yes, that does happen. So, yeah, u should try to give notice. But sometimes, u just can't. We've all worked sh!tty jobs, and stayed way too long, because we all have bills. Sometimes, though, ur treated like sh!t for so long, that u finally reach ur breaking point. Or something so bad or unfair happens, that u just can't go on. In those cases, I like to think of it as you firing your employer. And, like I said, nobody gets a 2-week notice when they're fired. At least this person let their employer know, instead of just disappearing.

THIS is GOLD. FK your advance notice. 99% of companies will fire you on the spot anyway. Also, no employer EVER gives an employee advance notice they are going to be fired, so why TF do they think they are entitled to advance notice? FK that...

I've only ever given one job a two week notice. That was only because any time an employee put in their notice the petty boss fired them on the spot ans then claimed the quit and fought their unemoyemnt. So, I was the first person in the history of the company that put in a 2 week notice with an official letter of resignation, gave it to the boss, HR, and had a copy myself. My hope was that he would still fire me and I could collect unemployment for two weeks until my next job started. He didn't do that, but I've never put in a 2 week notice. I've never met an employer in my life that would give me a 2-week notice. Even when I was laid off and the company new they'd be losing their contract with our client a month in advance. They waited until we all came in the day after the contract expires and laid us off. Screw the employer, if they can't cover an employee not showing up to their shift or quiting then they don't have enough people working and it's most likely a terrible job

How many bosses give you a 2 weeks notice before firing you/laying you off? It's professional to make sure a company isn't inconvenienced by workers quitting but it's what? when a company shows you the door the minute it makes sense for them even though you actually need that money to live off of?!

Employers should get 2 weeks if they deserve it. Most don't. What is extremely unprofessional is the fact an employer can use and abuse a worker then fire them with no recompense for no damn reason with no damn notice. Props to this dude

Unless there's a contract in place, no job "requires" two weeks notice. It's not a law or rule. It's a professional courtesy that benefits ONLY the employer. If an employer can tell you not to come in tomorrow you're fired, I see no reason why an employee can't say, I'm not coming in tomorrow, I quit ✌️

the employee is right, after all, employers can call you to work a shift you weren't scheduled for, so why the 2-week notice? it's not like they can find someone else in 2 weeks anyway. I also heard you can fire through email nowadays, so there.

What baffles me is how many people think this is okay. this boss said "good luck" and got basically a slap on the mouth in retaliation. It might be a shitty boss - it might not, we don't know - but how you act just says a lot about YOU. Not about them. So this guy would not get a job from me without putting him under close supervision. Most likely I wouldn't hire him at all. I really dislike rude people.

My main concern with using an actual card is they cost like $2 whereas the paper in the office costs you $0.

Punishment. This isn't grade-school folks. If you haven't committed an actual crime and you're being "punished" (jobs, relationships, whatever), just friggin' WALK OUT.

I Got The Offer To My Dream Job And Sent This Resignation Letter To My Division President And CC’d HR When I Quit On The Spot

I Got The Offer To My Dream Job And Sent This Resignation Letter To My Division President And CC’d HR When I Quit On The Spot

The letter says: "I am resigning effective immediately. By the time I have sent this email I will have already dropped my laptop off with IT and probably left the building. I want you to know that the reason I am leaving is because you specifically have created one of the most toxic work environments I have ever worked in. I have never worked in an environment where I have had to defend someone from being fired because of their accent or because they had to miss work due to medical reasons. Both of which I have had to do with you. I have never worked in an environment where someone in management was so micromanaging as you yet knew so little of the actual work it takes to get those tasks done as I have with you. And finally I have never worked in an environment where I could be warning management of issues that prevent us from accomplishing our goals only to be ignored then be lectured when things go south because of the issues I tried to flag.
I truly don't know how this division has not imploded due to the micromanaging and toxicity at the top levels and I will be very happy to leave."

Reminds me of a job my son quit (a supervisor gave him a heads up that particular facility would be closing for good in 1 month and told him who to apply to for a new job). For years they had been shutting down production to reboot the system due to some issue that would happen. My son showed them they didn't need to reboot thus saving them a lot of time and trouble. Due to the nature of the business, once he gave notice, standard practice is to escort the now former employee out. As they're doing so, he gets paged to come fix the system. He asked them what they wanted him to do, leave or fix the system? SO they lead him to the computer, he fixed the glitch, again for the umptenth time, and then they walked him out. In all the years he was there, they never bothered to learn what it was he'd do to save them from doing a total shutdown.
