I made an account just so I could tell you- you are loved. You are needed. You will be missed. You have to fight this- because life will get better, even if it takes time. And your brain is lying to you as you shake your head "no" to every single statement I just made. Depression changes our perceptions so we think we're seeing things more "realistically" but we're not. We just aren't. I've been there. I have some idea of how you're feeling right now- thought not entirely, because I've not walked in your shoes. The fact that you said this online means that, even if it's in some very small way, you don't want to die. You wanted someone to notice. Even if it's just a tiny part of your brain that wants to live- you have that desire. Please please please reach out. There are hotlines. I've called them. If you don't want to call the hotline, that's okay too- but talk to someone. Don't stay in the echo chamber of your own dark thoughts. Praying for you <3

I’ve had my share of “close calls”. I don’t know what your issue(s) happen to be, obviously, but I encourage you to hang in there. You never know when things will get better, or when you will feel marginally better about them despite the things not changing. I thought I’d kill myself before I turned 30 and now I’m 44. You’ll always have the choice to end it, but not the choice to take it back.

You are better than that. You are not a burden. You have people here.

Hey mate, I've been there. I've actually made a comment like yours on BP, saying the same thing. You know what, I'm still there kind of. 83 days clean from SH, I still constantly get suicidal thoughts, it's a battle every day. But I know it's really not worth it. It's not. I know if you read this you're probably like "yeah they all say that" and "what does she know" and things like that. I don't know what you're going through, but it will get better. Weeks without showers, feeling alone, all that is just how it is sometimes. But it will get better. It will not be easy, and you'll struggle, but you will get better, and you'll realise one day what an awful time it was. Was, past tense, you'll get through this. I'm here if you ever need to talk, and there are so many of us on here available, and there is support available. Please.

I hope this comment finds you alive and well, and I hope seeing all of these people telling you that there is love and appreciation for life helps you to know not everything is bad. You have value, and even if you cannot see it, there is value in every life, especially yours because it belongs to you and no other. ;

I'm off the (unpopular opinion) that anyone who is at least 25, has wanted to die for at least 2 years, and has tried medicine, has the right to choose to die. I am torn on whether you give that right up if you have kids or not. And I've battled depression myself, so I know both sides. But I will tell you that at my lowest, I picked a medicine and asked my doctor for a script, and he gave it without question, and it saved me. 2 years later I got off. I'm not saying that every day since has been great, but I have 2 more kids that I wouldn't have had if I had given up, and so many people's lives are better because I'm here. If you haven't tried meds, please do. You can do your own research, get something that seems good, most regular doctors will give basic d***s without asking questions (and if they don't, find an online pharmacy in Canada). I can't promise it will change your life, but give them 2 months(because they build up slowly). What do you have to lose?

well been there, done that - tried to do it, ended up in hospital for 4 weeks, was horrible. I was more dead than alive for some days, needed emergency care for 5 days. It´s just few months ago, yet well... just try not to go down that lane, as one that went through this I can tell you that :/

Please don't give up. I know how hard it is, I really do (because I had the same thing 2 years ago and I actually tried the un-alive process. I'm really lucky to fail. But now I'm in a much better place. So trust me. I know it feels like there's nothing in the world you like, I know how you think you have nobody. You don't have to do big things, just hang in. Believe me, if you can get out of bed in the morning, that's an achievement. Don't beat yourself up, appreciate even the smallest things you do, because you are strong. Just keep going. It might feel like this dark moment is not getting better. But I promise you, it will get better. Just hang in there. Love you all ♥️♥️

I hope you are okay. I don't think anyone stops to check the username for perceived gender before offering support... That is, I know I don't. I think it's more likely the other comment was first, or higher, or people don't always respond to the comment they mean to respond to. Still, it's well known that men get less support in these things and that's a serious issue!
