Tel-Aviv-based illustrator Yehuda Devir and his wife Maya Devir have shared their loving relationship with the world through his ongoing series “One of Those Days”, from silly everyday problems to life-changing decisions. The last time Bored Panda published the couple we featured Yehuda’s funny comic chronicles of their year-long journey to make a baby, followed by the announcement that Maya was expecting a baby. “We had been trying to conceive for about a year,” Yehuda told Bored Panda in 2018, “While doing so, we’ve realized that a family of our own is the biggest creation we can hope for.” Well, the couple is back and their newest adventure – Maya’s pregnancy- has been illustrated to comedic perfection.

“We’re pregnant!!!!”

Yehuda and Maya began their pregnancy journey in 2018 and said the process was difficult for both of them. “The hardest parts were at the end of each month when Maya used to have her period,” said the artist. “Continuously dealing with a lack of success makes you feel as if you aren’t in control of your life. It’s a terrible feeling.”

However, despite the challenges, this creative and funny couple made it through because of their strong bond. “We’ve been together for such a long time that our friendship and love seem so strong, it feels like we can achieve everything if we work together. Challenges make us stronger,” said Yehuda.

Fans of the duo love the couple for sharing these relatable challenges and hilarious moments, “Viewers see their life through “One of those days” and feel that they are not alone… There are other people somewhere in the world who are just like them, who experience ups and downs in their relationships [as well] and it gives [them] a sense of relevance.”

Yehuda and Maya first met during their military service and formed a relationship after a long period of friendship. “Our cartoon drawing series “One of those days” is based on everyday life moments that happened to us and was about creating fun memories by illustration.”

While Yehuda is the main illustrator of these highly relatable comic series, his now pregnant wife is also an artist and helps him with concepts and composition sketches. “After that, I sit down and start working. When I finish, Maya adds her suggestions for improvement, suggesting color, typography, and so on. All of this process takes no more than a day.”
