Same experience when we had to say goodbye to our cat. He needed prescription food, we had just gotten a bag that we hadn't opened yet. They also refunded our money and told us to donate the food, cancelled the auto-ship before I thought to, sent a card and also sent a dozen roses. Such amazing and compassionate service.

I love the people at chewy. Several years ago they sent me two paintings of my dog from the profile as a Christmas gift. I still have these and am so blessed since my dog was killed by a hit and run driver while I was in the hospital last year.

that's so cute! we get food from a company here in the UK called Butternut. When they found out that our dog had cancer (he is now in full remission 2 years later) they sent him out a stuffed armadillo toy to keep him company through all his treatments. i cried.

The fatigue, the nausea, the constant heartburn, the insomnia, the constant feeling of being uncomfortable, the back pain and hip pain and so much more physical symptoms everyone is so aware of. What isn’t spoken about so much is the fear and anxieties, the constant checking the toilet paper after every wipe for fear of losing your little one, the fear of will you be enough, will you be a good mum, will your relationship survive. The constant questioning yourself is sometimes enough to send you insane.”

Lastly, we were curious what advice Claire would give to other moms-to-be or new moms who might be facing some of the less glamorous aspects of motherhood. Falconer shared with us: “Do what you need to do in order to survive, there is no 'right way' to do things (obviously within reason). You will get so much advice from so many people and it’s often so overwhelming and this adds to the stress of motherhood. Trust your gut, and do what works for you, your family, and your baby. No baby, no mother is the same. You do you!”

Poor guy, it looks like he needs time to gather his thoughts. When my wife told me she was pregnant with our first child, I sat down on the stairs stunned for a few seconds, realized that probably wasn't the best response, then got up and hugged her. It didn't quite come off as the spontaneous joy I had hoped for.

Your brain does actually shrink a little bit, and seriously you do feel stupid. Then you get the baby and you're sleep deprived so you still feel dumb, but you gain some crazy super powers, like amazingly fast reflexes. I also had incredible throwing aim: anything I threw toward a target hit it exactly. Laundry into a basket half the room away, crumpled paper into the bin, etc.
