Nils Jacobi, self-described as a "catographer", is back on Bored Panda! He is known for capturing unique and quirky photographs of cats and today we want to share some of his funny pictures of felines crossing a paper wall.

Jacobi began his photography journey in 2011 upon completing his studies in industrial design. After exploring various areas of photography, he made a decision to focus on working with cats due to the increased attention his cat photos received compared to his other work.

Jacobi has previously shared with Bored Panda that he admires cats because of their independence and insatiable curiosity. Interestingly, the photographer finds cat tongues particularly fascinating. "Sometimes people send me messages saying they have had cats for years but never saw them that way. I just want the viewers to take away some serotonin and see the cats from my point of view."

We got in touch with Jacobi again to learn a bit more about himself and this project. We were curious to know how the photographer came up with the idea to photograph cats in a paper hole. "Everyone who knows cats knows that they love boxes with holes in them," the artist replied. "That's how I got from one to the other. I always thought it looked so funny when they stuck their head or paw through the hole. It's important to me that the cats have a lot of fun during the photoshoot. Cats love when they can hide and attack from ambush. I also like the clean look and the focus on the face and their expression."

Being adaptable and considering the specific needs of each cat is crucial in cat photography. Some cats are timid and prefer minimal attention, while others thrive when they're in the spotlight. However, photographing and managing cats is not the most difficult part for Jacobi. Carefully curating and editing photographs is where the real challenge lies for the photographer.

Jacobi shared that he wants his viewers to have a good time watching his shots. "I never expected that the whole thing would get so huge and people all over the world start sending me images of my cats on products, in advertisements, tv shows, newspapers, etc."
