Bite a breeder today. Let’s hear it for the shelter pups! Good dawgzies.
How awesome! Imagine knowing you've touched someone like that. And for him to let her know -- I just have the happy feels right now.
Often, wholesomeness hits that much harder when we least expect it. It’s an unfortunate reality, that interacting with a business can be exhausting and time-consuming, when it comes to refunds, sorting out shipping issues and replacements, and any other customer service topics. So when a company makes “going above and beyond” not just the purview of a hardworking employee, but policy, people tend to notice.
Take Zappos, the American online shoe and clothing retailer. Beyond a commitment to customer convenience, like a 365-day return policy and free shipping on a number of transactions, the company rewards workers who go the extra mile for their customers. For example, they reportedly had a 10:29 hour customer service call, when a client forgot about a return request when a loved one unexpectedly passed. Zappos sent a replacement for free and some flowers, after waiting on the line.
Even the non-human world is actually full of wholesome moments if you just know where to look. The animal kingdom, for example, is chock full of things that make us go “aww,” but most people stop at kittens and puppies. But all sorts of animals do things that are both fascinating and deeply cute. Otters holding hands is a classic, but did you know that honey bees have dance-offs?
Cows also maintain friendships and like to hang out with their best friends whenever they can. Even more committed, penguins, along with a lot of other birds, mate for life, and will even “propose” to a mate, often with a pebble. Of course, some birds really do take it to the extreme when it comes to impressing a potential mate, for example, building art displayed, fighting rivals, or even very intense forms of dance.
Squirrels and bats both have social systems to take care of orphans. Squirrels will adopt babies whose parents have died and carry them around like their own offspring. Various species of bats do the same, while the most organized version are “bat orphanages,” where groups of bats roost together and females come to feed orphaned babies. These are highly social animals with a pretty advanced solution to this problem.
This one always makes me smile. At times, I think everyone needs laughing luggage.
I hate to be that guy, but in the UK that bill would be $0. Total. Ever. And as a diabetic, all his other prescriptions would be free for life too.
And our government pays less per capita for healthcare than the US government does too. So the government is spending more over there and yet most people still have to pay huge bills.
Load More Replies...Yes it is. Assuming that this plays out in the USA I can't, for the life of me, understand why one of the wealthiest countries in the world lets their citizens die for lack of affordable insulin. Shame on all who stand in the way of universal healthcare!
Load More Replies...And it would cost less than $10 a 30 day supply if we just got rid of 2 pieces of regulation that affect high medicine prices in the US, but that politicians don't want to remove. Professor Robin Feldman outlines this in her book "Drug Wars: How Big Pharma Raises Prices & Keeps Generics Off the Market" we would lower the prices on dozens of meds with that. High Prices are the fault of congress
Diabetes is scary. My husband was feeling ill and as I am driving him to the ER, he is making jokes. I wondered if he really was sick. We got there and they put him in a wheel chair and he suddenly went unconscious. From totally normal and feeling sick to almost a coma. He was lucky it was just a faint. Scared me though. Turned out to be Type 2 Diabetes. That was 9 years ago and he is on insulin daily ever since. Luckily he has good health insurance with his job. The US sucks big time.
That will never happen. The insurance industry and its lobbyists pay a lot of many to many legislatures across the country. There are also lobbying groups for Big Pharma and then you have hospitals that are owned by investors. Big money, Wall St. types. Until we get rid of Dark Money and outlaw corporations as donors to politicians, the US will continue to decline as a society. And yes, I'm an American.
Load More Replies...Some people have to pay $12000 for something that literally keeps them alive?!?!
It is so heartbreaking that so many people have to forego life-saving operations and/or medications because healthcare in the United States is absolutely bonkers and horrible. Families should not have to bankrupt themselves or start GoFundMe pages in order to help pay for their child's cancer treatment.
Thus proving that all legislators should be used as lab rats for testing deadly diseases and the associated medical costs.
I sadly remember Michael Moore in his film "Sicko" going in Avana, Cuba, with some 9/11 heroes with breath problem due to their exposition to venomous powder of neon lamps of collapsed buildings, but not helped by government in any manner. shortly, one girl of this group has to use for entire life an asthma inhaler which cost in USA about 120$, , founding that a cuban inhaler with same active principle, costs 80 cents. I'm from Italy, and for whatever kind of medical treatment, surgery, transplant or anything will eventually in need during my life, I will never pay any bill. (right now I have 3 by-pass in abdomen arteries, and also one arterie prothesis, everything paid from our medical assistence). all this shame has been told billions time, but remain one of most dark spots of USA, a great country where people deserve better care, without choice about stay alive or selling their properties, at least who has something to sell...
Knew someone who couldn't afford his insulin, so he doled it out to make it stretch, but that's not how insulin works.
our politicians spend WAAAY too much time in the pockets of companies with money to burn... and they burn us constantly
'As someone that was born with a lifelong degenerative disease ( Cystic Fibrosis, plus cystic fibrosis related diabetes), I am so lucky to live in the UK. I'm on 23 different medications daily, and that number increases multiple times throughout the year as i get severe chest infections and require hospitalisation and intravenous antibiotics. with the most expensive costing around 300k a year I'd likely be dead if not for the NHS. I feel very lucky and fortunate to have been born in the country where this is possible
So you had to experience it in order to do anything. Maybe visit some schools!!
And the party from the Red states has been trying hard to pass a law outlawing a limit on the price of $35.
It’s a great start. Keep going at big pharma until they grovel and do anything you say.
It's h.ard to believe they charge people so much $ just so they can stay alive
Now this issue effects me I feel the need to do something about it ... was he campiaging for this kind of measure before it became something he needed? If not, I'm not all that impressed.
don't f*cking praise him. If he didn't have diabetes he would have done nothing about it. Just another self serving politician. Although it would be nice if nasty sh*t happened to politicians and their families for them to realise that there are people out there not as fortunate as them
What a disgusting comment. Get off your damned high horse. So people with diabetes and other chronic illnesses don’t deserve affordable medications that help keep them alive?
Load More Replies...A lot of the cost people complain about is that they are using the brand name, prefilled syringes. If they got the vials of generic, that they have to draw it up themselves, they can be as cheap as $10 per vial. Even Walmart has a cap what they charge for a month's supply of a generic insulin. Yes, it's a little bit more of an inconvenience, and yes, it's not BRAND NAME, but it's not like there isn't an alternative and they are being refused life-saving medication.
My mom has been a diabetic for 30+ years and used to use those little glass bottles all the time. But over time her body now only responds best to a short-acting formulation of insulin that’s available only in a prefilled syringe. Don’t assume it’s just laziness. There’s a lot of reasons people choose the insulin they do, and they don’t deserve to be price gouged for it
Load More Replies...There are countless other examples of things, creatures, and even people that are and act wholesome, an emotion that makes us happy and shows us that there is something good in the world. For all the chaos and negativity on the internet (and, really, everywhere,) digital communication lets us spread these ideas and images. In a sense, it promotes wholesomeness, as often selfless behavior goes unrewarded and unseen.
The human need for this sort of content is reflected in the trends we see on TikTok, Twitter, and yes, even here on Bored Panda. Wholesome, joyful images, memes, and stories are all a salve against doom-scrolling and other words we use to describe the omnipresence of negative content, fear-mongering, and rage bait. The ubiquity and common, everyday use of those words shows just how far “internet negativity” has penetrated our collective psychology.
fun fact-most dogs are allergic to chocolate, but some are not and, while they cannot eat it safely, but will not die (much of this is dependent on weight) my friends dog apparently got into the fridge and ate a WHOLE GODDAMN CHOCOLATE CAKE and was fine afterwards.
Sadly, German Shepherds with dwarfism suffer from a myriad of health issues and do not live long.
Ugh, I looked mine up and its in the middle of the ocean near Australia.. Don't think I can get anyone to play that game :D
My mum is always like "you don't have to stop" and gets annoyed if I do it. I NEED TO AND WANT TO MUM
i'm not sure if i'll get super downvoted for this, but i watch 911 and i recently heard there is a big group of buddie shippers that are mad because the show is supposedly queerbaiting. Some of their arguments consist in Eddie screaming Buck's name when Buck was struck by a lightning and them holding hands when Buck was pulling Eddie from a colapsing building. All I see is a very nice and rare type of friendship, where one is constantly there for the other, and I find very sad that some people are not used to this anymore. I remember McDanno's friendship from hawaii 5-0 and i really wish more shows had this kind of relationship again, but i'm not certain if it wouldn't get mistaken for something else and hated on.
Yeah, slightly less sweet when you know that he was physically abusive to her during their relationship.
Some of these ain't even wholesome. They're for an entirely different list and I'm disappointed
Ikr. Near the end (now that all the irrelevant ones are at the bottom of the list), I had to double check that I hadn't accidentally tapped into a different list altogether.
Load More Replies...In my culture, the elder men of the family pay like father, elder brothers etc. So sure about the price tag, but i still remember my hand were nimb shaking eith so many people, and feet were dead weight stand for a good 4- 5 hours in heels with a bridal dress weighing 12 kgs.
