You can't just say that they're fundamentally supposed to kill people for their God when that just isn't true. I've read through the entire Quran several times, truthfully, and at no point is there instruction to kill people in the name of God. In fact, the Quran teaches against violence in almost all cases. For example; The Quran says that to take a life is to take all lives. It says that, if possible, peace should be made between believers and non-believers, and that violence is only permitted if violence is being done to you. And even then, you're only permitted to be violent for as long as you're persecuted. Any action beyond what's necessary to protect yourself from violence is considered a sin. I don't say all of this as part of brochure trying to convert anyone to Islam, but I was unsure what was in the Quran; I read it to gain a better understanding. And I think any educated Muslim who isn't being deceived for political purposes will also see that the Quran instructs peace.

Janica, I know that the Christians are fundamentally supposed to be violent, though mainly according to the Old Testament. Jesus was more into having you hate your family and loved ones and follow him while you wait for the end of the world (which was supposed to happen 2000 or so years ago) and never washing your hands. I am not disregarding the flaws of Christianity, it merely isn't a point here. Superlimnial1 - How is "Well-meaning, religious hypocrites" an oxymoron? At most it's a generalization. I'm saying that most religions contain a lot of violent rhetoric, and the well-meaning ones usually ignore it in favour of only following the good parts, which, when taken as a whole, is hypocritical if you claim that the holy book is in fact, a holy book.
