Sitting in my hairdresser's chair I feel as if I was on the psychologist's couch. We talk both about the stuff that's bothering me and all the little nothings that make me happy. I walk out relieved and also with a better hairstyle. Or if you're not talkative, imagine finding the best hairstylist that never says a word at all. Heaven. Often it's too easy to take a pleasant barber experience for granted.
To remind everyone that they are people (and therefore entitled to a shitty mood) too, Bored Panda has collected a list of hilarious hairstylist memes. Turns out their line of work is so much harder than just chit chatting, snipping some locks and making hair memes - from dealing with clients to keeping up a diet, most of their daily struggles, turned into funny memes about work, are there. So if you ever find yourself wondering how can Edward Scissorhands possibly dare to trim your bangs without a broad smile, you will have some hairstylist quotes to remember. Scroll down to check out the funny memes and upvote your favorites.

The whole time in that bloody chair is awful, staring at your own face for an age, confronting all superficial insecurities and your own mortality whilst making small talk with the scissor wielding maniac cutting your lovely hair off that you weren't event sure you wanted cut in the first place...funny meme though
The first thing I always tell my hairdresser when I sit down is "I've been hacking at it here and there myself"
God I hate shampoo bowls, they're so uncomfortable ://. I feel like my neck is about to snap.
unfortunately the last 12 years i only run into hairdressers that mess up my bangs worse than I 'll do so I'll just cut them myself. Usually goes really well.
I always say that and my hairdresser looks terrified, but I always love what she does and can't see why she's scared
People just need to love their natural skin color no matter what color it is, because they are all beautiful colors. I hate "tan trends" or "pale trends"
Could anyone tell me (a male) how long it might approximately take and what's the price range to be expected? I guess 1 hour and 80$ is considered a joke.
Or 3 years apprenticeship with 3 exams. "Oh can you just 'quickly' cut the fringe [for free of course', so many times it's not funny. Nobody ever questions the plumber who takes £70 just to turn up and then takes £120 for every hour.
Pharmacists too, my mom's back is a mess after almost 30 years on her feet at work
I had to endure sitting next to a very young child that was screaming inconsolably while the parent was trying to keep him still for 30 min. I could tell the hair dresser was rethinking their decision getting into the industry.
Ahh so that's why hairdressers tut at me when dying my hair! I have loads of hair and they always have to go back for more colour. Sorry :(
I had a similar experience, but it was with eyebrows. She practically waxed me bald and I cried I was so upset about it.
Well.. i'm 42.. I just now found a hairdresser that does mine right.. so.. (and I'm sticking to her now, even though she is annoying and keeps chatting while I prefer the silent treatment) Oh. And I pay her fee. No doubt, no questions. And I add a tip (which is not usual here, in Europe)
When a woman finds a good stylist she stays with them. The most loyal relationship since well ever lol
I hate my hair before and after a cut. I do this frequently. Sorry :\
Had a 10 minute rule. Considered it a missed appt. and they had to pay me for my time. Cost of a haircut
My favorite is when they ask what product I use and I tell them I use shampoo and a comb, no heat, no products and they try to convince me to get a cut that requires a blow dryer, flat iron, curling iron, 4 types of serum and 3 cans of hairspray. Shampoo and a comb, I'm too lazy to deal with more than that!
pee first. don't make yourself uncomfortable on my account. i'm sitting the whole time anyway, not standing like the hairdresser.
HOW DO PEOPLE GET THEIR HAIR THAT LONG?!?!?!?!?! (Asking cos I can't figure out why my hair won't grow >:( )
I honestly don't get the box dye hate. Just be smart about it and you're fine. Its the box bleaches that i suspect would cause some serious nightmares. Or those fools that think pouring peroxide directly on your hair is a great way to lighten it.
Man, some of these hairstylists just seem like petty a******s that don't want to acknowledge that their clients are people. I'm terribly sorry that the wash bowl is extremely painful for me, like I actually dread having my hair cut because I know they'll put me in this thing and it causes me pain for days afterwards. Not all of your clients are doing things just to bother you...
Mmmh I don't see the point her. Do clients have to hide the fact they actually touch their own hair to fix it the way they like?
🤢🤢 I don’t care what hair type you claim to have. That’s f*****g nasty.
On the plus side, you've probably effed up your finger prints so go and commit some crimes!
I was told to avoid Pantene as it coats your hair in wax and makes it break, which is what always happens if I use it, thought it was just me
Try to understand that cancellations last minute (family emergencies are obviously excluded - no hairstylist meme has ever called out someone for canceling over a death. Sigh.) not only mean a loss of income for the stylist- but that a potential or even existing client may have been turned down for that day to accommodate you. If the stylists rent, the rent for the chair is still due that day but that last minute cancellation means that Income is now not coming in. If you do understand it but don’t care, then you should not see a professional stylist.
Or when you try to tilt their head to the side and the either don’t move or the move their head in the opposite direction of what you what them to tilt it.
That’s is one awful hair cut. It’s even uneven at the back, with long hairs sticking out. The front is very uneven also 😂
I do it in reverse so my hair gets silky but doesn’t get oily as f**k in two seconds.
This applies to pet groomers too. Our two busiest weeks of the year are Thanksgiving and Christmas. Everyone wants the puppy to look good for the pictures too.
lol this happened once when I didn't get a hair cut for 2 years and the manager happened to walk by and says "wow her ends are shot!" I wanted to defend myself but knew she was right deep down
I feel the same when I see this happening in American hospitality, the idea that you should live party or mostly on tips is just ridiculous... A tip is an extra gesture to approve of whatever stunt-request you managed to provide (in Europe) greatly appreciated and given by a kind and satisfied heart, it should be a bonus. You all just deserve proper pay to start with, no-one should live on tips, you should be paid for what you do and not have to rely on every whim ot your customer. Stupid system, break it down.
People working in beauty industry have this 'I know better than you'r sense of entitlement. It is true that a certified, practicing technician will be more knowledgeable and efficient than a layperson but there is no need to rub it on anyone's face. I stopped going to salons because I hate it when they try to impose products and styles on me.
Agreed. I stopped going to them years ago and do my own hair. I went back once a couple of years ago, and regretted it. It's a job. Do your job. I do mine, my husband does his, and my daughter does hers. If you don't like it, get out and choose something else.
Load More Replies...My Landlord is a Hairdresser and I live above his Salon. My kitchen window is directly above their rear door where stylists congregate for breaks and cigarettes and his office is adjacent to my front door. Sound carries and I cant help but overhear some very interesting stuff. Be very careful what you confide to your stylist
Ex-wife is hair stylist. She lies to people, knows nothing, makes stuff up and acts as though she went to 6 years of medical school and knows how to cut hair. THEY CUT HAIR. Anyone with a brain can do it. stop acting like you are some sort of genius and we are idiots.
Back in the days as a hairdresser I had a couple of people who wanted a 'complete makeover' because they were soooooo bored with their style, yet they didn't want me to cut anything off, no hairdye or highlights and no perm. Effing hell, their usual it was [yet again].
Probably what they wanted was thick, long and glossy hair, without any damage.

My niece was an excellent hair stylist, who left the business completely. Now I know why!
I feel sorry for my hairdresser - Due to health issues I lost 25% of my hair and it has only been regrowing for the past few months. Therefore a quarter of the hair on my head is 2" or less, frizzy and sticks out everywhere through the rest of my shoulder length style.
The prices they charge are ridiculous! I've been cutting my own hair for the last three years.
