When you're young, all you want to do is grow up. But then you hit your twenties and you begin to realize that growing up isn't as great as it once seemed. Because growing up doesn't just mean being taller, being able to drive, and being able to buy your own alcohol AND consume it. It also means having responsibilities, having to answer awkward questions about your career prospects and family plans, and, well, basically acting all grown up and mature.
If you're a twentysomething struggling to cope with adulthood then, as you can see from these tweets compiled by Bored Panda, you're not the only one.

lol - This is what happens when you wait too long.... you go by yourself!
you dont have to be depressed to eat icecream for dinner(or in my case, breakfast) just single.
I am in the middle of these 2 groups and there is hardly anyone to hang out with anymore!
This is a cultural difference, I guess, but when I was young and saw in American films, series and cartoons parents sending their children to their room as a punishment, I never understood the purpose behind it. Now I do see why, but when I was a kid, it was like "why would they be sent to their room where they have all the cool toys and games and all? In Japanese cartoons, on the other hand, teenagers would drammatically run into their room (or out of their home) when they'd have a family quarrel with their parents. This one made much more sense to me. When I was a kid, as punishment, we'd usually tend to be told to go to the (empty) corner, sit down and do nothing, or we'd be stopped from going out meeting with friends.
Yes!! It's that joke where you don't know if you should congratulate your friend or offer to drive her to the clinic.
Most of the time it's caused by doing something stupid like lifting heavy stuff. Or your kid...
Thank goodness 20s are not the best - it really does get better if you keep learning and break that routine by taking risks and really live!
So true. Who has time to reply to messages and emails?! Real life just gets in the way
I absolutely do not have the money to get a daily milkshake. Thanks Bill Murray, now I feel worse.
Lol Oh so true.....all my friends now have babies......plan destroyers!!!
So true. Why do we have to stop dreaming and conform to what society wants for us? #condossuck
Getting older (late 30s), wondering what on earth this c**p they're playing the radio is.
I'm 29 and I think the same as you. Commercial radio sucks! I listen to music from the 60s-90s because it was better. Most songs nowadays, have absolutely no meaning!
Load More Replies...I will tell you what an adult is: when you wonder what all those 20-25 year olds are blabbing about in an adult post. You're not adults... you're freaking kids!
I'm sorry, but I don't think you understand how most people are classified as adults when they turn a certain age. All of them being younger or around 20-25 years old. On the other hand, it might just be you being 'freaking old' and not understanding that you stop being a kid when you become a teenager.
