Probably most of us love our pets absolutely unconditionally, whatever they are - cats, dogs or... Fish? You read it right! While both cats and dogs get loads of attention all over the internet, fish owners decided they are no lesser than the latter. Having that in mind, someone thought what could better get the attention of people all over the Internet if not some good old shaming posts. Remember? We here on Bored Panda had a good share of laughs, going through these cat and dog shaming posts, so let's give it a go with these terribly naughty fish as well. Scroll down to see all the little criminals!

His face!! It's like, he's super proud and feels you are too- that's why you're photographing him to document his accomplishments!! Lol
This really seems like an owner issue. Puffer fish tend to be aggressive and predatory. You really need to be careful about choosing suitable tank mates and even determining if you actually have the ROOM for both them and the puffer.
Yep! Caught my puffer with one of my fancy guppies tail sticking out of it's mouth! I blame myself, the aquarium learning curve has not, always, been fun.
It's really frowned upon to solve arguments that way...downright uncivilized.
I don't know much about fish, but would giving him more fish food help? Oh, hang on, he does get FISH food...
Those puffers are devils - But they look so cute with their little faces.
It's okay to eat fish 'cause they don't have any feelings. Or shame.
Well, if I lived in such a small bowl I'd try to kill myself, too.
Because I have a tiny living space and can't cope with sharing. Help me!
Btw nori means seaweed in Japanese. I think that's what they mean but it could also be the name of another fish?
Most of these posts are situated on the facts - too little tanks, - too little plants, - wrong sorts of fish together, - babies not separated in time. It is more sad than funny.
Most of these people should not own fish - they clearly haven't done the basic research on how to keep them healthy and safe!
Load More Replies...I don't know much about fish but some of the tanks look too small to me, especially the round bowls (one of them has only some stones and no greenery or anything else in it ... besides the fish and water, of course)
These were not what I thought they would be. This was more a post about uneducated fish owners not understanding how you take care of them. My betta has always been in a 10 gallon tank with plenty of plants and driftwood and a varied diet of real foods not that flaked junk. Had one live almost 5 years (that was ancient for a betta) people need to do research before buying any pet. Fish too.
'23 pictures showing how too many people don't know how to keep tropical fish'. There, Judita. I fixed your title for you.
Fish and birds shouldn't be pets. They get coupes up and in small cages and tanks
I agree - being couped-up in a tiny environment when they have such large free spaces in nature.
Load More Replies...I used to work in a pet store right after my high school graduation. we had this girl who was fired because one day, when a customer came in and wanted to buy a bowl tank for his fish and wouldn't listen to reason, she told him that "he can put that bowl on his head and attend a new years ball as an astronaut". I was so with her on that one because this is the only thing you can do with that "tank".
Shouldn't even be an item that pet stores sell. Customers should listen when offered pet care advice.
Load More Replies...Most of these arent even the fishes fault. They arent d***s for attacking and eating others. Their natural habitat would be the ocean where they have all the space in the world to stay away from the fish they dont like and now theyre being stuffed into small tanks with other fish in their way all the time. Not to mention you should never use a round bowl for a fish and not having anything in there to entertain them or allow them to hide is really sad.
Most of these are freshwater fish, so their habitat wouldn't be the ocean (and in fact many of them have "territories" rather than just being constantly free-swimming everywhere), but yeah, choosing tank mates well and giving adequate space is important because in the wild another fish might be an enemy or food and the fish don't care if that wasn't the owner's plan.

Load More Replies...Quite often the pet stores don’t give good advice. A few days after my 15th birthday I bought another betta. Fish Guy lives in a 27L tank with a filter, silk plants and hides ect. He has a heater but my anxiety can’t handle turning it on (what if it breaks and fries him, what if he burns himself ect.). Like almost a month later I went to buy some fish conditioner... I had $20, adult was in the car and there was a REALLY sad looking betta. I tried to ignore it... I TRIED SO HARD. The fish was in a round bowl with nothing other than green stuff hanging off him. I thought he was dead, couldn’t see gills moving. Asked the guy how long he’d been there for (his owner just left him cause they didn’t want him) and he asks if I’m gonna buy him. I say idk if I could treat him.. he’s got green things coming off him. THIS MAN SAYS “NAH HE’S RIGHT” AND FLICKS THE FISH. LITERALLY FLICKS HIM. AND GOES “SEE HE’S SWIMMING” immediately I was like “I’m buying him” and bought my boy Flik.
I'm so glad you bought flik, and saved him from that abuse and neglect! Good on you ^-^
Load More Replies...75% of these people shouldn't be allowed to have fishes! They don't even know how much space fishes need. Worst article ever!
I think it's awful that there are still literal tiny fish bowls on sale at some pet stores. I don't know who decides that it's fine to keep selling them, but they're greedy monsters.
Load More Replies...This whole post basically turned from "people thinking they were funny because their fish are so outrageous" to everyone in the comments pointing out that they're fishkeeping wrong! Really, the reason 99% of these problems are occurring is because the owner evidently doesn't know what they're doing.
I hate the 'mummie'thing. You are not the mummie, you are a totally different species than fish. Grow up, get a life.
Most people in the educated aquarium communities go by "fish keepers". I've had vets call me the "dad" to my cat and even that feels really awkward.
Load More Replies...These are depressing and not funny at all. A perfect showcase of human ignorance. I am usually posting positive comments only but this is just too much.
1) Don’t get fish if you don’t know what race of fish mix well together (they will fight or eat each other because they are not f*cking mates) 2) Get a large fish tank (would you like to live in a closet?) 3) Buy activities (you have hobbies etc, they should too) 4) Clean your tanks often (you wouldn’t like to roll in your own s**t either)
Sorry, fish lovers but it's just not funny. If there's no reaction, even if it's just imagined, there's no humor.
Honestly, I have an aquarium and generally like fish, but you're right. It's doubly not funny because most of these problems are caused by the owners not doing research on how to actually care for the given species of fish.
Load More Replies...I know someone who had a fish named Oscar. He was in a tank by himself. She wanted to add another fish, which she did several times, but Oscar killed each one. She re-named him O.J.
Would have thought fish number two was a sufficient hint. Was the poor fish also in a crappy small tank? That tends to be part of the problem.
Load More Replies...There's nothing "funny" about animal abuse, which is the case for many of these posts. Science has shown that fish are sentient, they suffer fear and pain: http://www.FishFeel.org/fish-sentience/ They deserve respect and consideration not cruel confinement. Please stop promoting animal abuse!
Some of the fish here are just attitudey no mater what. Angel's need alot of room and like to school. Gouramis can be jerks, Bettas need alot of room if they are gonna share a space, even with snails, and Oscar's can get bored. This was mostly just bad choice of fish and tank size.
Beta fish are okay in small tanks. I put mine in a large clear vase and had a water plant on top, rocks in the bottom and a mirror positioned on the side so he could admire himself in full vanity.
Most of these 'behavioural problems can be solved with 3 things. 1) A bigger tank. Fish need a decent amount of space and will fight and kill for it including eating their young so ask you pet store what size tank you need for what fish you have. 2) Some fish are not compatible with others and will attack them. Again, ask the pet store which fish will get along. 3) Poop related behaviour can be solved with the use of a filter and an air stone and pump
"I immediately tried to eat the new snail." Bettas are known snail-eaters. If you put one in your 100-gallon aquarium, not only will you own the happiest Betta on the planet but your tank will be completely snail-free. Given that, Bettas are also dumber than rocks. They don't know they're not supposed to eat the fancy snail you put in there on purpose.
A lot of the quirky behavior coming from these fish (aside from the cramped ones) is due to the fact that those fish are Oscars. My mom kept Oscars. Those fish have strong personalities.
I have never thought fishes can be so expressing! I will reconsider eating them...
Did... did you actually think they wrote the notes...?
