30 Times Dogs Tried To Bend Human Rules, And It Was Hilariously Adorable
Never underestimate how clever dogs can be. Especially when their owner sets rules for them...
"I'm not allowed on the couch? Well, as long as one foot is on the ground, technically I'm not breaking the rules!" Below, Bored Panda has put together a list of dogs that thought of the most clever ways to bend the rules. In fact, they bend the rules in such an adorable way it's impossible to get mad at them! But I bet they knew that already... Keep on scrolling to check out the pics and feel free to submit your own to the list.

I find it funny that most of these dogs are smarter than me. I also find it sad that I find this fact funny.
Wow. The comments in this thread were so full of hate for the way people raise their dogs. Jeez.
Yep, It began sooooooo fun, then things got cray cray... Obviously ~ Somebody slipped something into the bamboo water toward the end, anyway. doggg-5926...22e3c.jpeg
For those wondering why you wouldn't let pets in bedrooms- pretty much every Allergist I've been to has recommended not letting pets into the bedroom (especially on the bed) if you are allergic. If the options are giving up your pet or keeping them out of one room if your symptoms are bad, you'd probably keep them out too. My cat had to start sleeping in my Dad's room when mine got worse :(
and we don't sleep in their beds, their bed is their space, our bed is our space
I love all these people going "My dogs can do what they like because they're not prisoners.." bla bla bla. No, they're not prisoners; but you don't let children do whatever they want either. A few rules doesn't make them prisoners, you simpletons, it just stops your home from becoming chaos.
well unlike most of the people in this post and on the comments, I actually need our dog to sleep with us (our meaning mine and my boyfriend's) if she doesn't, I don't fall asleep so easily, but I do keep the rule of her not being in the kitchen when I cook (don't know about the other household members) and she's not allowed on the sofa because of expensive material, but other than that, she's free to roam the house to any door that's open and the backyard, she is very spoiled and cuddled, there are reasons she's not allowed in some rooms, but she's allowed to roam.
When I was looking for a dog my parents and I set all these rules like no going on beds, the sofa is off limits, etc. (all the usual rules) but after getting my dog, Agatha, all that went out the window. She sleeps with me, she's on the couch in the evenings when I watch TV, she even sits with me when I'm eating dinner.
my dad was the same, "the dog isn't allowed on the couch, the beds, the bedrooms, in the kitchen, in the pool, he must sleep outside, he must eat dog food, no feeding him from the table" well the dog sleeps on the couch, the beds, in the bedrooms, in the kitchen. He is in the pool ALL summer and eats steak and roast (mainly from the table).( P.S my dad is the one who started letting him in the pool and feeding him from the table)
Load More Replies...That's how my dad is with his little dog. He goes so far as to cup his hand and pour In some of whatever he is drinking to give her a drink. Coffee milk, tea, she doesn't care just so he gives her some.
I am impressed that these dogs know the rules in the first place, let alone are smart enough to bend them!
To all the people who ask "why not allowed [insert what they are not allowed]?", I really really hope you're not that permissive with your kids (or better, that you don't have kids). On the other hand that would explain why nowadays we have so many special snowflakes thinking the world should revolve around them...
Stick to your own children lady. The poor things are in for a horrible ride with you as their mother.
I posted some pretty mean responses. I apologize. My buttons got pushed on a very rough day.
All the people who don't let their dogs inside, should be made to endure the same treatment for a week.
Well, ive gotten to #40 and so far, none of these people were not allowing their dogs inside. They just were not allowed inside certain rooms, which is totally acceptable. (people have allergies, people do not want pet hair in their food, people do not want begging animals around when they are cooking, etc)
Load More Replies...Oh, you mean the last post, right? Yeah, that picture was taken outside a skin-care clinic - where the pup wasn't allowed. But I guess hating on others and assuming the worst is way more fun than getting your facts straight?
maybe the dog likes it outside and wants to be outside. The dogs that aren't allowed in the house are typically working dogs. And when people say that 'oh the weather, they must get so wet and cold' I get a little annoyed because that dog might be let in the house when its raining, we don't know the context
hehe when I was working on my doctorate I would often sit at the kitchen table with my laptop, my cat loved laying on my computer desk when I was on my desktop computer so one day I had been working on my laptop and went to the bathroom and come back to my cat completely curled up on the laptop keyboard not a hair touching the table which he knew was a no-no.
Oh, this post brought so many memories! I used to have a big dog (Moscow Watchdog, very similar to St. Bernard, If you saw a movie Bethoven that's exactly the kind of dog I had) in my childhood, who lived outside in our garden. She had her own shed, like a small house actually, the size of a small room, with a door, window, blankets for her to lie on, so it was very good to hide from rain or snow, and even from heat and sun in summer. But she was never allowed into the house, only in entrance hall, let's call it a mud room. So she would lie there, door was almost always open and she could see us in the kitchen, we sould talk to her, etc. But from time to time (when parents were out, of course) I would allow her to go inside. I'd call her in, and she would stare at me surprised and confused and not sure, and I'd have to convince her I'm serious and it's ok for her to come in. And then she'd run inside and start running around the house, smelling everything, jusmping and wiggling her...
...tail happily. Oh, those emotions! And often I allowed her (or talk into I should say) to sit or lie on our couch. That was pure heaven for her! It's been around 20 years had passed and I miss those childhood days so much! Thank you, Boredpanda, for bringing me there.
everybody says animals do not understand human talk, what a load of BS, just be careful what you say in front of them while you are in bed.
This post is so full of hateful, judgemental comments. The fact that my bed has two cat-shaped permanent indentations doesn't make me any better than someone who places boundaries on their pets. Get over yourselves
Dogs not allowed inside? Don't put those photos up there. I'm an animal lover and I'm offended. The post was hidden but u don't put a warning or say what for. That's bull!
What is wrong with these people? Making such ridiculous rules for their pets!?
#89 #90 if your dogs not allowed inside your house, you need to find a family to adopt your dog. You’re not worthy of him.
"My dog is only allowed to sleep on a blanket when inside" what the actual f**k?
To all those owners who don't allow dogs on the couch/room etc. GET A CAT. You'll learn!😅
My mom had a perfectly trained cat, the cat wasn't allowed on any furniture & she had to ask permission for certain rooms...usually well trained & behaved pet is a happy pet
Dog are suppose to be like a family member. I feel sorry for these dogs, not getting on furniture and can't come in the house. My animals are just like my kids.
Better that your animal be deserted than kept out of a bed room? Seriously? Did you people even think it through?
people with allergies maybe? or people who like their space? or people who know that dogs need rules?
I've always felt my dogs are happier with some rules, they also get to go more places with me, like to people's homes that don't have dogs and don't appreciate dogs on THEIR furniture for example. What about barking, jumping, stealing food, do you folks criticizing some simple rules allow that, too?
Load More Replies...yes, someone who can see sense. The people who say that these rule are 'pathetic' wouldn't like it if they came to your house and the dog knocked them over, stole the food from their plate and constantly barked at them.
Also, there is nothing wrong with having a few rules for your pets. I dont know if you have heard of this other animal... it is called a "wolf". Wolves are recent ancestors of dogs and even they have inter pack rules of which wolf can do what, according to its position in the pack. Any good dog trainer will tell you that having and maintaining rules for your dogs is psychologically healthy for them. I dont want to get into the whole alpha, beta, omega thing here, but you really should read about it. It should go without saying (but here it seems it cant), obviously dont take things to extremes and abuse animals or whatever, but not letting them on couches or in kitchens is _not_ abuse or neglect.
These nice people are giving these sweet animals a home (shelter and food). The restrictions are not too demanding if you ask me.
Seriously. I wonder if these are the same type of people who have no rules for their kids too.
You do realize that it's not the same person that forbid them to go in all these rooms, right? Which means each dog probably don't have access to one (or maybe two) of these rooms, not all the rooms...
Unsure if you have heard about a thing called "allergies".... Try this: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=pet+allergies
Sure, keep on telling yourselves that you are doing this for their own good. Our own pets are living really horrible lives on our sofas and bedrooms... Yes, we are also giving them shelter and food and we spoil them too. Packs of wolves and flying pigs doesn't cut it guys. You want to feel better about yourselves so you play God to your pets. No shame in admitting it. The shame comes from doing it. The lowest of you even mention children in the discussion... How low can one get in order to defend their actions? Mentioning our children and what you are guessing their behaviour is? What a pathetic bunch of losers!
How did you get through an 18 page post about something that obviously infuriates you? I suspect you may enjoy complaining. You don't even know their reasoning. I have similar rules for my dog and I have valid reasons for them. I am happy to explain my reasoning to people who ask in a calm and respectful manner. I find people with your approach aren't really interested in reasoning and are more interested in shoving your views in peoples faces.
if we say that our pets are our children why are we expected to treat them any differently? We don't sleep in our pets beds so why do people get so fired up when people don't want pets in human beds? (and P.S I did upvote your comment because you did make a valid point even if I didn't agree with it)
