Yep. And my husband always says “I think I’M DYING,” so I’ve started replying “OK, I’ll get dressed… do you want to get dressed too, or do you want to go to the ER in your pajamas?” or “which ER do you want to go to? Yours (the one HE WORKS AT), or the one downtown (much closer to our house)?” all with a very serious tone of voice and facial expression…

I've heard the theory that the man-flu evolved in order to save the hunters. A woman in a tribal setting gets sick, it doesn't matter so much because she gets to stay home, and she's surrounded by other women who will take care of her. But a man gets sick, he's off somewhere by himself in the woods where he could get eaten by predators if he can't adequately defend himself. So, the idea is that the flu makes him want to stay home. I've seen Bp recently put out an article about ancient female hunters, but all the documentaries I've seen about different modern tribes from around the world show women only ever hunting in packs, whereas men will sometimes go off by themselves.

I'm generally a tough as nails kinda guy, I can deadlift a small block Chevy engine block, go to work when I have a cold pain, but I can't do anything when I get a migraine. The main issue is that I experience extreme vertigo, so I can barely walk. I need to hug a wall, and if there is a distance of more than 6ft, I stumble like a drunk trying to get to another anchor point. Unfortunately, it's a chronic condition. I've had the headaches since I was a child, I just figured every one felt that way everyday. It wasn't until I had my official diagnosis at 38 that things got better, but I was out of work for 3 months before that happened. Once I got on a daily regimen of control meds, it mostly stopped, but there are still days that all I can do is lie in a dark room, hoping it goes away...

I feel his pain!

I’m a woman, but sometimes colds take me out. Stay home level snotbag. Amazing how sick you can get without a fever.

NGL, we are babies when it comes to being sick, lol. I can have a cavity drilled w/o Novocain but lie on the couch intermittently moaning, & in the fetal position when I've got achy joints and a fever. Even WE know it's pathetic, lol.
