Whether it's your uncle who can't keep his radical opinions to himself or your classmates who want to convince everyone that their lives are perfect, nowadays it seems that everyone's online.

The Instagram account 'Comments By Celebs,' however, is dedicated to solely what the stars are saying. From savage comebacks to haters and heartfelt exchanges with fans to supportive messages and inside jokes with fellow colleagues, this pop culture hub notices it all.

While famous people were once untouchable and distant, social media has brought them closer than ever.

However, we shouldn't take everything at face value. As Brett Cullen, head of social media at Hatch PR, explains, "Celebrities have finely crafted public images, and social media is an important part of making or breaking that. There's a strategy behind why celebrities do what they do (or don't), particularly on social."

"Keeping control of that image, and the narrative of the brand, is ... crucial for celebrities," he adds. When you have millions of followers, it makes sure that your posts, comments, and even likes are carefully curated. The cost of a mistake can be too high.

Of course, that doesn't mean that every word is a lie. Personal brand builder Julie Bunkley emphasizes that forming your image is about "believing in yourself and your trajectory enough to put thought into how you can use every tool in your toolbox to place your brand where you want it to be."

She believes that professionals who are serious about their name should do so "actively, thoughtfully, constantly." In the case of celebrities, the words they share online are not necessarily false, but rather strategically filtered to shape the vision they want to project.

Stop the hate against Jewish people. I see many people harassing them on the social media just because they are Jewish, and as a French that really remind me of a darker time.

I totally agree, the Jewish people don't deserve this. I also want the Israeli government to send food and medicine into Gaza. (Spelling corrected)

Pink is a wonderful, extremely talented rock star, she engages her fans, loves her family and I don't think being Jewish has a thing to do with it. I like her music and only recently found out she's Jewish. Who cares?

I swear, a lot of humanity will never learn from our history. Don't like a religion? Don't follow it. Don't like a certain ethnicity? Don't associate with them. It's not hard. But some people refuse to look back at the atrocities in our past and try to do better. They refuse to allow others to live their life how they wish. They think it's their way or it's wrong. They simply don't care about their fellow humans. They don't see that their actions are what is making the world worse. How can we, as humans, be so f*ing ignorant, so unaware of the consequences, so self absorbed as to not even consider how they are hurting themselves and the rest of us!?!

Yea, I've gotten some funny reactions reminding people of that. Luckily, none that got physical....

Only an idiot ruled by a mob mentality thinks people should hide their religion to be politically correct.

A good proportion of the supposed "Free Palestine" people don't care about the Palestinians. They are just reveling in their ability to freely express antisemitism, while being called "progressives". You can tell them by their primarily demands. They're easy to spot, because care mostly about stopping all military support for Israel, and don't care much about protecting and supporting Palestinians. PS. Pink is Jewish.

Er…well, some, certainly, albeit unconsciously as well as consciously. But it’s probably because Hamas’ propaganda machine is well-oiled, and most of them think they’re fighting for the Palestinian people. They are, in a way. Just, imho, nog a very long-term one. Hamas is going to keep pulling s**t like this because no war = no endless refugee status and endless aid to knick. I’m sure the average Hamas soldier thinks on some level he’s ‘doing the right thing’ in the name of God, but I can guarantee that isn’t the focus of most of the Hamas top. I can only imagine what it’s like to be the average Palestinian right now, with a ‘government’ that revels in deaths on both sides, and very few options, let alone chances to protest, but also brainwashed into thinking all Jews are the enemy. I’m not anti Palestine - I’m anti Hamas. I am more pro-Israel, though, because this has to end, and Hamas don’t want it to. Sorry for the rant 😅 P:S: Pink is Jewish? How?

However, we're not coo-coo if we're interested in celebrities' comments either.

Dr. Paul Harrison from Deakin University’s Faculty of Business and Law, who is an expert in consumer behavior and culture, believes we monitor and follow celebrities so closely because as humans we are constantly searching to understand how to improve our lives.

"Everything is about seeking a better life and a desperate desire not to be ignored or forgotten, so we look to celebrities to help guide us on how to achieve something akin to their lives. We know that we’re not the same, but we also have to believe that what they have achieved is only just out of our reach."

"In other words," he says, "it's all about fitting in, perhaps being a bit better. We believe that if we follow those with success, some form of authority or a sense of power, we set ourselves on the right path."

"Whether it's Taylor Swift, Donald Trump, Barrack Obama, the Kardashians, or the cast of Married at First Sight, all of these people feed into how we think we should (and shouldn’t) behave to achieve something that verges on a 'good life,'" Dr. Harrison continues. "The problem is, we are only seeing a proportion of their lives."

So while these comments can be entertaining, we shouldn't feed ourselves too much into them.

Celebrity worship syndrome is a disorder that occurs when admiration for someone shifts into an obsessive fascination. While it's not a clinically recognized condition, it's been described as an obsessive-addictive disorder.

While excessive content consumption isn't a good thing, scrolling through a list like this, of course, shouldn't cause any harm.
