Just like last time Cam gave Bored Panda an exclusive interview. First, we asked the cartoonist if he had any major influences in his life that might've helped him to develop and refine his style.
“Absolutely! Gary Larson of The Farside and the Simpsons helped shape my overall sense of humor and personality from a young age, while more recently comics like Extrafabulous inspire the hell out of me.“
Cameron also says that most of his ideas for the comics come from work, and especially when he is at work and is supposed to be doing other things. It certainly seems that the comic artist doesn't lack in the imagination department, however, as one would have it, the best ideas always come at unexpected times when you have more important things to do, such is a life of an artist.
Art, in any kind of form, takes a lot of time not only to practice but also to produce, therefore we asked Toothy how long it takes him to fully finish his comics.
“I’ve got two toddlers and a busy full-time career, so I try to get them done super fast, 1-2 hours depending on the complexity.“
Cam's comics certainly have their own unique style that is easy to recognize given how simple yet interesting they look from a reader's perspective. The unexpected endings and sometimes even absurd situations are just a cherry on top of the overall amazing work the author puts out to his thousands of fans almost daily. Say Pandas, which comic was your favorite?
Being a cartoonist is not easy, one can easily encounter a lack of inspiration, burnout, etc, so we wanted to ask Cam about his ideas for the comics.
“Many different ways! Sometimes something funny will happen or a funny thought will occur to me during the day and I’ll jot it down for later. Sometimes I’ll have to grind it out, even using random word generators to spark ideas.“
As we mentioned before, sometimes creative work can cause quite a burnout, therefore we asked the cartoonist how he dealt with that as well.
“All the time. I work as a creative in advertising during the day, write comics in my spare time and have a kid’s book in the works. Sometimes I want to abandon all of it and go collect garbage for a living. All that fresh air. Plus those guys are jacked. “

We also asked Cameron about how people usually react to his work.
“99% positively, but reading my own Instagram comments is very likely a giant sampling error. “
The creative process is not easy, but there are always some enjoyable parts to it.
“The spark of a new idea for sure. The sh***y part is what comes after. “
We also asked about the inspiration behind the cartoonist's Instagram account.
“I started the account before the comics. I used to post doodles on there for fun and it just evolved into this. “
Digital art and art, in general, is not easy and requires a lot of patience, time, resources, and in most cases, even money. Therefore, we wanted to know how the talented cartoonist started his own career in digital art.
“I’ve always drawn little doodles and comics on every scrap of paper I could get my hands on. I went to design school and started playing with digital image creation and I guess the two things just kind of merged. “
What kind of troll could stand to downvote this perfect, hilarious pun? 10/10
