I was just gonna add that :)...but he seems to view it as "It got me clean and works for me; your mileage may vary." rather than throw it in ones face.

I was being sarcastic. I remember when Satanists were accused of some really ridiculous things and that Alice Cooper was one of the artists who took the brunt of unfair and unfounded allegations. I don't claim to know the ins and outs of Satanism, but I know enough to respect what they stand for and for the good that they do.

I believe this was ardent sarcasm because Alice Cooper is a born again Christian and Satanists are also not known to be particularly vociferous about their beliefs and are sorta on par with the atheists.

Yeah so much so that Satan wanted to be above God. Satan himself was judging God when he said to Eve: "Is it true God said you'll die if you eat the fruit from that tree?...Positively you won't die..."He was calling God a liar and criticizing him. Genesis chapter 3.

Some of them do, even though it's not satanism, they claim to be satanists and actually worship 'satan' which is basically just them being edgy Christians. They completely bomarded the Satanist subreddit that I used to look at. Which is, kind of missing the whole point of what satanism actually stands for and spreads misconceptions about real satanists. Satanism is just an athiest 'religion' really.

I was merely being sarcastic- Alice Cooper and other musicians were unfairly hounded by conservatives in the 80's. Hell, i even can remember him testifying in front of a government commission and how his testimony was what convinced me that all of the c**p being said was just that - c**p. And, yes, I know that Satanists do not worship Satan- they believe we are all god, to put it the simplified way that I understand. I also know of the good Satanists do in their communities, often, I bet, quietly and without too much fanfare. I'm no expert, I only know the little I've read, but I have a lot of respect for Satanists - probably more so then other groups who profess to be "Godly" and pure. So, no, I'm not making fun.

I know some people who also use the devil as a mascot. They call him Fred.

It’s a joke, and (correct me if I’m wrong) they have similar beliefs to atheists? (I heard that from someone who said they were Satanist but I’m not sure) and that we made everything/ caused our society. (I am atheist but believe in that sense of we made society and there is no god)

Please read what I posted above. I wasn't trying to insult Satanists with my first comment and I definitely wasn't mocking them.

I don't think that was meant to sound like satanism, it was just mocking Christianity but subbing satan-related things for church-type things.

Same! My in-laws were all prepped to jump down my throat and said, “And what if they want to believe? Huh? What then?” I responded as long as it was an educated decision, that’s fine. They shouldn’t spend their whole lives in shame trying to force themselves to believe in something like I did.
