No matter how successful, cool or elegant we are, we all have our days or brief moments when our common sense and dignity bid their farewell to us. Blame it on your brain having a fart, on Mercury in retrograde, on waking up on the wrong foot, it doesn’t change anything.

Sometimes we are all clueless, hilariously naive, and shamelessly embarrassing. So if you just did or said something stupid, we want to give you a big pat on the shoulder and tell you that you are not alone.

Below we wrapped up the list of images featuring people lost in the cloud of their brain farts, so scroll down. Also, be sure to check out more clueless people caught in action in Bored Panda’s previous features here and here.

While we can’t tell the reason that made these people act they way they did as seen in the images shared in this post, we can all agree on the obvious: it’s that humans are sometimes bold and unreasonable.

Luckily, the internet is a perfect place to celebrate these funny occasions. Just like the miscellaneous corner of Reddit known as the “What Could Go Wrong” community, which has been demonstrating examples of “what not to do” since 2013.

The creator who goes by the nickname Peanutbuttered told us a while back that in a perfect world, r/whatcouldgowrong wouldn’t exist because people would know what is smart to attempt and what isn’t. “But since that’s not the case, at least, we hope the subreddit can help to prevent an injury or save a life."

“My hope is that people who are thinking of attempting a stupid stunt will rethink their decision or maybe recall a post they saw on /r/whatcouldgowrong. Then they’ll think, 'maybe I should not do this,'” the redditor said.

Well, treating your child as a friend is not a good thing. They're your children, they're more than friends and entitled to more care and consideration. Never set yourself on fire to keep your friends warm. They'll not give it back. Neither will children, but still as their parent you owe them a lot more than anyone else. But this guy definitely didn't mean it that way. He's just a very nasty person.

This is someone who doesn't see themselves as a friend to their children, that's fine. It's a shame they're not a parent to their child either - their declaration reads more like a boss or an owner; they don't have children, they have possessions

You don't need to be a friend for your children. Just try to do it great as a parent. Friendship will happen during the process.

Im not my daugther friend im her parent. I teach her respect by respecting her, privacy and all. Kids will feel confortable coming to you with their problems if you respect them. If they fear you they will hide things from you.

Yes. My parents never tried to be my friend. Dad even made a *point* of saying that he's not my friend. They're authority figures. They're my first and primary teachers. They're the first and last line of defense between child!me and all the dangers of the world. Dad's also my first and best friend. The one person I could always go to (Mom's health meaning she was often incapacitated when I was very young). The one person I could talk to about *literally anything.* We were thick as thieves. We fought like cats and dogs (almost identical, almost stereotypically Irish, personalities). Someone who never talked down to me. Who actually took my words seriously. Who understood what it was like to *be me.* I can't begin to explain how important that was, still is, to this lonely "problem child" who *knew* something was wrong with her but didn't find out *what* until her mid-20s. Who felt like a literal alien and denied her own loneliness with declarations that she didn't *need* friends.

Children need discipline, they need to learn manners and know right from wrong. They also need parents who respect their decisions and privacy. As adults, you like your privacy right? Imagine going to jail and having all that stripped away from you. You feel hopeless and angry and you definitely wouldn't want to go back there. Or talk to any guards once you are out.

Sorry, but the guy on top is correct. "We're not friends" doesn't mean "I don't love you, like you, enjoy your company, care for you nor want what's best for you." It means, "we're not peers; I am responsible for you in a way you are not responsible for me, and I care more about what's good for you than what you like."

I hate that the OP put the word privacy in quotes. I hate that the first half of their comment is in proper, decent English and the second half is...I don't even know what to call it. Bad? Wrong? Horrible? I can understand if he meant "sh*t ain't negotiable" as in "that - me being your friend - is not negotiable" but the backwards order of words is confusing. Also, *we're* not friends. My mom is my best friend and the other people in our social circle (be they biological family or chosen family) who judge that fact are allowed their opinion on it, but I would much rather have an at times too bonded co-dependant relationship with my mom than resent her for being strict and horrible (even though I am 40, and she is technically done raising me). She was not strict or horrible, and I'm very grateful for that. I completely agree with the second half of the bottom comment above "Welcome to your future". I feel bad for that commenter as well as the child/children of OP in this post. Very sad.

My mom always said that she was my parent, not my friend. But she treated me with dignity and respect. She valued my options and acknowledged my feelings. Guess what? I never felt the need to lie, drink, sneak out etc. I have been wildly successful in my education, career, and personal life. And now that I’m an adult, my mom is absolutely my best friend and we have an amazing n relationship. It’s almost like respect goes both ways….

Our sons were very well behaved compared to their friends and we did set boundaries early on that were based on mutual respect, logic and LOVE: always love. Now in their 20s, our sons are our best friends and they treat the other people in their lives with kindness and respect. Thinking back I can’t recall a single argument we had that descended into raised voices.

I think what he was trying to say was 'I'm their parent first, and it's my job to look out for their best interests, even when they don't like it'. Parents who try to be best buddies with their kids and give them everything they want often fail massively.

Parents are not their child’s friend. Parents with guidance should be raising well educated, moral, kind, well behaved and strong adults. Parents being friends is the biggest problems in society today. Do not confuse being a friend with being a good parent. Sometimes parents have to make hard decisions for the sake of raising a good and caring adult.

I didn’t want a friendship from my stepfather but - well, it would have been easier if he weren’t such s**t. After a verbal reprimand I walked down the hall to my room and closed the door - making sure NOT to slam it. It didn’t matter - the fact that I could shut the door and him out -- bothered him in a big way. He took the door off the hinges - not sure how long it stayed off the hinges but - needless to say I went to college to get away from that house.

I don't think this is stupid. Parents should know what role they have to play in their children's life. They are not supposed to be our friends, they can be our friends too. But their main objective is to guide us into adulthood. Not being a friend, but being a responsible and dedicated parent who is not afraid to impose limits, is a good stance.

Mixing s**t with a honey, looks like honey, but it stinks! Of course you are not friends with your children, you are on a one way street; you are there for them not on a two way street, like with friends, when you are for each other. Having children is a job and payment is in being happy with what a good job you delivered. And when you do that you send them free to the world, they will come to you with their freedom stories for the rest of your life! Not because you are friends, because you are their beloved, kick a*s, true parent.

You're not supposed to control privacy because your friends, but because you think you don't want to be considered a friend instead of a parent who's in control, doesn't mean you have to ignore privacy wishes like they have no place in the home. If you trust your child you will allow them some privacy. They need to know ultimately it can be taken away if you feel strongly that they are in danger or someone else is in danger, and you might need to investigate for everyone's safety. But you know what? If they didn't do anything for you to take away privacy as a natural arrangement of your relationship when you can trust your child, then why don't you trust them? Don't forget if you do this, your child will not trust you either. Do you want that wrong dishonest relationship?

This is the problem with today. Parents aren't being parents. You can be friends with your kids, but you need to be the adult and be a parent too. My parents weren't my friend growing up. They set rules I had to follow. I credit them for making me a better human.

You don't have to be friends to be kind, respectful, compassionate and empathetic to your kids. It's how I've ended up the communal mom amongst my kids' friends, because I respect them until they give me a reason not to. They also all know I tolerate no BS in my house, and they respect that as well and don't bring any.

But bold actions we all sometimes do without thinking twice about them may have to do with our lack of sense of actions and consequences. This may be deliberate or not, since some people struggle to control their impulsivity.

Another reason may be the fact that we live in the age of instant gratification. From social media to online shopping, the ability to get what we want with the click of a button has eliminated the need for long-term planning and consideration of the potential consequences of our actions.

Our culture has become one of immediacy, where people are more concerned with the short-term gratification of their desires than with the long-term consequences.

On a larger scale, this lack of consideration for the consequences of our actions has led to environmental degradation and climate change. We have failed to take the long-term view and instead have focused on short-term gains, leading to a situation where we are now facing the consequences of our actions.

King James Bible - Mark 16:13-15. 'And THEY went and told it unto the residue: neither believed THEY THEM. Afterward HE appeared unto the eleven as THEY sat at meat, and upbraided THEM with THEIR unbelief and hardness of heart, because THEY believed not THEM which had seen HIM after HE was risen. And HE said unto THEM, go ye out into the world...'!

After a stunned silence, a well-modulated voice replied 'madam, this IS the Bank of England'.

Here's an excellent example of a strawman fallacy - that argument is not the argument OP is making, it is a made-up argument the second person created and believes they can win to discredit OP. This also is meant to keep OP on the defensive in the exchange to further make them appear weak. Common troll/Alt-blight tactic.

Just want to check I got this right. Starting at 0 - Bought for 800 = -800, sold for 1000, so now on +200. Then again for 1100, so -900 now, and then sold for 1300, so +400 right?

One of my more memorable customer interactions was with a uni student who was trying to photocopy transparencies and couldn't, no matter how I tried, understand why the *white copier paper* wasn't turning clear when she copied.

This is something we've actually done in my industry. Basically, if you know the weight of one item, then weigh the whole package of items, you can determine the number of items. Some scales will do the calculation and read out in items. In this case, provided the scale is calibrated to the density of the fluid and tared with the weight of an empty can, you can absolutely tell how many fluid ounces are there based on weight. That said, I doubt the scale is calibrated for Sprite, and looking at the final measurement, it's reasonable to assume it wasn't tared correctly.

I have no idea what fentanyl looks like but giving out unmarked tablets to kids does not sound like a good idea either
