It doesn’t necessarily take a fat wallet to recreate the dazzling, fashionable—and sometimes off-the-charts bizarre—looks of your favorite celebrities. Sometimes, all you need is a great imagination, an eye for thriftiness, and a forgiving audience that loves humor and is willing to suspend its disbelief in exchange for a laugh.

Actor, comedian, model, and influencer Funny Toheeb, from Nigeria, impersonates celebrities and recreates their looks using cheap materials. He gently pokes fun at the super strange clothes that stars sometimes wear to major events. It’s all done for the sake of fun, and we hope it’ll brighten up your day, Pandas. Scroll down, upvote your fave pics, and let us know which of these looks you loved the most!

Who wore it better? You'll be the judge of that, Pandas.

Pssst, Pandas, over here. If you can’t get enough of the entertainer’s sense of humor and enjoy what he does, then we’ve got you covered. When you’re done with this list, check out Bored Panda’s previous article about his awesome low-budget celeb looks right over here.

Celebrity expert Mike Sington, aka Hollywood's Ultimate Insider, was kind enough to share his thoughts with us about why some stars choose to wear peculiar outfits and how much celebrity choices impact what the public buys. Read on for Bored Panda's full interview with Mike.

More info: Instagram | TikTok

According to entertainment, pop culture, and lifestyle expert Mike, from Los Angeles, unusually designed outfits can end up getting their wearers a lot of attention.

"Wearing an outlandish or extremely fashion-forward outfit to a major event garners immediate attention and media coverage, which is exactly what most celebrities want," he told Bored Panda.

"It will basically guarantee press coverage, while other celebrities are being ignored. It’s all about standing out in a sea of celebrities." In other words, the stranger the look, the bigger the contrast compared to the rest of the crowd.

Bored Panda was interested to get Mike's take on how much celebrities influence their fans and the wider public with how they dress, what they eat, and what they buy.

Here's what he had to say: "Celebrity choices with fashion, food, and things they buy have been influencing our choices really since the beginning of Hollywood. Because celebrities have always been in the public eye, we naturally look up to them as trendsetters," the celebrity expert said.

"The inclination seems to be, if that dress makes them look good, maybe it will work for me. Or, if they’re eating that, and look that good, maybe I’ll try it too. Even a certain hairstyle will be eagerly copied, and not just for women. Think of all the men that asked for a haircut like David Beckham’s!" he explained the thought process behind everything.

Finally, Mike revealed to Bored Panda his personal list of stars with "the best fashion sense." His list of style-savvy celebs includes: Kristen Stewart, Billy Porter, Zendaya, Timothee Chalamet, Rihanna, Lil Nas X, Tom Holland, and Jennifer Lopez.

I genuinely cannot tell which one is supposed to be the original one? I hate both outfits equally, but feel the right one looks a bit better.

Funny Toheeb, also known as Korey Toheeb and Toheeb Adedokun Akorede, lives in Nigeria and got on many people’s radars after being featured on BBC Africa’s ‘One Minute’ video story.

Now, he has a whopping 635k followers on Instagram and another 47.2k fans on TikTok. The loyal fanbase he’s created is all due to his hard work, courage, and creativity.

After all, not everyone has the guts to wear a super weird celeb outfit, whether it’s low-cost or costs as much as renting a small apartment. (And with current prices in some parts of the world, that’s not an exaggeration when it comes to cost.)

Recreating outfits on a budget means that you have to find creative solutions to clothing challenges using random items, including what you might accidentally stumble upon at home.

Funny Toheeb has used pretty much everything, from plastic bottles to noodles and far (far!) more, to make himself look like well-known stars like 50 Cent, Kim Kardashian, Jared Leto, Cardi B, and others.

It seems like the entertainer will have inspiration as long as celebs continue to wear, errr how can we phrase this politely, questionable outfits. Sure, some of these looks might be fashion-forward, but some are so outside the box, they make the stars look a tad ridiculous.

However, at the same time, it really comes down to one’s self-esteem, whether someone can pull a look off. If you put your confidence ‘on’ first, there’s pretty much nothing you can’t make work. With enough mojo, even a plastic bag can look fa-bu-lous.

Funny Toheeb told the BBC that recreating celebrity looks is difficult. “Sometimes when I don't know what to do with the picture, I listen to music, then go through the picture [again] and I will kill it [the look],” he said.

“People laugh and that is just our main focus, bringing people out of depression,” the entertainer stressed that the core focus of what he does is to make people’s day a bit better and to bring a smile to their faces. And that’s a mission that we can get behind.

Despite how some of the costumes look, they aren’t put together in just a couple of minutes. They take time and effort to plan out. “It's not a day's job, some pictures we spend weeks [recreating them]. Sometimes we work at night. Sometimes the material will be around, like what we did with the plastic bottles, you just have to look around for it,” he told the BBC.

"I wasn't born with a silver spoon. I actually want to be the person that will change my family's story, that is why I keep working. 'Just keep doing and keep thinking outside of the box,' that's what my mum used to tell me. I tell her I will be a big celebrity one day, she doesn't believe me," Funny Toheeb said back in 2019.

The fact that designing clothes is far harder than it looks might be news to some people. Recently, Bored Panda spoke to Nigerian fashion designer Oyinda Akinfenwa, the creator of the Janore brand, who shared part of her work process.

“When it comes to my process, it varies depending on the design and my state of mind at the point. It could be fast like just envisioning a style and sometimes it’s quite slow which may involve drawing various patterns to make sure I get the right fit and styling necessary for each design,” she explained to us how designing requires a ton of effort.

“I wish people understood that it is not easy to actually create designs out of an idea, there’s a lot of creative process that goes into it and it will be nice if people were a bit more understanding of designers and also understanding the story behind their art,” Oyinda said.

“I have to make sure that all the styling options I offer look just as good as the next one and also ensure that it fits into the category of outfit that I’m going for. Also to make sure that it can not only be styled differently but also styled to fit different occasions thereby creating ease as well as comfort for whoever is wearing it,” the designer told Bored Panda.

Meanwhile, Mary Waldron, the founder of the popular ‘You can’t just slap some fabric together and call it a dress’ Facebook group, told Bored Panda how to be diplomatic if you spot a friend wearing something that doesn’t suit them. It’s all about how you phrase things.

“I think the important thing when sharing opinions on another person’s outfits is tact, it comes across as rude if you simply say, ‘Your dress is ugly’ and the other person may not be as willing to listen to you, but if you were to say, ‘I don’t think that dress is very flattering for your figure, try this other dress.’ It sounds less critical and gives you the chance to give them a better option,” she said.

It's unlikely that we'll ever get the chance to tell Kim Kardashian that what she's wearing might not be the best choice for her, but it's something to keep in mind if we want to help our friends who are having a tough time being stylish.

The slightly wonky horn makes this outfit. The guy is a genius. Clearly has far too much time on his hands, but a genius nonetheless 😂
