Dogs aren't the only smart animals that have jobs. This might come as a surprise, but some adorable cats don't shy away from getting their paws dirty as well. And to prove that they got more important things to do than knocking stuff over, people are posting pictures of the most hardworking felines. Some help their owners promote a garage sale, some are busy mousekeeping, but no matter big or small, their efforts are always appreciated. Scroll down to enjoy the pics and upvote your favorite employees of the month!

The Incredible Nursing Cat

The Incredible Nursing Cat

Rademenesa was diagnosed with an inflamed respiratory tract when he was 2 months old. He survived the ordeal and now lives at the animal shelter and keeps other sick animals company and tries to nurse them back to health

KimfromNorway Report

There have been numerous cute cats who held real jobs as well. For example, when Empirical Brewery in Chicago noticed that their grain is being eaten by rodents and insects, they started thinking about the best way to solve this problem and decided to get four cats who now stroll around the 8,000 square foot brewery and look for anything they can catch.

I love the fact that there was "international backlash" over the car losing his job. And what kind of a**hat councilman goes after a cat?

Idiot councilman probably doesn’t read, so can’t appreciate having a cat in a library. Obviously had no clue as to the benefit of having a good mouser in residence. Ever seen books chewed—-and defecated/urinated—-on by mice? Browser was more than earning his keep, which I’ll wager is more than the now ex-councilman ever did.

My favorite bookstore in San Francisco (which, sadly, just closed after 45+ years) always had cats. There was a big orange stripey guy who was there for years and was such a sweetie.

The cat is super cute but as an allergic person, I would probably get a reaction just from reading or handling those books. :( I'm SUPER allergic.

Be nice to step outside your immediate zone IN St. Petersberg, Russia, the Hermitage Museum and Art Gallery discovered they needed to keep their wild cats, because they protect the exhibits, especially are ones, from mice. Now they have a cat cafe, where the cats come and cuddle with you while you have your coffee. If you bond with one, and pass their scrutiny, you can take it home.

Get rid of anyone who tries to come between a cat and his job, be it as a mouser or comforter or any other job they can do. I think every office building should have a cat or cats on the job, for whatever reason besides rescuing a shelter cat and giving it a life.

I knew an antiques store with 2 long-haired cats, who liked to walk among the glassware (the more expensive the better, of course) to make it jingle--and never broke a thing.

So, pretty soon someone with cat or dog allergies won't be able to comfortably go to: the doctor, the dentist, the library, won't be able to ride on planes or go to most stores. But pet owners' need to carry around a living stuffed animal are more important! They might be sad if they had to leave home without the pet, like an adult.

I was allergic to dogs- and then got a dog. I am now immune. Science is getting rid of allergies. And we love our pets enough to not leave them in a house all day. Animals are sweet, and so worth it. Once you get a pet, you’ll understand. For now, look up the following words in a dictionary: sympathy, care, kindness, humanity, happiness, compassion, and anything else related to kindness and being open-hearted.

Experts say that this method of pest control is much more cost effective and humane. The use of these adorable animals eliminates the need for harsh chemicals and poisons, which is better for the environment. As for the humanity of it, the introduction of cats to a vermin-ridden area alone can eliminate pests without any killing — the feline scent and droppings alone are enough to drive out rodents, because rats won’t even reproduce near such predators.

But cats can hold other positions, too. Most of us have heard of therapy dogs, but cats can apply for this job as well. Thula is a great example of that. She was paired with a 6-year-old girl named Iris who lives with Autism, and the situation has improved for the better ever since.
