Are you a cat person or a dog person? This is a fairly common question that people ask, and while there is no particular reason while you can’t absolutely be both, there is a reason why this query comes up so often.
You see, cats and dogs have fundamentally opposite personalities that can naturally lead to very different relationships with their humans. Cats are usually more independent, cunning and don’t particularly need your love and affection. On the other hand dogs are more social creatures, playful, friendly and dare we say it, a little dumb at times.
What better way to illustrate the many different experiences of cat and dog owners than a cleverly created comic? We here at Bored Panda have compiled a list of comics that we think perfectly sum up the quirky habits of our pooches and pussycats, we hope you’ll find them as hilariously true as we did. Let us know what you think in the comments below!

My dog is like this dog, he woofs non stop when I come home, he has lots of news to tell me, and everyone else that will listen 😊 💕 🐶 💕😇
I strongly disagree, unless the way was switched and it was “Cat: How are things? People: Dogs: How are things? People: OMG! Hi! So much stuff if happening! I got you so many toys at the pet store! I got you some treats,I got you some more toys, too! People if they had to text cats: I gave your toys to the dog. Cats: Okay.
Actually the cat would say, "half of my food is gone, when are you coming home to fill it up again. And my water is empty. Why aren't you here anticipating my every need?!?"
Well i ain’t sure on this.. My now cat, yes trained to use the cell for ambulance, as i live with a rare sickness,& she is able to as well speak a few words. She is well behaved on a leash & coller,& @ an old age still enjoys fetch, yes exactly like a dog only better. So i might have a different personality exotic cat but one of her nick names is ‘puppy’; just with brains,& she would text if i left her nails to grow, as she can hold a pen(stylist),& she has enjoyed drawing on my screen device... so this one is difficult to answer?
I have a cat that drools puddles. He's a big baby that needs to be held daily. You have to lie in bed on your side where he flops on his back and you hold him in your arm and he'll nuzzle his head into your armpit/ chest and starts to drip drool the entire time while falling asleep. And when he gets really comfortable, he stretches his entire body straight and ends up almost half your body length.
I recently bumped my toe on a table and the cat immediately rushed to comford me and didn't leave before I stopped laying on the couch, whimpering in pain.
Cats always approach me. I don't know why. It might be because my cat loves to destroy all of my clothes with her shedding fur
The cat one is missing a cat that is too big for the box. The walls of the box are being stretched so much it looks as if any movement could cause the box to burst.
I've never seen a dog that wouldn't eat both bowls of food if they were right next to each other.
Once again, my dog sleeps on our faces, around our necks, or with her head under our shirts (yep). Like a cat. I think she forgot to read the dog memo.
Nope nope and nope... this is how my dog eats food. When I grab something to eat he is staring at me "mom you know that is my favourite"
My dog loves the laser pointer! I can make her run after it for hours and if the red dot stops moving, she pounces on it. Maybe my dog is a cat in disguise??
Cats need not the approval or appreciation that we humans can - and often do - show as they beleive us to be inferior creatures. As we speak, cats are not only disrespecting our role but also taking over our luves, capital and internet. This is why one should always respect cats but also show dominance by tackling them in their specialized feild: Class of society and sophistication.
I am Dutch, so i had to look up the translation of budgie... gnarg gnarg very funny (Dutch mean grin, well kinda)
Yeah, its funny how crazy some people get over this subject! U can love one over the other or even both of them! The main thing is, to love them!
My cat once got hold of some dry dog food (it's a long story) and boy oh boy did she ever fart from it.
My three cats come to me meowning like crazy. This is not right. They want us all the time after we come back home.
Nop. Domesticated dogs can equally bite you and draw blood. Trained dogs won't do that. But if you train your cat, it won't do that as well.
Most of these comics are funny and accurate, but I feel that there is a clear pattern of reinforcing the existing prejudice against cats. I know it's supposed to be humorous, but still... Cats are very misunderstood creatures, fully capable to love and bond with humans ♥
True, this is just another "dogs are humans best friends" and "cats are jerks" post...
Load More Replies...Those people just don't comprehend cats. They seem to want more "submissive" pets. Both cats and dogs are marvellous company, but of course you must treat them with respect.
my cats were affectionate but only on their terms.
Load More Replies...99.9% of these comics are encouraging prejudice and hatred towards cats...dogs are pack animals and therefore see their owners as their pack leaders, so they will do their best to please them. Cats are solitary animals, therefore their owner to them is a close relative or habitant. A lot of people say cats are jerks because they like the dog trait. They want obedient pets. I strongly believe that a lot of cat haters grew up looking at these comics and I would post a lot more comics stating the positives of a cat rather than just saying dogs are friends, cats are jerks, if I'm the author. Dogs and cats are different animals and people are measuring them both with the same scale.
And also, dogs do NOT love us unconditionally. I think this is a ridiculous idea. Dogs ONLY love us IF we respect them. A disrespected dog will not love it's owner. Even in packs animals do not go maul or hit a lower rank pack member and that's what earns the love, trust and obedience. Love and respect come in pairs: with respect you earn love, and with love you have to pay respect.

Cats can actually be incredibly loving companions as well, and become very attached. I live on my own with one and he reacts to my every mood. However, I did fall about over the bathing the dog and bathing the cat cartoons. It's hardly worth washing a dog, they will just get dirty again, but don't even think about bathing a cat! I had to once because he got some noxious substance on himself. My marigold gloves ended up like a Hawaiian grass skirt!
I wonder who started this 'dogs are better ' agenda. Must be a company making dog food. Like the diamonds were brought to mainstream by sustained media campaign
Didn't like these, trying to be funny shows a complete ignorance about cats.
Cat people have a sense of humor. Dog people are over-sensitive and easily offended.
Cats will mirror back to you exactly how you treat them. My cats don't break things, but they have their own space. They enjoy my attention. One of them even sleeps with me, curled up against me. It is a matter of respecting them for what they are and trying to understand them, not trying to make them into dogs or people.
This is conpaing a great dog with a nasty cat.-. A nice cat would be clearly better than a nasty dog aswell. Get good comparisons pleaaaaase
I have 3 cats used to have 4 (one was recently killed by a dog) and my cats are SO affectionate. It's actually a problem sometimes. Like damn cat go away for a sec lol.
People hate cats for acting like humans. I know I wouldn't want to have belly rubs randomly or be treated like a baby. Cats like to explore but then do come back. They are curious creatures.
Overused and misleading Dogs think you are a god and cats think they are a god. In reality, cats think of you as equal or depending on how you behave.
>:( Not hilarious to me. Some dog people think dogs actions are cats actions. Cats are not dogs! They are very nice! They turn their back on you because they trust you! Search up cats actions!
I found these funny, but only because they don't tell a full story. E.g.- #4: It's true that a cat's appearance will usually be the same regardless of how he/she is feeling. What "dog people" may not understand though is that a "cat person" will still know how their cat is feeling just by looking at him/her. I find that most "cat people" understand & respect the dog/human relationship, but not vice versa. "Cat people" know that a cat walking "near to them" when they get home means the cat is psyched that they're back! They also know it's true love when they scratch their cat's head out of the blue and the cat doesn't draw blood. Most importantly, "cat people" know that a blink of the eyes from across the room means, "I love you." The cat/human relationship is a profound one, and not for everyone. That being said, I like & respect "dog people" for loving dogs as much as I do "cat people" for loving cats. We're all animal lovers.
A tip for bathing dogs: If they don't like baths, skip the calling them part. If you call them to the bath, they'll recognize it as something they don't like and it'll be harder and harder to get them into the tub the next few times you need to bathe them.
my dog of 15 yrs used to lie on the floor next to me with her head resting on my foot. She passed sfter a short illness. The first night she was gone, my cat came over, laid at my feet, and put her head on my foot. Whatever you may believe, I know she was comforting me.
My cat used to follow me around the house, greet me at the door with excitement, and hated being put down. Lol. Dog in a cat's body.
While some of these are true and funny, I feel like a good chunk of them were created by dog people who never owned a cat (or just don't like them because they don't fall all over themselves to please their owner). I've had cats all my life and none fit the a*****e stereotype. They are happy to see me walk in the door (tails upright leaning toward their heads & purring), they follow me around the house wanting attention or just like to sit nearby. They are extremely snuggly & squishy, and show shame when they get in trouble. They're not sociopaths. They're just calmer.
As someone whose owned both a dog and a cat, lemme just say, it WASN'T my cat that sent me to the hospital....twice.
One of these animals can kill you. The other one uses a litter box. Just saying.
i love they both cat and dog but animal i really don't like is human :)
I loved this post. It was funny. I have a dog and 2 cats so this is pretty accurate at my house!
