Remember the cats that don't care about their owner's personal space? Who could have thought there's more of them! I'm kidding, of course. Sitting in the toilet and staring at you trying to take a poop or climbing onto your face in the middle of your nap is what felines specialize in.

However, don't take these photos as evidence that cats can't grasp the concept of personal space. On the contrary, like most animals and people, they're surrounded by this invisible bubble, too. Of course, every cat is an individual, and just like people, attitude may vary from day to day, but in feral cat populations, normal territorial range might be more than two miles.
A cat's tolerance regarding personal space also depends on how confident or insecure the animal is.

"Cats definitely value their own personal space," Natalie Cady Bishop of Cat Behavior Solved told Bored Panda. "If it is 'invaded' they may even resort to swatting or biting you! They prefer interactions to be on their terms."
So if these animals know the importance of keeping distance, why do they sometimes are forceful for attention? According to Cady Bishop, hunger and the desire for play and affection are probably the main reasons.

And you better be ready to please your kitty's needs! Even if you don't feel like it at the moment. "There is not a polite way to 'shoo' a cat in their mind. I recommend playing with them and then giving them treats or a small meal in a puzzle feeder or treat ball. Added physical and mental stimulation will result in a happy cat who will likely choose to leave you alone," Cady Bishop explained.
"This technique usually works because a cat's normal progression is 'hunt, catch, kill, eat, groom, sleep.' This is important to remember if you have a cat who wakes you up in the middle of the night. Doing this before you go to bed may ensure that you get a more restful night's sleep."

Cats have a bunch of ridiculously sensitive hairs all over their body(think of them as misplaced whiskers) that can detect air moving when an object comes toward them. Its pretty cool

Ahh takes me back. My cats used to join me for every trip to the bathroom. When Tiggie (unexpectedly) had kittens, and they were old enough to explore on their own, she introduced them to joining me, so I had 8 cats in the bathroom with me.
