It's amazing how animals just know. The goodboi loves jumping up on my wife and giving her a hug when she comes home. In the early stages of her pregnancy, he stopped and we found it the coolest thing.

With both of my children, I only knew I was pregnant because of our cats. They would lay on my stomache when I went to bed and purr and meow instead of curling up between my legs
The term meme was first coined back in 1976. The evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins came up with it after joining the Greek word mimēma (meaning “imitated”) and the English gene. He presented the new term in his book “The Selfish Gene” likely without realizing how widespread it will become.
In his bestseller, Dawkins described memes as the cultural equivalent of a gene—it is transmitted from person to person, carries information, and mutates along the way. Much like our beloved online memes, when they’re launched into the void of the internet and start a snowball effect of generating different versions.

My old black cat when I was a kid used to do this with me. I found her as a 4week old kitten, dumped in the bush and smelling of petrol. I had her for 16yrs. She would follow me all the way to school in the morning (I walked) right up to the front gates, then she would run off. She would be waiting, without fail, everyday to walk home with me and my mates. She would come on bush walks and just hang with us. Everyone in the neighborhood called her catdog (her name was boody poody or boody to her mates) and people i didn't even know cried when she died. Best cat ever!

That’s so adorable. Sometimes when I take my dog down my country road for a walk, my cat will follow part way if she’s outside. She will often wait for us and then pop out of the brush to lead us home.

I taught K6 in Los Angeles 1980s - 90s when often I told kids if my cat Oscar's antics. So once a school year at lunchtime, I'd go home, put Oscar in pillow case slung over shoulder and sneak him into class for rest of school day. My kids loved him and his stories 😂

Bored Panda discussed the topic of memes with the creator of Meow Incorporated, Julius. When asked what was the driving force behind the page, he shared: “In 2016, I entered the Dog (or doggo) and cat (catto) meme world to share my love for animals, but specifically dogs, with the world.”
He wanted to do it in a way that integrated cute critter pictures, videos, and humor, so he added captions to show what the animals were supposedly thinking and saying. “The captions are in doggo speak for dogs and catto talk for cats since the terms reflect their personalities and how I imagine they would actually talk,” Julius added.

In all seriousness this is what you should do. Because dogs will follow you in a crisis and getting them out is easier because they'll run out with you, but cats hide and they're good at it. Most cats survive fires. They'll hide as far from the heat as possible, usually somewhere small and hard to find and wait it out. Cats definitely DO die in fires sometimes, but less often then other animals, and you can get yourself killed going back in to save them because you likely won't find them

aww. This made me miss my dad. This was him to a T.. man claimed he was allergic to cats. But when he died he had 4 rescue cats that are complete a******s because he would go to the kill shelter & ask them for the next cat that's being put to sleep. Then he said "wait.... how about the next 4 on your list. I can afford about four & a half cats with my disability pay... but we'll just call it 4 because that might be too morbid. I'm trying to save cats from being killed... ya know?" But those cats loved him so much. I adopted them when he died. They're now my a*****e cats. I love them to death. They get along with my other cats. They don't ask for much & they're starting to trust me a year later. They really loved my old man. Also, this is where it Ties into this post... I forgot to mention that he cared for 2 barn cats. They're now my barn cats. Lol. He built a beautiful warm cat tower for them for winter. We trapped them & they live in our huge barn now. I miss my dad so much.

There have been studies that show that giving prisoners dogs improves behavior and reduces violences during incarceration, and reduces recidivism post-release. Sometimes it's rescue dogs, sometimes it's training puppies as support animals, just having an animal to care for and bond with helps.

I followed someone who fostered cats, and whenever he had kittens that were not good with humans, they got send to prison. Literally. Inmates took care of the kittens until they were socialized enough to be adopted out.

I used to teach a class at the county jail and there was a wing of women that got to train service puppies. This wing was the most engaged, calmest, and overall best grounp to teach.
Memes arguably mean more to millennials and Gen Z than to any other generation so far. According to Ypulse, more than half (55%) of those aged 13-35 send memes weekly, and 30% actually do that daily. It’s not surprising, considering that an average millennial sees around 20-30 memes every day.
As stated in Ypulse, the main reason for such distribution is to make other people smile, based on the answer of 74% of those surveyed. 53% say they send it to react to something, while 28% admit to using it when they can’t express their feelings with words. This shows that people nowadays use memes not only as a source of entertainment, but as a form of communication as well.

I have two kittens I caught this past summer that were found under my neighbour’s porch to my older male cat as his adopted daughters. He just adores them. He literally reaches out his paws to grab them and grasp them to him while he grooms them. They are bigger now and sometimes wriggle out of it but also will submit to his mothering.

Years back, after having some surgery on my foot that needed daily dressing changes, my mother needed to put a towel down on the bed to work on my foot. Every time, my cat Sabrina would immediately climb up to lay down on it, so we had to start setting out a towel for her up near my head first, let her get comfortable, then put another for my foot. Twice a day, every day, for weeks. I actually looked forward to it every time because she was such an independent girl, but I could always count on her coming to be my buddy and my "nurse"

And, sorry, K-9 Hero, so will any predator on earth. Dogs from chihuahuas to St. Bernards, are predators. There are plenty of species outside those two out there. Wolves and the other canines, cats above 75lbs do view us as inferior prey. Mostly skin and bones, why would you kill it? So, yep plenty of pets, if starved, would turn to anything available for survival. We think of this and grab up “Snowflake” would never do such a thing ever. Its natural.I don't have any pets due tospace and time restraints, but when I do, I'll have it written down that if I pass away and nobody comes to know about it,then my pets are to be given to my most trusted people, and not euthanised, even if they are found having stripped my corpse bare.

Beautiful. She is a melanastic (so) tabby. If you see a black panther at at the right time and at the right angle, you can see the typical rosette shaped patterning like real silk brocade. I believe most, not all species, can produce melanistic, and their opposites, the albino and have a night and day and one of normal coloring.

Cats also take a lot more patience and effort to get to know. Most dogs will be friendly love on you immediately and always, but you have to build a relationship with cats. I have a lot of trouble talking to new people, and it takes me a long time to open up. In this way, I relate to cats, which is probably why I love them so much.

It's also a good measurement of empathy for other creatures. Dogs are predators, cats are predators too, but they're also a target prey. So while it's instinct for a dog to be the top of the food chain, having no main enemy that would directly target them and seek them out as a main food source it's normal for them to be much more fearless and outgoing, it's instinct for a cat to be much more careful and they are instinctively aware that there are predators out there who will target and hunt them. So it's quite natural for a cat to keep their distance and be more careful in new situations and thread more slowly. If people don't take this into consideration when dealing with a cat they're not well educated.

Heh, there was a cat that came by my previous work place who did something similar; I made it clear, with some difficulty, that he wasn't allowed to come inside even if the door was open. He decided to just lay on the doorstep with one elbow over it, making damn sure that he was technically complying, but that I could also go F myself.

my cat screams at me after i get home from school. i feed her at 5 30 and i get home from school, and basketball practice at around 5. so she literally SCREAMS at me.

Aww. I had a gray cat who looked just like that. She lived with me for 17 years before passing away. She was the best cat ever. Her ashes are on my mantel in an engraved box with her name on it. I still miss her so much. :(

I had to give our cat a wash because he had gotten into something and stunk really bad. It was going fine until he just said "f this" and started clawing. He actually got a claw STUCK IN MY WRIST. I had to actually remove the claw from my wrist. That sucked so hard

Okay, but... A friend and I were camping in Joshua Tree National Park when a distraught couple asked if we had seen their cat. It had escaped their zipped up tent while they went on a hike. It was never found and most likely a coyote got it.

I had undiagnosed sleep apnea, and one of my cats would climb across my face forcing me awake, which would then cause me to shift my position. I'll never know whether he knew about my condition or that he was so annoyed with my snoring that he had to stop it.

Kitties have an urge to playfight - if you offer them your hands (which is cute as long as they're small - not so much when they're fully grown). Talking from experience: when I got my two little ones they 'fought' all the time. I never iffered them my hands for this kind of play, and haven't been scratched or bitten ONCE

They make caps you can put on you cats claws to stop this from happening, but more importantly there is this thing called training where the cat can be taught not to do this. Any animal can be trained with the right motivation and time. Jackson Galaxy who does my cat from hell has a YouTube channel that give tips on how to train your cat amongst other cat related content.

Cat lovers accept whatever their cats want. My cat was rescued from outside as a kitten and never likes to be picked up. It took six months for her to come up on the arm of my chair only because she smelled the butter on my popcorn. Now she comes up to lay on the arm of my chair and will accept pets until she's had enough and rarely will sit on my lap. All her way or no way and I accept her as she is.

I have a permanently screwed up ankle because I heard my cat pre-puking in the living room one night and leaped out of bed to try and get a towel down before she heaved. Pre-puking = that noise they make before they actually throw up. "Gack gack gack". :) I had recently gotten a new bed that was higher than my old one, so I forgot it was a longer drop when I jumped out of it and went running in to the other room. That was over 3 years ago and I'm still gimpy because of it. And no, I didn't make it in time so it was all for nothing. :(

There was this TV show back in the 1960's called Lassie.' I thought at the time that they should have cast a cat in the role of Lassie instead of a collie. I hated the boy, Timmy (hey, I was only 10, plus in the dubbed, German version they gave the Timmy character this really nerve-grating voice), and when Timmy falls into the well, the cat Lassie would run home and just go to sleep on the sofa (and not get help like the stupid collie always did).

This imagine having your dinner placed in a box with a hole in the top such that the food is in reach of your finger tips at the centre of the plate but you would need to stretch and force yourself into an uncomfortable maybe even painful position to reach the food at the edges of the plate. That's why it's like for a cat with many bowls.

I volunteered at an animal shelter a number of years ago, and was given a litter of newborn kittens with their mom, to foster. We already had two other litters we were fostering, along with our own cats. Well, one of the litters we were given to foster was covered with fleas, which in turn, gave EVERYONE fleas. Since the kittens were too small for flea drops or flea shampoo, we were advised to use baby shampoo on them, since it's mild enough for the kittens, in case it gets in their eyes, but strong enough to wash off the oil protecting the fleas, so they will dry up and die. But, I'd need to bathe them every day, since new fleas hatch every day. So for over two weeks, I climbed into my bathtub, used the shower nozzle and got clawed, but bathed all 14 or so kittens. Gave our cats a flea bath, then put the drops on them. Gave one a SECOND bath, because he started drooling and shaking (bad reaction to flea drops, so he got bathed daily as well.) Baby shampoo works, though.

Yep, my cat does this too. If she can see any part of the bottom of her good bowl she hollers until I put more food in the bowl.

Depends. There's those waterproof undersheets meant to prevent bedwetters ruining their mattress. After my former cat vomited a new mattress into the trash, as I could not for the life of me get rid of the smell, I bought one of these. Paid itself multiple times!

Reminds me of the (I think) Roman bricks, and the medieval illustrated manuscript, with the cat paw prints on them. Just goes to show you that cats have been walking across our stuff, saying “I was here” by leaving their mark and making it their own, since time immemorial.

My cat does this. The soft paw grab for more petting is the cutest thing in the world. 10/10 will keep petting.
