We reached out to Gryzlock, to ask some new questions regarding their comic series. This time we wanted to find out how the artist comes up with new ideas for their strips. We learned that: “Honestly... it's harder than it looks. For me, at least. I often just stare into the voice and let my brain find a subject and put a funny twist on it. I need to feel excited about it. Whether it is funny afterward is another story.”

Asked about the recurring themes or motifs in their work, the artist answered: “There's no real theme about my comics. I just want people to bring people a bit of laughter for a moment during their day. I do have a series called ‘Beyond’ that is still ongoing even tho it's slow to update. It's about clones and how they represent humanity in the stars. If I have a theme here it would be how we could learn to be better people, but it's still a silly story?”

Gryzlock has also told us more about the characters featured in their series: “My characters are probably all generic people. I like to make it relatable most of the time. In the beginning, when I just had a few hundred followers, I sometimes took the likeness of some of my ‘fans’ and used them in my comics. I don t do this as much anymore, but it might happen again. Who knows.”

If Father Karras had just waited until Regan sneezed, things would have been much easier.

Lastly, we were wondering if the artist could tell us more about how their style evolved over time. We found out: “Initially, I just wanted to make quick comics with minimal art so that it wouldn't take me hours to draw. My characters had no clothes and not a lot of details... but the more things went on, the more I felt like I needed a bit more quality for my fans. Felt ashamed that I was taking the easy way out, and it kind of forced me to do better.”

For those who don't get it, there's a rule(?) for vampires to get permission to enter someone's house to suck their blood.

I guarantee, I DO NOT get it. No, I don't. Really don't. Believe me, I do NOT get it, at all. Don't WANT to get it; take it back.
