The internet is full of comic artists, but we are always glad to see more women-related content. Blanche.draw, a Montreal-based artist, is known for her witty and relatable comics that explore her everyday life experiences as a young woman. Blanche's comics, drawn in a simple yet expressive style, have gained over 30K followers on Instagram. The artist often features herself as the protagonist, and she isn't afraid to poke fun at her own flaws, to which many women can relate.

In a previous interview, Blanche shared that her love for comics started at an early age. "I loved to draw ever since I was a child. In high school, I used to draw non-stop in class. I liked other types of art as well, like theater and improv. But comics and drawing, in general, were the only things I couldn’t live without," shared the artist.

So without further ado, let's hop into the post, and if you are curious to see her previous posts on Bored Panda, see part 1 and part 2.

This is why I am awake and crying at 4am. I don't think there is a better example of bittersweet.

To learn more about Blanche and her artwork in the present time, Bored Panda reached out to her. First of all, we were curious about what has changed since the last post that was shared one year ago.

“Things are moving so fast on the internet, my following is slower than a year ago, but I’m not making comics for numbers, I’m happy with the following I have. I was able to make a new book out of my online comics and am planning on making more than one! I’m also going to more comic events and I’m also working on a bigger project!” Blanche shared the exciting news.

Over time, Blanche’s comics have gained quite an audience. We were wondering how the popularity or feedback from the people online has influenced her work. She shared: “I love reading comments and how people can relate to what I’m drawing. It motivates me a lot to keep going and make people laugh when I have a positive response. Sometimes there’s a bad response and I saw this happens often if I make an LGBTQIA+ post (it also happens to other comic artists), it makes me sad to see how people react to this type of post, but honestly, at the end of the day, I want my followers to support this community, so if they leave for that reason, that’s fine with me.”

Every artist deserves a supportive audience who adores their work. But the first and the biggest fan should be the artist herself, therefore, we asked Blanche to share her favorite comic that she drew so far.“This is a hard question! I don't think I have one in particular, but while looking at my work, those that I could say I like the most are those that I remember made me laugh while I was drawing them. The feeling of excitement that they gave me, I was eager to show it to the world even before it was done! I’m also very proud of my mini-series Dreamlands!” wrote Blanche.

I hate this thought so much! I just want to hold the baby nicely, not constantly be anxious because I KNOW HE'S ABOUT TO DIVE OUT OF MY ARMS AND HURT HIMSELF

We also asked Blanche to share which was her most popular post so far, and why she thinks it resonated with her audience so much.

“I just reposted my most popular to promote my new book! It’s the infinite water slide. I think it’s a nightmare that people can relate to. This post exploded in likes and views and gained me so many followers, I wasn't expecting that at all when it happened. I’m very thankful it did,” shared Blanche.

She also explained what she would like for people to take away from her comics: “I mostly make relatable situations or make something stupid. I want people to laugh, enjoy it, and if it resonates with them, engage with my content. They will find other people that relate to the same things.”

I've done that - and I'm a guy!. In the theatre, the air-conditioning is set for a hundred bodies breathing, radiating about 100-watts each. If the show is Tuesday at 2 pm, then there will only be maybe ten bodies, and then it's cold!

This is a reference to Project Makeover ads that are very strange and feature a woman covered in filth. The game is nothing like the ads.

Intrusive thoughts are a form of OCD, and the condition is treatable. Everyone has them to some degree, but if they are distressing to you, consider talking to a therapist or your family doctor.

I think it means she doesn’t want to have to say happy birthday to the guy so she unfriends him, because there’s this whole thing about everyone being obligated to say happy bday to all their friends on facebook
