That image and text is very powerful, I live in the UK so I only read about the mass shootings, however, banning a f***ing chocolate egg, seriously, what the AR- Kinder that fires 100 chocolate shells per minute?? Seriously messed up priorities....

I feel that people have gotten so desensitized to gun violence and it it truly horrifying as it seems to happen almost every day. I truly wonder about this country as an expat working and living here...

Kinder eggs are available in the USA because they're now packaged differently. The toy and the candy are packaged separately. I've been buying them for my kids for a few years now.

Ban guns. I've said it before, I'll say it again. Physcopaths shouldn't have guns readily accessible to kill children if they feel like it. School shootings shouldn't be a thing. That shouldn't be a fear.

I'm not against guns. Don't think they should be banned, but we need to really think about how people are licensed to own a gun (s), registration of all guns, tracking of sales and who should be allowed to own as far as mental competency. Boundaries need to be set. Not here to argue.

Yet Kinder surprise eggs are sold in Australia and there are very few injuries from the toys inside, there are more injuries from toys in the toy box at home, than in the Kinder surprise toys inside the eggs. Kinder surprise toys don't shoot and kill kids.

I get confused when ever I hear these eggs are banned in the US because I buy them still for my son and see then at every store. Maybe it’s a joke I am not filled it on, but I have heard mentioned several times these are banned from US. Anyone know?

I did the math, so to speak. The "egg" part is an edible chocolate shell that contains small toys. Even one child who chokes to death from one of those toys is one too many for our Food and Drug Administration. And it's an absurd comparison on it's face alongside an 8-year-old (looking) child holding an AR-15. Look at the length of its stock -- even if she could reach the trigger, firing it could dislocate her shoulder. I call it false and misleading advertising.

OK, but this is just a strawman argument. Kinder eggs are banned from being _sold_, not from being _owned_-- neither kid could get either item without their parents handing it to them. At that point, it's up to the parents to be safe-- which, granted, is a tall order (the kid with the rifle clearly hasn't been taught even basic gun safety (finger on trigger, pointing gun up instead of down)), but presenting it in this way as if the kid with the rifle can actually get it without a parent handing it to them is at best a misrepresentation of facts.
