Finnish Photographer Proves Fairy Forests Are Real In Finland (41 Pics)
Many people think of Finland as the land of cold weather, darkness, and many forest trees. However, Ossi Saarinen (previously here and here), a Finnish wildlife photographer, believes that the country is much more than just that, and he shows another surprisingly enchanting side of his motherland through nature photography.
Ossi brings pleasant feelings through his photos of spectacular Finnish nature, especially the untouched forests, that Finnish people are so proud of, covering almost three-quarters of the whole country. And within these peaceful and ancient forests, wild animals roam freely and enjoy their lives at their best.
Finnish animals appear to be very mysterious, fascinating and charming just like they've stepped out from fairytales. Ossi does not skip the chances to capture the beauty of Finnish wildlife in animal photography snaps. He believes that every encounter between the animals and humans becomes an unforgettably amazing experience (Well, let’s not talk about the encounter with a bear).
Now, let's enjoy the fairytale's atmosphere in his nature and wildlife photography portfolio.

he looks like he's saying "thank you" cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
This had to be higher! But, as I upvoted all the previous pics and will probably upvote all the following...
Reminds of Oliver twist, the mouse is like "please sir, may I have some more?"
So tiny! I’ve seen hundreds of these at one time in the mountains I laughed so hard❤️ Too cute
So much life in a being so small is amazing and a tribute the our Mother.
I especially love this, because it brings back a special memory. I gave a peanut to a squirrel and he put his tiny hand on my finger.
I had a woodmouse on my shoe last weekend. My camera did make the memory....I was watching the mouse forminutes already, when he was sitting in a bush to eat the buds, and took photo's of him. Then he did run down to the ground and walked towards me, to sit on my shoe! Awsome moments, the moment of the year . How I love nature!!
Aw! Pwease don’t take it away Mister! I’s vewwy hungrys! (I hate when people do that but this screamed for it!!)
I am obsessed with Moose! (what is plural for this amazing creature??)
They love the Winter Snow - the same as I ...... MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019 ! from ' The City of Angels '
Must be a She ...... beautiful creature. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019 ! from ' The City of Angels '
Sunning me ...... don't be angry, I am your friend. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019 ! from ' The City of Angels "
Haha, exactly my thought. The finnish are arduous people!

Fantastic work Mr Saarinen. You deserve a job in Nat Geo (only if you're interested)..
Damn, sir. You must be Dr. Doolittle... these are a-freaking-mazing. Wow.
These are the photos that inspire people to love nature and go photograph the world themselves.
I have been to Finland and it is indeed such a beautiful . Very expensive but worth it. It also has the worlds largest minefield on the Russian border.
I'm glad you liked Finland. However, the mines were removed when Finland joined the Ottawa agreement in 2011. Imo that was unwise, as landmines are an efficient and inexpensive repellent of undesirable "visitors". The decision was taken by the left-wing president Tarja Halonen against the advice of the defence forces. In view of the current world situation, it would not be a bad idea to reinstall the mines.
Load More Replies...I grew up in Northern Alberta...and the terrain and climate are pretty much identical to Finland. It is beautiful....until you have to walk half a mile to school when it's -40C, or have to start the car half an hour before you go anywhere because even with a block heater it's just not going to work otherwise. ...///...I do love my home province, but there is no way I'm ever going to live there again. You get four months of pretty followed by 9 months of freezing misery. No thanks.
It all depends on where in Finland you live. The southern archipelago where I live is not that cold for a long time. My opinion is that the darkness is harder to live with. No sun= no vitamin D= depression. Still love Finland and could never think of moving.
