It really is a dumb way for BP to basically not moderate their own site

BoredPanda has some of the worst trolls I’ve ever seen on a website. In the “red flag tattoo” post their are users spreading hate speech—one user was even spreading anti semitic hate speech. Even if you report trolls BoredPanda does nothing. I was on BoredPanda since it started and it saddens me that they are just turning into a more highbrow version of Buzzfeed and don’t care about their users. They need to give us a way to flag hate speech and block trolls.

They are starting to lose a lot of good users. Plus, they censor artists’ work on this site. I have absolutely no idea what the heck they are doing, but it isn’t getting rid of any trolls.

My last account had over 7k upvotes ( I think) but I was permanently banned for a comment that was not popular by some ( I never really understood why). I would have commented on one of your previous comments... but it seems you might have been banned or suspended already.

Loki - because I disagree, the downvote button is there to be used and we shouldn't be told by other users of this site when to use or not to use it. Having said that I myself barely downvote.

Just be careful Boredkitten, fellow Panda users really don’t like waking up and finding out that their accounts that they’ve had for years have been banned because someone disagreed with them. We don’t want you to get banned or suspended either. Many of us here are really hurt and frustrated at BoredPanda for their censorship and treating their users like this.

Actually, boredkitten, M Rob said PLEASE DO NOT DOWN VOTE, which is a request, not a demand, and then provided some excellent information to back up the request. A lot of people on BP don't realise that downvoting doesn't just indicate you don't like or agree with the comment. The way BP "moderates" the site (I use the term loosely) means people get banned temporarily or even permanently just because people didn't agree with a perfectly inoffensive comment.

Hey boredkitten, you're right of course that the buttons were originally meant to be used, but please consider what Loki said above... This banning policy was implemented not long ago, and many pandas aren't aware that downvoting will now lead to bans (which is why I keep posting this info every now and then, too). I think it's not really worth getting someone banned over a different opinion. So until we can (maybe!) convince BP to reconsider this policy, wouldn't it be fair if we all kept downvoting to a minimum? ...Also LOKI now that I have your attention, if you're reading this, please drop me a message. ☺

Hi Bored Retsuko. I am one of those users who already downvote to minimum as far as comments are concerned. You can see on my profile that I am a big upvoter :) However, it is nice of you to spend your free time and energy on this and reach out to BP if you are unhappy with the way they operate. Best of luck with resolving it.
