50 People Who Asked For Something And Were Surprised When Their Request Was Taken Literally (New Pics)
You've probably heard of malicious compliance, an occurrence when people take the rules given in the most direct manner, and they end up fulfilling the request way too literally. We previously made a curious list about such entertaining instances that you can check out right here.
But this time, we are giving malicious compliance a foodie treatment, and we are gonna look at what happens when the subject of request is your food order. Take hangry people, witty chefs, and hilarious miscommunication and mix it all together, and here you go, you just encountered delicious compliance.
After you’re done scrolling through this punny compilation, make sure to check out part 1 right here, and hit us in the comments if you've ever been served something like that!

Malicious compliance is the term used to describe when someone takes a superior's orders literally, knowing and intending that compliance may have unintended or negative results. Usually, it’s intentional, but sometimes it’s purely accidental. Delicious compliance is a spin-off of this occurrence and it involves food orders.
Anyhow, such compliance has to do with our mode of thinking, or rather the lack of it. What happens if we take things too literally? Is it possible to take them too literally? Very often we take something at its face value simply to avoid the burden of thinking. Just like agreeing with an idea because it’s an easy way out. Or we interpret it in a way that aligns with our ideas, beliefs and values.

My Daughter Asked For A Rapunzel Birthday Cake. I Made Her One
No wonder the result is often unpleasant if the process lacks the process of thinking and reflecting upon the situation. We get used to getting orders and being told what to do, especially at work. Bluntly complying with orders also limits our potential to understand how things work, so it stops the potential for progress.
Most importantly, thinking before acting and measuring its consequences will help to reduce breakdowns in communication so that we can all be more open and willing to not just do what we’re told, but to do what’s best in a given situation. And this makes a whole lot of difference!

Asked For A Light Snack When I Got To Grandmas, Couldn’t Have Been Happier
Your grandma seems to fix food like my Grandma used to do. I used to go over at mealtimes only because she wanted to feed me so much, and she would say, "Now in the fridge, I have........ and then in the freezer, there's some x, y and z." When I went to see her in the hospital, the nurses brought her a small (half-sized can of) coke. She was like, "Would you split my coke with me?" "In the drawer are some cookies your Mom brought me." I couldn't believe it. She managed to feed me even while she was in the hospital. This picture reminded me of such fond memories!

Celebrating extra calories, aren't we? :P Ok, some of these photos look ok, some are even funny, but many pictures are just disgusting, with too much mayo, too much cream, to much gravy, too much bacon, too much chocolate, too much grease.
Exactly. It's kind of gross how we celebrate being excessive. Especially when it means being MORE unhealthy.
Load More Replies..."I'm pretty sure no one is eating these greasy monstrosities in one sitting" -- you haven't met anyone like me and my brothers, I'm guessing. ;-)
Load More Replies...Fun story. I once asked a Subway employee for a buttload of jalapeños, and he asked me to specify what kind of butt I meant and listed some butts. I went with an elephant's buttload and it was so packed with jalapeños that I had to take a happy pic. I felt compelled to eat it in the restaurant to show him I wasn't just fronting my spice love, but he honestly might be the coolest guy to ever exist, you guys. I miss him
My famous almost-last words: "Make that hot chocolate as chocolate as possible". So they put in 90% dark chocolate, no sugar, and a bit of milk. Never ever challenge some Europeans on "as chocolate as possible". (Note: I drank it. no sugar. And was awake for about 15 hours...)
Can't tell you how many times I've paid extra for something I requested, only to get the same amount as usual. Why can't I be as lucky as these people.
I asked for a shitload of pickles on my hamburger at McDonalds . They gave me a burger with 2 inches of pickles
Dude called into the pizza shop I worked at. He was a bit of a dong on the phone to me. He mentioned he liked spicy pizza. The extra chilies he stressed. I looked at my coworkers. I told them what he wanted. We all had that "say no more fam" look about us. I took the container of chilies and proceeded to pour half a cup of them onto his medium pizza. We expected to get in trouble for sabotaging his pizza. Nope. He called back. "Give me the same thing as last time. I loved it."
Why does this never happen with avocados, when I always order extra lol. Always a single sad paper-thin slice extra
How much "extra" anything you get depends on who handles your order. Junior or disgruntled staff will usually be generous while senior staff or the proprietors will be mindfull of profits.
These meals could almost all feed a family of four. Do y'all eat it all in the US? Or do you toss away like half of it? Or eat for four days? I'm curious!
In the US here, most of these would be saved and eaten the rest later. Like when we order pizza for our family of 4, we have dinner for 2 nights at least.

Every fish and chip shop in Australia will generally give you one or two extra potato cakes without you asking, EXCEPT the one time you expect them to so order less than you want!
I'm Australian and I have no idea what a lot of this, but then I rarely eat takeaway food.
Some of these are r/maliciouscumpliance, but my favorite are the results of asking nice.
Meanwhile at Subway when asking for extra vegetables, you get one more of that vegetable Lol
What makes you think these are all American? Or that all Americans overeat?
Load More Replies...I hate to be the business owner with employees wasting food like this. Not funny. Sad.
Part of it is the 'throw-away date' and employees instinctively not wanting to waste product. If the throw-away date on something is coming up fast, or a new delivery has been scheduled in advance it's better to serve up the surplus when able than have it be thrown in the trash. Plus, if the customer is astute, they can make good use of that extra. When my local Chinese restaurant overloads me with their homemade sweet & sour, it goes in the freezer and used as a glaze on baked chicken later.

Beside the request for more veggies, the other stuff is excessive. You're just adding a TON of calories for what is already rather unhealthy. Why is this being praised so much? What happened to caring about health?
My friend made me a birthday cake: asked what I want. I'm indecisive and couldn't even choose between chocolate or vanilla! She made It, but I didn't expect a cake like this: (LINK https://imgbox.com/OYKNYP3D). She's thinking of doing professional cakes, so is practising by making them for friends and family ^-^) it melted a bit on transit but: one layer is choc cake, other vanilla, edible flowers over and as a lift between the two cake. It was super yum too. I hope she does start a business one day, she's already doing better cakes than this
