5-Year-Old Wins The Hearts Of 53k Instagram Followers With Her Huge Hair But Some People Are Concerned
Mia Aflalo is only 5-years-old and has already made her mark on the fashion market and the internet, thanks to her naturally long, beautiful hair. Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, this little girl has racked up 53.2k Instagram followers and been featured in British Vogue.
While this level of success could lead to the makings of a diva, Mia’s hairstylist Sagi Dahari told The Daily Mail she’s quite the opposite. “Princess Mia” never complains or argues. Rather, she prefers to “wait patiently and smile at everyone.”
Despite her numerous fans, many people find exposing a child so young to such a level of social media and public limelight is harmful. One commenter noted “It’s not just the friends you want to impress who go on Instagram, there are bad people everywhere. You are endangering her life as well as her present and future mental health.”
Others disagreed and believed the amazing photos were all in good fun, like one commenter who said: ‘I hardly think this beautiful girl cares how she looks for random strangers on the internet. She most likely feels pretty and confident, as she is!’

Share on FacebookI don't particularly agree with it. We are dealing with the backlash from a "generation of narcissism" which is putting great pressure on men and women alike to conform to standards that are not only hard to meet, but also completely facile and meaningless. The luck of our genetic make-up or our online social prowess should not be tied to our self worth. However, I don't know this family, and its not for me to condemn or assume to know them. If the child is happy and healthy than cool, I'm just not sure if we should be promoting beauty in this way.
if she's having fun, great. Let her go for it. The money can get her a first class education. One hopes that the instant it stops being fun, her parents will pull her out of the business. I have one prediction, though. In about ten years, in a fit of adolescent angst, she's going to take a pair of sewing shears to her hair. //// It's a teenager thing.

I cannot speak to whether the child is affected by being a model, or if she enjoys her work. I do think displaying a small child in beauty posses is very, very inappropriate and dangerous. These pictures sexualize the child.
Dressing up once like this, would be a great day for mum and daughter. Doing this regularly however is writing the future of this child in the language of self idolisation. If that's what the mum wants, fine. The kid is an empty slate. She could be running around in dungarees with a bucket and get dirty playing in the garden, learning about physical limits and healthy interactions with others and nature or..... ...or she could be growing up having to look like she's 15 years older and liking it because of the kardashians and mum's vanity. Both valid. Both will produce a different kind of person. And it is the mum that will set the course. I just hope it is the best for the little girl.
Child pageant USA and other c**p that should be illegal because mothers want their children to be what they never could have been...
Either I REALLY don't get makeup these days or maybe I'm missing something... sure there were a couple pictures where she had lipstick and stuff on but the people complaining about making her up...she just looks like a naturally beautiful little girl with amazing hair! If she is enjoying herself then let her be however the minute she wants to quit and do something else either while remaining in the public eye or completely out of it the parents need to support it and not force her to be in the public eye. She is beautiful and I adore her hair stop being so judgy to such a cutie pie and if she's happy be happy for her!
Yes I agree, didn't really see any makeup. People are so stupid. If she was in a Carter's ad as a model no one would say anything negative

Why would you not follow a five year old on Instagram? Are 5 year olds not worthy of being followed? There are trees and buildings that have Instagram accounts and people follow them.

Yes big bow head is adorable. What great hair and those beautiful eyes
