Russian Fisherman Posts Terrifying Creatures Of The Deep Sea On Twitter, And People Want Him To Stop
Russian fisherman Roman Fedortsov's twitter account is flooded with photos of the most bizarre deep-sea creatures ever. The man behind the camera works on a fishing trawler in Murmansk (extreme northwest of Russia) and uses his phone to document the scary creatures that get pulled in the fishing nets. Some argue that the strange fish look like something from a horror movie. However, Fedortsov shows no signs of fear when handling these weird sea animals and even adds some sense of humor to his tweets.
The pictures invoked some controversy and backlash with arguments such as deep sea creatures should be left alone. Many of the deep-sea fishes die because of the change of pressure when brought to the surface, and this raises the question of whether they should be killed just for the sake of a sensational tweet. Plus, after seeing such scary fish for the first time, people are afraid humans would destroy the delicate ecosystem of the mysterious ocean floor beings.

Oh and make sure you take the pills too... If you don't the exit it laid could hatch and then you're really going to have a problem... 😳😳😳😂🤣😂😂🤣🦠🦠🦠
This one has a human-ish face - the eyebrows, the eyes, nose and mouth... so creepy!
Never go to South America for dental work!!! I paid to have all my teeth redone with new veneers and they all fell off!!! I'm so devastated!!! My modeling career is OVER!!!!!
I chose not to comment on any of the photos, because I too agree that these creatures BELONG in the deep, NOT on somebody's table awaiting a photo op. Exploiting and killing innocent animals for the purpose of a photo is WRONG. What's wrong with people these days?
Making fun of dead beings is simply wrong. Even if they were alive, this is not a freak show. We should rather be humble considering in what hostile environments these creatures manage to live.
Load More Replies...I believe he's not fishing these only for pictures purpose but well because they are bycatch caught during deep-sea fishing. I will only add one thing: stop deep sea trawling! https://www.bloomassociation.org/en/
You are entirely right: according to BP's caption, this guy works on a trawler, and these deep sea creatures are a "collateral damage" to this extremely destructive way of fishing. Thanks for the link you mentioned, I'll immediately look it up.
Load More Replies...This really made me skin crawl. Unfortunately even if the fish were put back in the sea, they wouldn't survive due to the change in pressure, hence why most of their eyes have ballooned. Not condoning what is happening though, this type of fishing is so harmful.
