The hardships of being a woman have been documented since the dawn of the world. It’s always a damsel in distress taking care of her husband, children, and household while looking after herself to comply with the beauty standards of the age.

The many worries stacked on top of her fragile shoulders can't compare in their severeness though to the general sexism beliefs about women’s image and their bodies, to this day making it seem as though we ladies don't own our bodies, but rather are here for men’s entertainment.

Now, feminism and feminist views aren't something we usually associate with funny feminist memes and jokes. Still, humor is often the best medium to convey cold, hard facts and the ugly truth.

What Does Feminism Stand for Today?

The original goal of feminism is to bring change and empowerment to every woman and girl’s life. As a complex and diverse movement with a long history, feminism aims to achieve equal rights, opportunities, and support for people of all genders.

Today the movement is influenced by various theories and perspectives, such as Black feminism, queer feminism, and intersectional feminism, that recognize the diversity and interconnectedness of different forms of oppression and discrimination.

Feminism uses various forms of activism and communication, such as social media, protests, and art, to fight the patriarchy and colonial structures that limit the freedom and potential of women and gender-diverse people. Feminism today isn't only about females but about anyone who is affected and seeks gender equality.

50 Best Feminism Memes

Feminist memes are a great way to create humor and express the views of the feminist movement. Whether these digital creations are funny, sarcastic, or empowering, they can educate and inspire people. This form of art and activism covers many different topics.

There are plenty of tweets about feminism that are so funny that even the manliest men laugh at them. But the online world expands way beyond Twitter, so Bored Panda has decided to gather some of the best feminist and sexist memes from all over the internet.

Pregnancy struggles, anti-harassment clothes, this list features it all, and then some more of these funny jokes. Even Simone de Beauvoir would be laughing at these sexism examples. Scroll down to check out 50 feminist memes to keep you entertained and motivated! Share with a friend and upvote the best memes by these brave and funny women.

What Is a Short Quote About Women’s Rights?

As there are many short quotes about women’s rights, we selected a few from well-known women who best express the importance and value of gender equality and justice.

  • “I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat.”

British author, journalist, literary critic, and travel writer Rebecca West.

  • “The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.”

French fashion designer and founder of the Chanel brand Coco Chanel.

  • “I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.”

American writer, professor, philosopher, radical feminist, poet, and civil rights activist Audre Lorde.

  • “Feminism isn’t about making women stronger. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.”

You can't "turn your son gay". He's born gay. Embrace what he is.

Funny thing is how hetero boys like playing with Barbies because they were too young when they were last allowed to see a naked women's body. Kids are curious.

As a child I had a big box of barbies and a yard full of big metal dump trucks and dirt piles. Kids should play with whatever toys they want.

Women look at Barbie and say 'its not natural for women to have that shape'. Men look at the action figure and say 'it's an action figure'...

When I hear men tell me that they grew up with 'idealised' bodies on their toys too I have to explain that the girls' dolls were designed to correspond to men's ideas of an ideal female body and boys' dolls were deisgned to fulfill men's ideas of an ideal male body. Women's opinions are not involved in either. This is all male fantasy land.

Because ALL men have the exact same idea of what an ideal body is like. There's no such thing as a women who's into buff dudes. It's not like I exist or something. You really love complaining and making stuff up. Also, nobody has ever thought of a doll or action figures body type and thought "haha stupid kids will be insecure for the rest of their lives" because kids don't care what a fictional character's body looks like, only Karens like you do. How stupid can you be?

It's called having an idol. It's called play. In his mind, the child is acting as if the toy is real and abstractly puts his mindset, as if he were the wrestler, into that toy. Kids don't play with toys based on their attractiveness, ya fool.

Anyone who thinks this way needs to look up The Baby X experiment. I would say that parents behavior towards a baby changes depending on if they perceive the child to be a boy or a girl.

Shouldn't feminism instead be focusing on how awful a portray of women that barbie doll is?

Yes it’s an impossible goal for 99.9% of the female population... there is that one freak that has actually made herself into a living Barbie Doll. And yes she’s a train wreck & a half!!!

That "Normal, Straight Toy" looks like a WWE participant gone hobo. Who in their right minds buys their kids that? Beside, Barbies are crappy enough plastic for it to be fun to decapacitate them....

Sheamus is a decent guy who wrestles very well. And how is bracers and underwear 'gone hobo'? I mean, WWF/WWE have wrestlers that have *actually dressed like hobos*. But I do agree with beefcake. Him, Finn Balor, and Drew MacIntyre....yummy Celtic men.....*sigh* Besides, most of the wrestlers, m & f are great role models. Especially for girls. Be a strong, beautiful, smart woman who kicks a*s, take names, & put up w/ no c**p? Yes Yes Yes!!! Several have degrees, Xavier Woods has a doctorate, ffs. They participate in charities that encourage kids, and prove that brains and beauty can go hand in hand, but that the brains are priority. Yes, I buy these for all my kids.

The image is kinda right actually (even tho it is not as simple as that unfortunately). Before puberty kids look for role models in the family and outside. Mum shows us how how to be a woman first, then we look for external examples, the street, TV and so on. Same goes for boys and this is why many young man without a man figure in their life are troubled (father, a close uncle, a family friend). So these toys are modifying your self image. Then in teenage years the sexuality is developed and teenagers started looking at the gender of preference and to explore it sexually. A young boy playing with a superman forms the image of a perfect man (a.k.a what he wants to become one day) and feels like eeeewww towards girls , but as soon as he develops his sexuality at 11-12 he gets much more interested into seeming a good boob then a sweaty muscled dude. The same way a gay boy might be more curious towards female action characters or barbies in young age, but as soon as he hits puberty he is interested into other boys.

Probably because the "son" take the roleplay of the toy he's playing with.

Barbie: it is the reason why women are ashamed of their own body, it is too sexual, it is a wrong image of women. Buffed up Wrestler : It's a toy!

Sure, but the cool thing about wrestling action figures is that they are modeled after real people. They come in both genders, all different sizes, races, age etc.

What Is a Famous Feminist Quote?

Probably, the most famous and worldwide-spreading feminist quote was said by an American politician, diplomat, and First Lady Hillary Clinton: “Human rights are women’s rights, and women’s rights are human rights.”

This quote is from a speech at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, in 1995.

The speech was titled Women’s Rights are Human Rights and addressed the issues and challenges women face worldwide. The speech was widely praised and considered a landmark moment in the global women’s movement.

[New content bellow]

As feminist memes, some quotes can be either funny or strong. Of course, we might have different understandings of strong, but at Bored Panda, this quote is pretty mean but full of power.

What Is a Popular Feminist Slogan?

As phrases or statements that express the beliefs and goals of the feminist movement, popular feminist slogans are widely used to raise awareness, inspire action, and challenge oppression.

  • “The future is female.”

It originated from a 1970s lesbian separatist movement and was revived as a symbol of women’s empowerment and leadership.

  • “Nevertheless, she persisted.”

It’s inspired by a remark made by Senator Mitch McConnell in 2017 when he tried to silence Senator Elizabeth Warren during a debate on the nomination of Jeff Sessions as attorney general.

  • “Girls just want to have fun-damental’s rights.”

This slogan plays on the lyrics of the 1983 song “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper. It highlights the contrast between the stereotypes of women as frivolous and carefree and the reality of women’s struggles.

All these slogans, quotes, and women memes prove feminism isn't only a theory but a practice and a vision for a more just and peaceful world. They blend humor with poignant commentary on gender equality and sexism, highlighting how satire and wit can effectively communicate women’s challenges.
