Artist Creates Felted Versions Of People’s Pets And The Waitlist Is Already 3 Months Long (98 Pics)
Each and every animal owner loves to take pictures of their pets playing, sleeping, or just fooling around to preserve the memory of the best moments of their lives. However, one artist discovered a better way to immortalize our companions. That's by felting seemingly tiny doppelgängers of our best friends.
Alyson Gurney is a 23-year-old artist from Washington, DC, who is behind an Instagram account called Little Felted Friends. She creates uncannily accurate felt sculptures of beloved pets—dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, and sometimes even hedgehogs. All of them are inspired by digital photos sent to the artist. Each tiny sculpture is crafted with 100% wool and has hand-painted glass eyes. What's really interesting is that there's also a tiny heart felted within each sculpture to make it even more lovable.
"With a background in graphic design and printmaking, I’ve always been interested in creating art. When I discovered needle-felted mystical creatures on Instagram, I knew I had to try it; so, I started by creating my favorite subject: my dog. It grew from making my friends' pets to selling them all over the world," the artist explains to Bored Panda. "I never imagined the demand for Little Felted Friends would be so high—I currently have a 3-month-long waiting list that continues to grow! I release a set number of slots every month and they sell out within 3 minutes. After all, our pets are our most cherished friends, and it’s such an honor to craft each one."

I have literally just paid this morning for a needle-felted version of my Wire Fox Terrier dog from when she was a puppy. Needle-Fel...93e09d.jpg
I don't know how much postage to the US would cost but the lady who made my little pup cost £30 - about $39.
