I Started Photographing Swedish Nature As A Therapy After I Injured My Back, Now It’s My Passion
Through photography, I’ve found a deep passion and curiousness for our beautiful nature. Three years ago I damaged my back while working. This changed a lot of things in my life, most activities I couldn’t do anymore and I needed to change my career. And then I bought a camera – nature photography started out as therapy for me but quickly turned into something else.
Ever since I was a child I have enjoyed spending time in deep in forests, and I’ve been of the creative character. Somehow I have found the perfect balance for me, I can be creative in taking nature photos. For me the most important thing about photography is to show that there is natural beauty in everything, everyone experiences an image in different ways and that’s the beauty of it. I’m trying to show my own mood combined with nature’s mood in my photography. There are millions of small details in the beautiful forests and countryside that I’ve seen through the lens, things I never thought of before. And those details and feelings that I see I want the viewer to experience in my photo series.

Love of nature
With this shot, I was trying to show my gratitude towards nature in both funny and serious ways.
Last light
I was walking along this river on the first day of snow when I found this little red cabin in the woods. Luckily, the sun was setting right behind it.
First snow
In this shot I wanted the viewer to experience the feeling that I felt standing by the road like they could touch the snowflakes. I set the focus at 5 feet and the shutter speed at 1/1000 to bring out the snowflakes.
Red
I often like to work with selective color, or splashing. This way I try to make objects pop out and create a certain calm to the beautiful landscape. This shot is taken while it’s raining.
Swedish woods
This is taken just when the morning light pierces through the trees and every little spiderweb gets illuminated.
Calm waters
Late evening at one of my favorite spots. A goose family has settled for the night.
The shed
This old shed is a favorite of mine, I’ve taken shots of it in different weather and seasons. I love the rusty roof and the patina of the walls, for me there’s both something sad and beautiful with old buildings.

Anyone who built these boats as a child?

Share on FacebookMagnus I love these photographs, I'm thinking g of getting a camera myself and giving it a try, do you have any advice on any good camera starter kits to get me going ? Thank you
Hi there Kye! It depends on your budget ofcourse 😁. But I love my Pentax k3, it has everything I want from a camera, especially the waterproof feature. But it the real important matter is the lens. The first lens that you want to buy is a good 50mm lens with nice aparture, 1.2, 1.5, 1.7 or 1.8. Then to start with I would buy a ca 18-85mm lens, and remember to buy waterproof lenses as well. There's often fog, rain or snow 😏
