When my husband and I were married 31years ago, we didn't have much trouble. One bank manager refused to give us a home loan but the next one was fine. We got a few funny looks but I think that was because our town was small back then. In the city nobody gave us a second look!!

I just can't imagine this. How it exists, and how you say it as "didn't have much trouble". Like it was something you are expected to deal with. Seriously just the dumbest creatures in the world, us, humans. As if we don't have actual real problems in our own lives. People take time to try and make things worse for others. I hardly have enough energy to keep myself doing what needs to be done to keep my family running. You had to deal with others who you may meet and interact with for a few days and over come what amounts to a utter ignorance on their part. How you have the energy to put up with that is inspiring. How people like the Bank manager who has the extra energy to try and hurt others, is just ugly.

Honestly, racism is just so... silly. I can't understand why you'd hate someone just because their adaptational genetic background is different from yours. Like.... wut. We're all human beings here and the only thing a person should ever be judged on is how they treat others.

So sad that apartheid still existed back then. So many lives shattered. As for racism it is something I don't comprehend. Human races don't existed since we can breed with any human! The term races should applied for animals. A worm can't breed with a snail, a horse with a chicken and so on. Remember that all humans originally from the continent of Africa.

Woah hot couple back then. Its such a shame. I've actually had a conversation with an older white man because he said i reminded him of a young black girl he use to go to school with and loved but he couldn't date her. He always wonders about her. I'm so happy I live in a time where I see 14 years old mixed couples holding hands like there was never an issue. <3

Today my 91 yr old neighbour came crying to me because his dear dog suddenly died and he asked me to help him. I ran to little Jack who had no pulse but was warm and tried to resuscitate him to no avail. We cried so much together. It was heartbreaking. But he thanked me for trying. I honestly tried my best. A girl in my geography class had to bring her newborn to class today. The baby started crying in the middle of our quiz. I have been dealing with depressions for about two years with having worse moments through out the last year. On top of that i have been single for nearly the same time. Reading those stories gives me the feeling that i am not alone and this particular list made me smile and cry like a damn fool. But it helped. Thank you all for this.

Ok, jerks at BP, I am 6'4" 250 pounds off tattooed cowboy boot wearing man. Running a police impound yard, with truck drivers and ticked off people coming and going all day. Who has made it through like 4 pages and am FREAKIN BROKEN!! I am not allowed to cry at work!!! hahahahaha

Thanks for this, couldn't stop crying or make it through the whole thing. My husband of 40 years died three months ago and today was particularly bad trying to take care of all the piddly things that have to be done. This made it so much better, thank you, thank you, thank you.

I got to work knowing that I had woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, so I immediately decided I would Google to find something uplifting the moment I sat down at my desk. Alas, my homepage (boredpanda!) delivered without even having to search! I'm only a few pages in and I've got this bookmarked as "READ WHEN YOU ARE FEELING DOWN." The thing that breaks my heart is looking at so many kind people and knowing they are the ones that western society often writes off, a "bad a*s" teenager, an overweight black woman working as a server in a diner, the elderly, an Iranian school teacher, a "creepy" guy with long hair...but there they are, living their life and being kind.
