When it comes to heights, having a healthy dose of fear is completely natural. It is also linked to the fear of falling, which serves as a protective mechanism for most of us. However, some people seem to be fearless, pushing the boundaries of safety and even risking their lives by climbing to the edges of rooftops, rocky mountains, or even on a windowsill to reach a dirty spot on the ninth floor.

Today, we would like to present you with some of the craziest images from all over the internet that Bored Panda collected of adrenaline enthusiasts reaching unnerving heights. These experiences, which have either been photographed by others or documented by the daredevils themselves, can seem like an unattainable adventure for regular people, not to mention people with acrophobia (the fear of heights). So whether you are actually afraid of heights or simply are not a fan of putting your life at risk, these images will serve you as an adventure you would never take but could enjoy from the safety of solid ground.

Provided those harnesses are actually being used and are clipped up, this is the one I'd be okay with.

That the structure isn’t strong enough and a hundred people walking down at once will make it fall away.

Yeah. This is expert level mountain climbing. That said, notice she's actually roped in with a belay down below. While she should be wearing a helmet for multiple reasons (falling debris and possible slip & head wack), this could be safe.

My daughter sent me a picture of a hummingbird from a mountain platform in Ecuador when she went there last year on a trip with her college to build bridges and animal shelters. This reminds me of that picture. They were halfway up the mountain and it was a wooden platform with no rails around the sides, just some lights on the edges. I panicked for days. This really is scary for me.

"There sat Sam, looking cool and calm, in the heart of the furnace roar; and he wore a smile you could see a mile, and he said: 'Please close that door. Since I left Plumtree, down in Tennessee, it's the first time I've been warm.' "
