Woman Points Out Hilariously Bad ‘Fashion’ That Is Being Marketed To Plus-Sized Women By Fashion Nova (19 Pics)
Recently, TikToker That Other Hannah stumbled across a clothing line she thought was so ridiculous, she just had to roast it. So, the woman released a series of entertaining videos where she criticized the outfits.
"You know all those videos where we've been calling out [companies] for their absolutely ugly, out-of-touch collections for plus-size people?" That Other Hannah asked her followers. "Well, now it's time to add another brand to the list that needs to be brought to justice."
And that brand is Fashion Nova.

Hannah covers a lot of different topics on her page including self-love, eating disorder recovery, and ending the negative stigmas that are often associated with being fat. Plus, she is also the creator of Plus Size Mystery Box. So cool!
She told Bored Panda she still can't believe that her little TikTok blew up the way it did. "I made the video because one day I was scrolling through a Fashion Nova marketing e-mail while showing my boyfriend how weird and ugly some of the items were. He said my commentary was pretty funny and suggested I make it into a TikTok," Hannah explained the origins of her Internet fame. "I had seen some other plus-size retailers getting roasted on my FYP recently, so I decided to go for it. I never expected it to get as much attention as it did."
If You'd Like To Pay 35 Dollars For A Pair Of Shorts That Look Like They've Been Through A Wood Chipper, Fashion Nova Has You Covered... But Also Not Really
I Know This Is Supposed To Say Queen, But You Cannot Tell Me It Doesn't Look Like It Says Queez
As a plus-size woman, Hannah often feels frustrated with the clothing choices offered to her. "Although my video was about clothing being sold by Fashion Nova, my frustration is with fast fashion (especially in plus sizes) overall," she said. "Of course, I acknowledge I am not an authority on fashion and the comments I made were solely based on my personal taste. The goal was to point out the bizarre and lazy decision-making with the items they are offering. For instance, the upside-down prints, bizarre color schemes, and charging $35+ for items that are barely a scrap of fabric."
And she's definitely onto something—the pandemic has taken a real toll on the American plus-size clothing industry. VOGUE Business reported that Ascena Retail, which owns leading US plus-size clothing retailer Lane Bryant (sizes 12-28), filed for bankruptcy in July, and more than 150 Lane Bryant stores were scheduled to close.
Lane Bryant, along with Ascena's other brands, was sold to Premium Apparel, an affiliate of Sycamore Partners. If we were to take a broader look across the fashion market, we'd see that higher manufacturing costs of plus-size apparel are frightening some investors.

How would you wear a bra with it? My boobs would DEF. be exposed if I didn’t! 🤣
But that might be a missed opportunity. Market research by NPD suggests that plus-size in the US alone is growing at nearly twice the rate of the whole apparel market. A growth rate of 4 percent is likely for the $24 billion US market. Globally, the plus-sized market is valued at about $178 billion, with projected 4.3 percent annual growth through to 2028, Acute Market Research noted.
To put things into perspective, NPD estimates 70 percent of women in the US wear a size 14 (EU 44, UK 18) or larger. In the UK, the average woman’s clothes size is 18. However, less than 20 percent of apparel is made in those sizes. Plus-sized consumers have faced limited design options as well as inferior quality.
Whether Fashion Nova is part of the problem or the solution, it's up to you.

"Plus size women are consistently left out of fashion trends and shopping can be daunting," Hannah said. "I often end up paying $70 or more for a single article of clothing at a typical plus size retailer. Your choices are extremely limited. The only affordable and trendy places you can shop are usually fast fashion, which is bad for the environment and also supports unethical labor practices."
"Your other more sustainable options are wildly expensive and often extremely matronly and unflattering. Not to mention that many brands don't even bother to hire plus-size models to actually display the clothes on their website. It's incredibly demoralizing and frustrating to try to find clothing as a plus-size woman."
Hannah highlighted that being able to express yourself through your personal style is important to everyone—it builds confidence and self-esteem. "We all deserve to be able to find clothing in our size, our style, and our price range without having to literally beg brands to include us," she said.

I agree, it's certainly not as bad as most of the others
Load More Replies...Actually, who do this woman this SHE is . She’s no oil painting , her clothes are more suited to a charity shops back room . She may find herself very important. But having nothing to offer other than critical thinking, is let’s face it...... the easiest thing in the world . RIP HRH. P. Phillip
does it ever repeat the number for you guys too or am i crazy
I mean a cheesy bleach dyed shirt isn’t that much better or worse than some jewel toned blue top and rockabilly cat lady electric blue glasses so...
Brands making plus size collections that are not potato sacks is a great thing! Normal size collections can be questionable too.. I worked in clothing store 10-15 years ago, the plus size women were the most grateful customers when they found even one piece that fitted them, and wasn't said potato sack or something from men's section.
Agreed, it's a great thing to have beautiful clothes available for all body types....but the clothes in this particular post are awful regardless of body type.
Load More Replies...Well, if you don't mind me saying, Fashion Nova is known for making ridiculous clothing. Even their standard sized things are the same ridiculous cheap garbage.
What a waste of natural resources. Stop making weird fake-clothes!!
I have to say those clothes did not do those gorgeous models justice.
The fact that they make plus size clothes is irrelevant. This is just some troll s**t-talking a brand out of nowhere. Don't like it? Fine, don't buy it. Why target this one brand?
I've seen a lot of complaints from plus-sized women that it is almost impossible to find a plain tshirt or blouse in their size. It's all stuff like this. So, no, they can't just go buy another brand.

To be fair, the non-plus sizes at Fashion Nova are just as bad, if not worse. Lotta bike short bodysuits (i will never understand bike shorts.)

I like Nisipisa on YouTube. She ROASTS plus size and fast fashion on the regular, and is a hilarious ...queez...
Luckily, there are many other options for clothing. If you don’t like it then don’t buy it, regardless of your body type.
So a big girl doesn’t like EVERY SINGLE THING at FashionNova and now we need an article about it? FashionNova, just like Forever 21 or Zara or whatever, has ugly clothes and cute clothes. I mean the same thing applies to Bloomingdale’s and Armani Exchange or Nordstrom or anywhere else you can shop. Some people like shirts with silly slogans. So what. Half of these things were just club outfits and she mocks them as if they were meant to be demure. She just seems like a mean bitch. And she has fugly glasses, a disgusting haircut and a cheesy top on too so I don’t know what makes her feel so qualified. Half the people on this site hate fashion too so really this is a big miss.
You can't just size up straight sized clothing and call it a day.
I bet fashion nova makes bank with these clothes. Seems to me they are making clothes for a specific target market.
I mean, isnt it just about taste? This has absolutely nothing to do with size
Yeah, cause actual people’s legs are that smooth...especially when they have additional fat on them.... I am short and overweight. I can fit in EU M and S sizes, but my inner thighs are still bumpy as f*ck. None of the above can look good on a normal person no matter plus sized or not...
Dying! (And my seasonal/pollen allergies kicked me in the nose today so I'm laughed then coughing and my coughing sounds like I swallowed sandpaper.)
To be fair, most of these would look bad on ANYONE, no matter their size.
Idk, seems like par for the course where fashion nova is concerned. What was she expecting
I think most fashuns these days suck, plus size or not. I've bought a couple band t's and couple pairs of jeans in the last few years and that's about it. It's all just so hideous. Vintage stores don't count.
It looks like they are telling women "You will be allowed to buy clothes that look good and that you like when you lose a few pounds. It is a privilege you do not deserve, you fatties."
I appreciate effort BUT: Cut outs on plus size clothes are often placed VERY unfortunate, 3-5xl women don't usually wear crop tops because there's this annoying roll between the boob and the actual belly, udnerarm + sideboob fat is real and those artificial fiber textiles make you swear like hell. alsos top ruining cool clothes with stupid random words and statements.
No. Plus size people are just people. They don't have to be glad that anyone makes clothes for them. They deserve nice clothes, just like anyone else does. Besides, some of these clothes are fetishising plus size women, which already is a massive problem to begin with.
