Manchester United And Liverpool Fans Unite In Beautiful Tribute To Ronaldo’s Son During 7th Minute Of The Game

A parent’s love for their children starts at the very beginning, the daydream of a new life beginning. The months upon months of waiting and expecting, preparing and imagining. What will they be like, who will they resemble? And yet, sometimes, the child is not to be woken from their restful slumber.

There are no words that could even aim to describe the pain of losing a child, especially one which hadn’t taken a breath of life or enjoyed their parent’s warm embrace. Devastating news came from Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez, informing the public of their baby boy’s passing. A day later, fans organized a heartfelt tribute to the family.

Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese professional footballer, who plays for Manchester United and captains the Portugal national team, is considered to be one of the greatest players of all time and beloved by fans around the world.

The post that came on April 18 broke the hearts of many. He and his partner had experienced the ultimate loss, as it was announced that their son had died.

The news broke one day before a Manchester United v Liverpool game and fans organized a tribute in support of the family. On the seventh minute of the game, in honor of Ronaldo’s shirt number, a one-minute silence came, which was all but silent.

Fans of both teams joined together in a minute of standing ovation and applause, the words from the song “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Gerry & The Pacemakers filling the stadium: “Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart and you’ll never walk alone.”

Some United fans also held up Ronaldo’s shirt in solidarity and support. The football star was, understandably, not present at the stadium considering the circumstances.

The initial statement was posted on the pair’s Instagram accounts, stating: “It is with our deepest sadness that we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel.”

The parents continued to say that “only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.”

Cristiano and Georgina ended their statement expressing their devastation and asking for privacy at this very difficult time. “Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”

The pair seem to have been together since 2016 and had first announced the pregnancy in October, 2021. They were expecting twins, a baby boy and girl. They posted an ultrasound picture on Instagram, saying: “Our hearts are full of love – we can’t wait to meet you.”

Three months into the pregnancy, they believed the due date was around spring, 2022. As tragic as their loss is, we are grateful to be able to celebrate the life of their baby girl and their four other children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, eldest son Cristiano Jr. and youngest Alana Martina.

Messages of support have been coming from fans, family and teammates, offering their condolences and love

Hi, I'm Egle! If you made it onto this page, you may want to learn more about me. Would recommend reading works by Edgar Allan Poe much more than reading this bio, but suit yourself. I have plentiful interests, starting from the things I studied in university (Propaganda & Film, Sci-fi Writing, Psychiatry & History of Mental Illness, etc.) and ending with an addiction to tattoos, documentaries, and dancing in front of a mirror at 3am. I'm also a budding artist; I dabble in painting and drawing random bits of chaos. My favorite desert is Tiramisu.

I hope Man City fans now feel ashamed of themselves for disrupting the Hillsborough silence a few days earlier. It would have been enough for Liverpool fans to simply respect the tribute, instead they took part with signs and then You'll Never Walk Alone. Pure class.

I feel very horrible for his girlfriend no mother should ever go through that but he should in prison for rape. If you don't know about the leaked legal documents where he admits to raping a woman google it "she said no but I did it anyway"

I'm so torn with this. I get what people say about it now not being the time to bring up the rape issue but be admitted to raping her before his statement was amended, it's there in black and white, he raped a woman and has faced no consequences. No parent should ever lose a child but I can't feel any sympathy for a rapist.
