Johanne Lid is an artist from Norway creating fun and quirky comics called "Life of Jolie". The illustrations feature a young adult named Jolie trying to find her way in the grown-up life. The situations in the comics are very much inspired by Johanne's own life and you might find some of them quite relatable.

The artist has previously told Bored Panda that with her comics she wants to make people feel less alone. "Jolie is a girl with a lot of imperfections, but that is also what makes us human!"

Johanne grew up in a small town in Norway. According to the artist, her parents have always been very supportive of her creative journey, and she doesn’t take it for granted!

Besides comics, singing and songwriting is Johanne's other major hobby. The artist was excited to tell us that she is releasing an EP this summer (it’s in the indie-singer/songwriter genre)! "I feel like Jolie is very much a part of the songs and the songwriting process because my storytelling is very much the same in both." You can follow Johanne's artist page on Spotify!

Currently, the artist is working at the local grocery store in her hometown but she is planning to go back to university later this year.

"In the beginning, just wanted to experiment with the comic world and test out what I could make out of the character Jolie. But now that my following is growing I can also find inspiration in knowing that there will be someone that will look at my little story! And that is a really good feeling! Seeing people's reactions has definitely become my favorite part of posting comics and made me even more passionate about the whole project!"

Johanne posts new comics every Friday and that might be challenging sometimes if the ideas don't flow so easily. We got curious whether the artist has ever felt burned out by the creative work. Johanne replied that she is lucky to have multiple hobbies, so when she's tired of comics, she'll find joy in music and vice versa. "It can, of course, be tiring to keep up with the planned schedule, but it also feels so fulfilling to have a comic ready to post every Friday!"

"I really hope my little comics can lighten up someone's day, and maybe make them feel less alone when I tell my relatable stories (and some not relatable at all, haha).

Life motivates me to make comics! It’s the little moments, conversations, and feelings that make me want to tell these little stories!"

Alcohol is such a messy drug. I wish we had better substance education to have better social events when it is involved, especially when you have trouble with it.
