Typical anti-American trope. Pushing this whole "kid has to work to survive" agenda is getting old. If the US is so bad, why do we have so many people vacation and immigrate here?

What do those two have to do with that a large group of the populace having to take up a second or even a third job just to survive financially? And yes I include kids who work where there was genuine dept and/or need (I'll admit that I didn't check the original so it wasn't in this specific case), which is very rare to my knowledge. Just because you have tourists and immigrants doesn't mean that you aren't doing anything wrong, just that it's lesser known. I'll also admit that I expressed myself slightly badly, but the few times I have come across a child working for a genuine need it has always been dressed up as a feel good story, rather than how the lack of social safety net(s) made it necessary in the first place.

I can't speak to the vacationing part, but I think many people move here because of the horrible things in the country they're moving from.

Your TDS is showing. Look up economical, crime and safety statistics. "Orange man bad" did more for this country than you will admit. he may have been a narcissistic douche nozzle but he did a hell of a lot better than the administration before and after him. President Houseplant has destroyed every gain we have made in decades.

What he did was set up the current administration for failure. He tore this country in half and the legacy lives on in the cult of Republicans who refuse any bipartisanship efforts and punish their own party members who oppose Trump. He created the current economic climate, the gas prices, etc. with his poor handling of a pandemic, environmental protection rollbacks, etc. His “better” was short term solutions that would end up hurting in the long run and heavily favored the rich.

Not sure why the downvotes (I put you back to neutral). I think politics in the US has become extremely toxic and a lot of people are now seeing everything through the lens of whether it aligns with Trumpian politics or not, particularly those who support him. Anything discussing whether the government should be doing more to help people is immediately identified as anti-Trumpian/socialist, so some of his supporters will attack those advocating for those things as someone who is deranged from their hatred of their political leader. It's sadly the message they get bombarded with from their "news" bubbles, which almost certainly include inciting content from foreign troll farms eager to encourage the destabilization.

Fair point but BoredPanda is a Lithuanian website. From Europe (not the EU though), and I am European as well. We don't really know or care here about the politics int he USA here. It does not affect us. Why would they bring a local / niche debate on an international, European based, website? (Also thank you for the neutral)
