50 Times Attention Seekers Went Too Far With Their Ignorance (New Pics)
According to Freud, infants have an innate tendency to be self-centered. The main basic, evolutionary instinct of humans is to protect themselves and survive. In order to do so, the brain has to be 'selfish’ and largely concerned about itself. But as we grow up, we start to realize that not everything revolves around us, and our self-centeredness starts to decline.
Unfortunately, not all people grow out of it, and the I’m the Main Character online community is proof of that. It’s dedicated to shaming individuals who can’t help but just want to be the center of attention by shining even more spotlight on them. If you ask me, there’s no better way to help the entitled Karens come back down to earth.

This story was on here several weeks ago and there was an update this week. Newly rich, entitled woman, if I remember correctly, marrying a child from a billionaire's family.
Shocked
I was on a trip to the United Kingdom. I am a Canadian and was more than glad to see the recognition for our contribution in the world wars and especially since 10% of our population served in the second. I was absolutely stunned by what I saw at the Canadian war memorial. I didn’t say a word but should I have? It’s a memorial paying respect to thousands of Canadians (usually in their early 20s) who paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and liberation of a occupied Europe.
disrespecting war memorials...wow. that's a new level of stupid.
As the subreddit name suggests, the behavior of these people on the list falls under the term main character syndrome. It’s a fairly new colloquial definition used to describe someone who sees themselves as the main protagonist in a movie called ‘Life’ and always needs the spotlight on them.
Even though the word ‘syndrome’ is part of its name, it’s important to keep in mind that it’s not an actual syndrome or a medical diagnosis. The term originated on social media and is colloquially used to describe people with narcissistic or self-centered tendencies.

Fully aware all I had to do was run around him, which I totally did, but this still annoyed TF out of me: he stayed like this for 30 minutes and then got up and left.
It started as an innocent way for people to romanticize their lives and make even the most mundane aspects of them more interesting. This shouldn't really have any negative impacts. That is, until people develop the need to make everything about themselves.

Main Character Blinds Everyone The Entire Show For A Video Shoot
“Main character syndrome describes the lens through which a person sees themselves,” explained Topsie VanderBosch, LMSW, a licensed therapist and mindset coach. “People who think they’re the main character tend to believe that they’re the most important person in most situations and interactions with people.”

Generally, someone with the main character syndrome exhibits dramatic behaviors, overdramatizes life events, feels like they’re better than other people, and has a lot of outward confidence that might hide underlying insecurities. Additional ones include romanticizing experiences or relationships, constantly seeking validation from social media, and needing to outshine others.
Which Do You Hate More?
1 "My vehicle deserves more space." The vehicle that needs to take more than one parking space in a congested parking lot/garage.
2 "My vehicle is more important than people." The vehicle that needs to block sidewalks used for walking and wheelchair access. (Note: the red color pavement is a ramp next to a handicap parking space.)
These are almost as bad as when someone blocks a crosswalk. My blind stepbrother once take his white cane and repeatedly hit a vehicle blocking the crosswalk (even though I told him what was in his way). The driver was pissed 😄 🤣
#2. Obscures the sidewalk for strollers, wheelchairs and pedestrians.
quite literally illegal in, what looks to be, apartments and condominium complexes. ADA compliancy can get the entire management company into heavy fines, not to mention the individual who owns the vehicle
Load More Replies...I can see the logic of #2, as if they parked with the rear flush to the kerb, the front of the vehicle would be obstructing the roadway. However I have little to no sympathy with people that own such stupid oversize vehicles and would rather simply weren't allowed to park there at all.
OK. I know y'all all hate big trucks. But lemme explain. I have a Ram 1500 with a 6' bed and a 4door cab. Why? Because I frequently haul things, like garbage and lumber and bicycles and kayaks and stuff. I have a 4-door cab because I have a kiddo, and he's safer in the backseat, and also so that I can fit my partner and his son in the truck, too. I have one vehicle because I can only afford 1 vehicle, so it has to work for everything. Parking spaces are getting smaller and trucks are getting bigger. I can't really help either of those things. So my truck doesn't fit in some parking spaces. When my option is to either hang out in the front of the parking lot, blocking the 'aisle' or back up to the curb, I back up to the curb. If I can find a spot that doesn't block another spot or a sidewalk, I choose that one. But sometimes I don't have a choice. And so I have to be the a*****e because I can't shrink my truck or grow the parking space.
In #2 the space the blue car is in has a kerb in the spot to prevent a car going too far into it, is it possible the truck driver assumed that there was one in their spot too and that is what they felt their wheels touching? No excuse for #1 though.
Possible. Also parking bay might be too small for a truck that size so the option was to either block the sidewalk or part of the road. Not saying it's right to block the sidewalk, but sometimes it might not be deliberate
Load More Replies...I worked for a packaging company and the HR dept. put out a notice that trucks like that would be towed if they parked that way. They were only allowed to go in head first, it worked.
TBF in the first pic, it seems as though the space to exit the car in space 116 is very, very minimal, and parking backwards would prevent the diver from exiting without bumping the door into the wall.
Number 2. When I go hang out with my friend, we need to make sure the parking spot we secure allows for enough room for her to assemble her wheelchair then transfer from her car to the wheelchair.
Sorry, but, driving a pickup myself, I can sympathize. If he didn't pull all the way into the space, his front end would be sticking out into the parking lot, and people would b***h about that, too.
Both are b******t(yup, no censoring), the vehicles of your isn't at all special, it just made of metal like the others before coated with different paint.
Why isn't there a cement parking bumper thing to stop the truck, like behind the little car?
The missing curb stop in #2 made the BAD parking job possible. Blame those controlling lot conditions.
I leave notes on cars that do that, I know they don't care but it's rewarding haha
Number 2. Because I literally cannot get around it if I'm in a wheelchair or if now I have my crutches and calipers... Am I supposed to magically be able to climb a tree? 🙄
As a truck owner, #2 hurts me. BE 👏 CONSIDERATE 👏 OF 👏 OTHERS. Making all truck owners look like douches. It's part of the reason apartment complexes around me don't allow backing in like this.
1 is far worse than 2, but 2 is an idiot for buying a vehicle that's just too large for the area.
#1 might be assigned both of those spots. I pay rent for both of mine, and if I don't double park, someone else takes one, and then my guests have nowhere to park. Besides, I find it incredibly rude to take someone else's assigned spot without permission. You wouldn't park in someone's driveway would you? Would you walk into a stranger's house and watch their TV? So, I block mine partially on principal and partially for practical reasons.
Figures that #1 is a BMW. Seeing that the car next to the truck in #2 has a parking bumper behind it, is the space where the truck is even a parking spot?
There's a possible explanation for the first one. If the disabled parking is full and the car needs room for wheelchair etc, that would be the only way to do it. the 2. one however has no excuses
In my opinion the first one is worse. That driver is just an a*s. The second one might not have realized he was blocking the sidewalk (and also, to be fair, if there was one of the concrete stops in that parking space like we can see in the one beside it the truck wouldn't have blocked the sidewalk).
In my opinion if you don't understand the dimensions of your vehicle and require something other than your mirrors to park it properly, you shouldn't be driving that vehicle
Load More Replies...I have a giant work truck. That stupid boat doesn't fit in a normal length parking space. Can't say so here, but sometimes there really is no place to park it that won't be a PITA for someone else. It's embarrassing, But I just need something that big to move tons of material around at once.
as someone who owns a full size truck, I can confidently say that I'm ashamed of my people
First one is worse, only because the second one COULD be unintentional.
Second pic is worse for me as a non-driver. I would get a shopping trolley and take a run up and accidentally ram it in to the side of that ridiculous díck extension.
I went through the drive-thru at McDonald’s yesterday and was told to pull around and park in spot #3 while they finished my order. Except, I couldn’t park in spot #3 because an XXL SUV was parked diagonally and taking up spots #2,3,&4.
I mean, is that really people's problematic behavior or a whole host of things failing us at once? This man clearly needs to have his truck for work, and also what about the company or whoever owns those spaces for trying to pack a ton of cars into a tiny space knowing vehicles of all sizes exist. This also doesn't seem to be a southern thing, lived in both Carolinas and Florida and I've only seen the first problem. The taking up sidewalk space, never (not including utility trucks needing to gain access to them to fix things.) I can imagine in more densely packed areas or is an issue more but still a combo of things to make number 2 shiznitty.
My Neighbor Sprayed Herbicide On My Back Lot To Make Himself A Parking Spot
Sheriff says that in our county you’re allowed to park on the outer 8 feet of someone else’s lawn for a day or two without their permission because it’s considered the shoulder. Come back to the same spot as many times as you want, just don’t be there continuously. You probably don’t have the right to kill someone else’s vegetation but I can’t prove it was him.
My Neighbors Parking, And No It’s Not Temporary, Been Like This For 3 Days
We have an HOA but clearly they don’t care, but they do care if my garbage can is left out 30 seconds after garbage is picked up.
Experts say that viewing yourself as a main character can be healthy. However, like most things, it should be taken advantage of in moderation. VanderBosch explained that developing confidence and owning one’s life choices can be the positive effects of this syndrome. But when it causes people to hurt others with their self-absorbed behavior, it becomes unhealthy. If a person centers themselves too much and expects the world to revolve around them, they are stepping into destructive territory.

The main character syndrome can also be mistaken for a similar term called main character energy. The latter has more positive connotations associated with the protagonist of a story, like confidence, charisma, and self-assurance. It’s a feeling of being in control of our own life story and embracing our uniqueness.

Unlike the main character syndrome, it doesn’t mean to always seek the spotlight. It’s more about living with intention, loving yourself, and choosing things that represent your values and ambitions, even if it means standing out or going off the beaten path.

I'm not going to lie, I have parked over the lines a few times. I'm a really good driver, but I SUCK at parking lol. HOWEVER, I have never parked over the line, shrugged, and then just went into the store and left it that way. I have always gotten out of the car, realized my mistake, and then gotten right back in a fixed it. That's the difference.
It should be perfectly legal to slap people with main character syndrome like this.
None of this should surprise any of us anymore, just know you are not alone.

I’ve an idea. Could we make precise parking, within the lines, THE manliest, most alpha, badass thing? People should sit on them and see if that fixes the behavior lol
