35 Times ‘Karens’ Acted So Entitled, The Internet Had To Call Them Out For It In This Online Group
Acting like an entitled, spoiled brat won’t win you any favors and won’t make you any new friends. In fact, you’re bound to lose a few if you don’t tone it down and continue making other people’s lives a living hell.
To you and I, these people are simply huge jerks who are best left ignored. But to the internet, they’re known as ‘Karens,’ no matter their actual gender or real name. Shaming ignorant Karens has become so huge, it’s even spawned its own subreddit, the ‘Eff You Karen’ community that shows everyone how not to act if you want to be a good person.
In the mood for some more examples of unearned entitlement and outrage? Once you’re done upvoting the pics that made your jaw drop in this list, check out Bored Panda’s previous article about the ‘Eff You Karen’ community right over here.

Karen Alley Is Out Of Her Mind
The ‘Eff You Karen’ subreddit, founded in late 2017, is now homing in on the 1.2-million-member mark. Some of the subreddit’s rules include avoiding political topics, avoiding witch hunts, and censoring social media identities in order to protect the people being poked fun at.
They might be in the wrong and be way too entitled, but there are very few people who actually deserve being spammed by a bunch of angry internet users. Everyone makes mistakes and we need to leave enough room for people to grow and become better. Though, of course, that’s not an excuse for acting like a horrible, entitled person in the first place.

In a previous interview, I spoke about Karen memes and the context surrounding them with Matt Schimkowitz, Know Your Meme’s Senior Editor. According to him, there’s lots of potential for the meme to be insensitive and even offensive to women, so care must be taken when using this type of humor. He put it very plainly that we should all meme with caution, whatever the meme might be.
The Logic This Karen Has Is Very Small
This Karen Is Being Racist Against A Dog

“As [the meme] grows from a parody of a common social experience of someone demanding to speak to a manager to a statement about white privilege, the stakes over the meaning of the meme grow as well,” Matt told Bored Panda.

“I think that users of the meme should be cognizant that what they're meme-ing might not be their intent anymore. It's very possible that the meme could grow even farther to exhibit misogynistic tendencies, which are somewhat already present,” Matt warned those who use Karen memes to be aware of the context.

At the core of using memes for humor lies intent. Know Your Meme’s Senior Editor Matt pointed out that the Karen meme, something that’s used and enjoyed by many people, could eventually become connected to something that many would find offensive if people with sexist beliefs started using the term as a “catchall for all women.”

Though we can’t expect memes to be completely neutral. “Meme-ing can be nihilistic artform and rewards really ugly behavior in some cases. Sometimes, what starts as a fairly inoffensive meme can grow into something really hateful, like Pepe the Frog. I could see that happening to Karen—though, I'm not really sold one way or the other on the debate."

According to Matt, it’s hard to find the exact origin of the Karen meme. However, he personally believes that the most convincing origin story is a bit from Dane Cook's 2005 comedy special , "The Friend That Nobody Likes" where Karen is given this title. "This is one of the earliest examples that we have to using a specific name to stand in for a whole type of person, and it's a comedic trope that we've seen dozens of times over the last 15 years," Matt explained the possible origins of the meme to Bored Panda.

Karen Wants To Know Where She Can Complain About The Hospital Helicopter Used In Emergency Situations Because It Interrupts Her Sleep
I was in a restaurant once waiting on some take out when a lady in a pink track suit came in and a minute later all our phones went off with an Amber Alert (notification of a child abduction with vehicle description) and the lady started complaining about the alerts and how they were so annoying especially when they wake her up at night. Everyone else kinda side glanced each other like "Is she for real?"
Load More Replies...I bought a condo right under the descent path of the local hospital helicopter (hospital is right across the road). It is a momentary annoyance compared to what the person being transported is going through. My late husband was a flight nurse on a police helicopter, and the idea that you should land miles away then transport by ambulance would have made him laugh. Kind of missing the whole point of rapid helicopter transport for critical cases.
I too live under a helicopter flight path, and I have never considered asking them to move! I moved here, they were here first :D even if not, I've learned to tune it out, and if anything I just think god i hope they will be ok
Load More Replies...I used to live near a hospital and a helicopter used to come in maybe about once a month at night. Some Karen (male or female - I don't know) letterboxed the entire suburb asking us to write to the govt to get it stopped at night. He/she said that the helicopter could land at the airport and then bring the patient by ambulance. That would have taken at least an additional 30 mins. I'm pleased to say that all my neighbours' reaction was the same: what a pity the Karen didn't include his/her name - all of us would have wanted to visit him/her to 'explain'.
do you mean with "gentle" persuasion, like knives?
Load More Replies...My dad was a city councilor. He literally had a (male) constitutant email him with this complaint -- that Flight for Life was too loud. It's the helicopter service that saves lives in our mountainous region, transporting people to the hospital. It also transports severely sick/injured children to the larger hospital an hour away for speciality treatment. This dude was mad about it.
I always marvel at how their indignation would disappear if it was them or their lived one needing the helicopter. It boggles my mind that some people can't imagine this situation without it actually happenning: total lack of empathy
Load More Replies...She is clearly the kind of people who would hit a person with a bottle and sue their victim because she sliped on the spilled liquid.
I live next to a train, a hospital, AND a fire department. I here sirens and train horns at night all the time! Do you want to know what I do about it? I sleep. And when I sleep over somewhere else, it's hard to sleep without the train in particular. Lol
I know when it's *times altered due to creep on BP trying to figure my location etc*, thanks to the train ^-^ i agree it'd be weird without it:D
Load More Replies...In the UK it could be a police helicopter; they hover for ages, trying to locate criminals for the police on the ground.
Na. This is my local page. The suburb is near the hospital. The rescue chopper is in and out frequently. They used it recently to help police as there is not a police chopper in town.... this post was before that.
Load More Replies...Here in New Orleans, there is a group of Uptown (upper class) Karens suing over the children's hospital's use of an EMS helicopter.
Oh this gets my blood boiling!! I had to be life flighted to a special hospital for babies when I went into labor early with my severely ill daughter, who ended up dying. Sorry her life disturbed your precious sleep. Who thinks they're going to actually get sleep in a hospital anyways!! Ignorant ass
Move Karen, I believe the hospital was located in your neighborhood before you moved in!
Ha. I'm on a neighborhood listserv, and some clown posted a similar complaint about ambulances and the lights/sirens in the middle of the night. She wanted to know how she could find out who called the ambulance so she could complain and/or determine if the situation was truly an emergency that required EMTs.
Buy some earplugs and be thankful that it's not you in the helicopter seriously ill!
You can't complain about that kind of noise... just like sirens during emergencies
Thats right. " oh we are approaching karens house, turn the sirens off"
Load More Replies...They did this where I live, I live about 5 minutes walk from a major hospital. A couple years ago some selfish morons thought the trauma helicopter made too much noise, they held petitions and got it banned sort of. It now has to fly in from far outside of the city. Imagine being so entitled that you take a house or apt close to a hospital and have the audacity to complain about a helicopter that's saving precious lives...
My house is in the direct flight path between our cities main trauma unit and the helicopters base at the airport. Some days we hear it ten or more times, sometimes not at all. I have never thought to 'complain' even though it is loud, because I am thankful we have the service
I live near a hospital (and my work). I see the helicopter going to the hospital from my back yard quite often. It does not bug me because I know it saves lives.
I live near one too. The trauma helicopter flies over my house. No double glazing, no insulation, it's quite loud even in the house. And still I wouldn't ever dare complain about lives being saved. I wonder if these people want a trauma heli when they themselves are in dire need, or if they would gladly sacrifice their lives because it makes too much noise
Load More Replies...Wow I almost sympathized until that last sentence about it possibly being a hospital helicopter. I live close to a military base and they do helicopter training (& occasionally demolition, though they send out a notice for that) It can get a bit annoying, but I’ve never bothered reporting it... they gotta do what they gotta do.
People also complain about the sirens and lights of ambulance/firetrucks/police. It's ridiculous.
Load More Replies...I live in the suburbs and many days the NY bound international flights (heavy aircraft) are routed right over my town. I find it very interesting and we all deal with it fine. However, the most recent form of noise pollution are the private helicopters ferrying the rich and fabulous out to the Hamptons. These fly really low and are a bigger disturbance than the planes. Plus that mode of transportation is totally unnecessary.
Let's just hope she ever has to use a hospital helicopter. She whine about it the whole way.
It's the same with people who move next to an airport or air force base without considering the flight paths they usually take. It's really annoying when the airport or air force base used to be on the outskirts of town but builders built closer and closer to them and then people bitched about the noise even though they were there first.
Earplugs karen! But be an idiot and file a complaint. The hospital staff will laugh for weeks because of your behaviour.
This actually happened in Amsterdam. The emergency helicopter cannot bring patients to VU after 11pm because of noise. In f*****g sane.
I work as an X-ray engineer and work very closely with a higher-up at UCSF (like a project planner/ purchasing director... his job title is vague. But people in the bay will know thst UCSF has been building a huge trauma center, was meant to be one of the biggest in the world, and definitely The west coast... The city denied construction of a Heli-Pad (one of the most important parts as patients need to be flown from all over) over fears of complaints of noise pollution -_-...
Actually probably police helicopters looking for criminals. If a hospital helicopter hovered for a long while, its services would eventually not be needed.
Move. That would take care of the noise and the neighbors would be a lot happier.
Well, no, I guess they could just dump the injured/dying victims from 20 or 30 feet, rather than interrupt your sleep. I mean, priorities!
"People should due rather than inconveniencing me!" I live in a similar situation and I think it's wonderful that people can get treatment faster!
Surely, they could put silencers on the rotar blades! Eh, what!? Mwahhaha....., anyway, what are people doing to get injured at night? They should be at home sleeping!
Just long enough to save someone's life. Speaking of lives, get one.
I live right next to a big hospital. When the helicopters pass and our entire apartment shakes, I say a little prayer for whoever is in the helicopter. Then go back to sleep.
she's asking a neighborhood watch group? huh. maybe they can get some Stingers and just take those pesky choppers out...
Some of these are funny. But this hurts my soul. Bet she wouldn't feel that way if it was her or her family being airlifted.
If it bothers this person so much, I recommend they move. Wonder who was there first... Here in the UK there are instances of this type of "nuisance complaint" after a person/family has purchased a property being fully aware of the situation (e.g. moving near an airport).
Are you sure it isnt your ac because my ac before I bought a new one sounded like a barking dog

My mother (who has asthma btw) has been wearing a mask out for the entire pandemic. Even now after she's been vaccinated she still wears a mask for the safety of others. If my mother can do it these idiotic dungbags can do it.
My little brother has terrible asthma and a number of allergies. We grew up in a farm - the kid was always masked. Now he's a successful personal trainer who owns his own gym and wore a mask all through the pandemic.

I went to pay for some items I wanted to purchase at a museum store. As I took out my cash, the gentleman at he register asked me to please use a card, since they couldn't safely disinfect cash. I apologized and told him that I was sure that I was told that and I had simply forgotten. As I took out my card, I apologized again and said, " I'm sure that you get enough "Karens" in here, I would hate to be another one!" The look of sheer joy on his face was priceless! I like to think that we had made each others' day at that moment.
Work at a butchers shop, and had a lady coming in wanting chicken to make soup. So I was like "oh we have these special soup parts!" (a 5 kg chicken chopped in 4 pieces). She just stared at me and said "uh I always get a normal whole chicken". I was like oh that also works, not everyone knows about the soup chicken blah blah. She suddenly gets mad at me because she always got a whole chicken whilst we had something else she didn't know about. Almost screaming at me how we scammed her and that we have horrible service. She bought the chicken anyways and then stormed off yelling she would tell everyone how we are disgusting scammers. Lady, it just a piece of chicken

I've got a theory, and hear me out, people who claim they can't wear a mask just can't stand the smell of their own breath.
I actually just got some disposable masks (kids size) and I was kinda really happy to get them because they were going to fit properly. Now here’s the odd part. They don’t smell good. It’s not like a plastic smell. I can’t even identify it. Can still wear them. Just think it’s bizarre.
